I've just learned that 7search publishes their 500 top paying keywords.

To be clear, this means these keywords are drawing the 500 highest bids. Presumably this means these are money keywords worth bidding for.

  I, for one, do not develop a campaign around a product. I base it on a lively market, and then find products/offers to suit it.

It's a misleading number. All that means is somebody is dumb enough to be bidding $6/keyword, it doesn't actually work out to that much (seriously, read up on how Max CPC works).

If you add "credit counseling" (the #1 keyword in that report) you will see 1 person is bidding $6/click (2 actually, most likely 2 accounts setup to get the first 2 positions). Everybody below that is bidding like $0.10/click.

I did however get into a new ad unit called The Traffic Giant was a pretty good deal and according to my site stats they all seem to add up and had very good feed back so far. You might want to check them out.

Thanks for the information, but I think it can be quite misleading, I personally tend to go for keywords that have high search rates but very low competition, meaning the bid price is always very low, my best campaign at the moment is a CB product and I seem to be the only person bidding on my chosen keywords, leading to an unusually high conversion rate for very little advertising cost
