When do you ask for a pump?

Hi, when do you guys ask your network for a pump on an offer? I mean how many sales or leads do you generated before you ask? Does it depend on the payout?

It varies from network to network, but I wouldn't ask for a commission increase until you have generated at least 50 sales (if you are on an affiliate network) or 200ish conversions (if you are promoting CPA).

There's no magic number, but all the networks will want to see that you are generating consistent revenue.

I always ask for a bump (not pump) when I start running the offer, then after I've sent some traffic

From the go. I usually ask my AMs for a paybump on the go, they know me, if i'm asking for that it means i'm all in on the niche so they give me a small bump first. Then i'd ask when i'm at about 100 leads, if it's a $1-2 payout, i'd wait out til 300 leads, which, usually means just 1 day waiting.

Thanks guys, how about if the pay out is $20? How many leads or sales do you generate before asking? I've only asked a few times and got bumped, I know I should have done more, but my personality is that I just hate to ask.

If you are doing CPA offers, then I'd say wait for 50 conversions based on that amount. But that's just me personally. I've worked on the merchant side of networks and as an affiliate so I have a bit of a different perspective. You need to prove your worth before asking for a bump, and if you really are going gung ho in their offer, 50 conversions should be doable within a few days tops.

I ask before I start running an offer.

Then I ask again after I have some leads coming in.

I never ask for payout bump, reason being, I feel that the right after bump, I feel decrease in conversion rate.

Same problem has been felt by many aff marketers too. All I care about is high EPC.

Instead of asking for an increase in payouts with a NETWORK, here's an even smarter idea: CUT OUT THE NETWORK alltogether!

The less layers between yourself (lead introducer) and the merchant (people paying for the leads), the more money for you! They are just middlemen, and while sometimes 1 layer can be good, most networks that pay you will have an addition 2 layers on top of you, such as a marketing company outsourced by the original merchant.

Cut out the network, go directly to the merchant/or marketing company ... and increase your margins by 30-100% ! THAT's how you win at this game

Any questions just let me know,

Nick this is true and false, I can get a dating offer for 5.90 thru a network that has already established good traffic history, When signing up direct with this company directly i can assure you i changed back to the networks link after the 1st lead as starting payout was $4.00

Alot of direct companies start you way to low to get a feel for your traffic quality. However many networks who already have this established can offer you much better payouts then running them direct. For the sake of $1.90 more per lead i think ill pass going 30 days to impress the advertiser to get to 5.90 and just start off at 5.90

However what he says about middle men is also correct. if you see a offer avg pay about $5.00 and you are getting $2.50 then chances are you have to hope your lead makes it threw 2 or three networks before getting back to you.

You are damn if you do and if you don't, When you see 4 networks avg $5 and one offers $6.50 ppl jump and run the $6.50 what they do not realize is the network is shaving 1 out of 5 leads to get the $1.50 back.

You can ask whenever even before you run an offer.

Be wary of asking for a bump in payout now adays, I assure you the network is there to make money and the more they pay you the less they make.

Wont give names however i was getting $29 for cr and i was rocking the epc, well another network heard i was doing 20k a month on this offer and offered me $31. Needless to say i jumped at this think wow more money, Well after my epc dropping close to $1.00 i actually made less.

That old saying is true, Just cause the grass looks greener on the other side does not mean it is.

Actually I had a similar problem, when I asked for a bump last time, my ROI for that offer drops and dies in a week. I was doing good with the campaign for about 2 months and after the bump, it just died the next week. I don't know if it was a coincidence or something else.
