Nearly Banned by Google at Stage 1

Hi Everyone

I was into affiliate marketing in 2007 and did pretty well so after Panda, decided to help people lose weight.

Just put 28pounds.com on Adwords and almost god banned straight away, with a warning if I get another dissaproved ad they will ban me for life.

I honestly think I am missing something obvious but any idea what they are getting the hump over?

I know they want quality but its not an affiliate site so bit lost what I have done wrong

Anyone else has any issues of late with sites the think should be ok?..

When I look at the site I see a very thin content site that looks like it has been whipped together for the purpose of getting optins via paid traffic. I guess Google are seeing what I am seeing.

You also have no legal documents on the page.

Down the bottom at the very least have a terms of use, privacy policy, sitemap, and contact us link. If you can stick in a physical address down there then even better.

It's not so much just the amount of content -- just the actual look of the page to me doesn't look like a serious blog but a page that has just been put together for search engines. I would try and make it look more like an authentic site. 5 - 10 good articles is what I would be aiming for at least.

Those kind of sites doesn't fly anymore with Google. You need a heavy content website that actually provides value to the visitors. Don't cram the site with affiliate links also. Don't worry if you get banned. Just create another account. This happens.

    Cheers

Maybe try getting some more content on it and get some traffic to your site.

Sometime they like things better if your site is established a bit more.

Adwords is typically the last place I recommend for ppc at this point, start off with bing, 7search,etc. then once you find out what works then make sure it's fully optimized, then take it to Adwords

There are a few things you have to be careful with when using AdWords.

First, deliver content. Have 15+ content pages on your site as well as a privacy policy and a contact page. Send people to a page with content and deliver value even if they don't perform any action.

Second, if you're promoting affiliate offers, capture leads and promote the offers on the back-end.

Third, don't bid on brands and don't use anything that can be considered offensive by the end-user or any other company.

Yea.. Follow the W's advice and you should be fine!

Adwords and adsense both are quite strict nowadays and they dont even think before banning (My thoughts lol)
