Article submitting and backlinking

Hey guys,

I have another (really stupid) question.
Besides paid traffic, I'd also like to try article submitting.

As far as I know it works like this- After writing the article I should "build backlinks to my article in different directories with the keywords I wish to target". What exactly does that mean? How to I backlink to my article? Please give me a step to step guide and links, because I really don't understand how that works.

By the way- Are email submits working for you?

Thanks!!

I do it in another way - I use article marketing to get backlinks for my website. The website contains not only the services offer, but also articles and FAQ related to my offers. So the backlinks from the article directories help to rank better to my website. Also, targeted visitors are coming through these links.

Thanks for the answer, but I still don't know what to do- What exactly do I have to do to backlink? I really don't know anything about it, so I would appreciate if someone could give me a precise description.

you should link your main keywords from the articles to your main site. Then submit the articles in the article directories. That will provide you a good quality back link and you will get a lot of visitors form them.

When you include your links in your articles and submit to article directories, visitors go on there and view your article and then click on them. That way you get more visitors to your main site.

Yeah you write the articles to get backlinks to your website, not backlinks to your articles.

Backlinks are just links from other websites, there are several ways - check out angela/pauls backlinks, blog comments, link exchanges, paid links, etc

By Submitting your site to quality Article Submission Sites like EzineArticles.com you can get pretty good and targeted traffic and also if you create a link for some keywords from the article to your website you would be able to achieve a quality backlink. That backlink will help you to rank higher in the search engine results for that particular keyword as you got the vote from that article directory.

Here is a good link to get you started and give you a good understanding of what all article marketing involves...Read through the different sub categories. If you decide to outsource any of the article writing or submission or use software to help save time on writing or submitting this will give you a good starting point as well:
