[Case study] YouTube fail- Need your opinion

Hey everyone,

Once again- Happy new year!

This is another YouTube thread as I have been struggling with it for a while now.
I started trying to promote offers through YT more than 2 weeks ago. I know it hasn't been a long time yet but the results are really shitty.

In these two weeks I uploaded around 80 videos. I created several YT profiles and promoted different niches through my channels (e.g. music, celebrity news, fashion, sports). I usually added an annotation in the videos saying something like 'Win a $500 H&M Gift Card! Visit www.mydomain.com or click on the link in the video description'- I put the link also in the first line of the video description (and in the second, third etc. an actual video description).

I iframed the offers on my domain, so you weren't just redirected. Additionally, I used Luke's iframing tool so I had an address which looked a little nicer (ends with com-if.us).

I always paid attention to putting the most important keywords in both the video description and the head line. Also checked what the competition is doing. I also paid a lot of attention to the tags, always used the Google keyword tool for it.
After uploading a video I always submit the link to ping sites, Twitter and sites like StumbleUpon. I put a lot of work in doing it right.

The quality of the videos didn't seem bad- On some videos I got a lot of clicks in a short time. But then just a few clicks on my link. And from those clicks almost zero conversions. So far I got more than 7000 clicks on my videos.
From these 7000 clicks just 3 conversions.
And I'm pretty sure I only got these 3 conversions because in the beginning I commented on some videos that I give out free gift cards (the conversions all happened in the first couple of days).

3 conversions from more than 7000 clicks is a really bad result, regarding the fact that I mainly promote email/Zip submits.
I'm promoting 5 different email submits and 2 higher quality products (conversions all from email submits).

.... So, I'm actually really close to giving up on YT, it doesn't seem to be working for me. But I wanna give it a last try and ask you guys- What is your opinion on all this? What could I have done wrong? What should I change?

Are the offers maybe to 'scammy' (Win free gift card), is my text in the annotations not got enough, should I rather say 'Get it for free' instead of 'Win, is the method YT simply not effective anymore nowadays?

I would really appreciate your opinion on it. Thanks a lot!
