Building an email list for CPA

Hey guys and gals,

So I had a few questions for those that have successfully built a list with CPA offers.

1.) Do you split test your landing page against the original cpa offer, to see which converts better?

2.) Where do you get your content for your autoresponder(s) series?

3.) How often are you emailing?

4.) Do you promote any offer to a list or only specific offers depending on what the site they opted into?

5.) What have been your average CTR and conversion rate from landing page to cpa offer?

Much appreciated.

    1) Yes. Of course. Test, test, test to find the winner.

2.) It's usually best to write it yourself until you understand what converts and why. Most good copywriters will cost an arm and a leg, so unless you're prepared for that, don't go with anyone cheap.

3). Depends on the quality of the list and what you are trying to do. Some of my lists I do daily as they tend to opt out fairly quick and it isn't a very high quality list anyways. My higher quality lists are usually once or twice a week tops.

    4) Really depends on how much management you can do. If you can manage to segregate the lists and send them different content and can optimize that, you should see much higher ROIs.

5). Some offers convert at 1%, some at 50%. There really is no average. It's down to niche, traffic source and offer. Too many variables and its a silly question to ask. Who cares as long as you are making money at an ROI you yourself are happy with.

1 - always split test EVERYTHING
    2 - write it myself
3 - depends on the niche and content, it's hard to figure out how much it too much and how little is too little - try to put yourself in the shoes of people in your list and think, how much is annoying but how little is too little and you risk them forgetting about you
4 - I split test many offers, but try to match the niche/demographics
5 - it varies way too much

One thing to think about: change tracks completely!

Email open rates go down every year. You might want to check out something such as Mobile Autoresponder (Mobile Autoresponder - #1 Web to Text and Short Code SMS Autoresponder) instead and start building mobile lists, instead of email lists.

    1. You have to test everything. So I recommend you do both.

    2. Mostly written by myself. Here's a trick, get on someone's email list that sends CPA offers and see what that person is doing and try to mimic it.

3.This depends but I usually email about once a week.

    4. I try to build a relationship and be more of a friend, after which I can briefly mention about offers in other niches if it is relevant to my suscribers. You want to warm them up first.

    5. I can't put a fixed number on this, it differs across the board for different offers.

From my experience, the most important thing is to test.
Emailers that work with us for a long time usually have good results only after a long series of tests. They get to know their traffic better that way.
