Why are you not making money?

I used to over think everything. Will this banner work? Will this lander work. Will I lose money?
Due to this I used to pause a campaign in very little time and this never got me a winner campaign.

I came over all of that because I knew my problem.

What's your story. This is a very important thread to shed all your inhibitions.

The reason why we don't earn is because of the impatient attitude.. We all think that blogging will be a source of extra income for a short period of time

    It's mostly their attitude.

Either they are working too hard and working on too many projects at once, or they give up on what they're working on.

I was an un-organized mess when I first started. I didn't treat it like a job. My office was a shit hole and I did not know what I was doing from day to day.

Is that how you would turn up to work at the office?? Hell NO!

I changed everything. I got organized, made goals and targets and planned everything from when I needed to check campaigns to when I could go for a dump.

    PLANNING WORKS!

That's how I have all the mess now, day to day same, not enough action from my site, and as you said need to organize everything, because in the middle of doing something I'll start doing something else because It looks as a better idea...

      Organize and take action.
And real action not to try once and give up.

Honestly, I think in general many people are too scared to go out and do, or they go out and do - but they half-ass it..

My biggest issue when I started was similar, it was just fear of it "not working" so I over thinked everything and delayed, this was a huge mistake, I wish I would have dived in much earlier.

I'm being patient and methodical. This includes waiting for my system to be finished and set up before I start promoting....has hard as that is!

In the meantime, I'm setting up a separate bank account for my business. Pondering how I want to do my own domain for it. And reading everything on the tools I'm using so I can use them to their full potential when it's time to start. There's plenty there to keep me busy, honestly.

I'll throw a free ad out on occasion. Mostly to occupy myself. But I don't expect much and mainly use them to test the auto responder and opt-in rate with my "copy" (which I'm new to writing, so checking to see if different things I say work better.) So far, nadda! So researching how to write copy is next, lol!

I'm treating it like a big project I would have in college or high school. Planning and organization takes a majority of the time. Actually doing the project takes about 30% of the time or less.

So, I'm not making money right now...but I do hope to be seeing some returns in 1-3 months (depending on how the system I'm waiting for works and what I need to do with it.)

This is my first serious foray into IM. Am I on the right path?

    It's mindset.

    Affiliates have completely unearthly expectations.

They want HUGE money but don't want to put any effort into getting it. They don't plan, they don't take action and they certainly do not want to spend any money to get where they want to go.

They typically look for excuses to NOT do things instead of looking at solving problems that always come up.

It's easier to blame everyone else for a lack of success versus accepting that only YOU control your success.

Not every affiliate is like that, the ones who make it accept the above and then make it work. There's a ton of information out there but if you don't act on any of it or look for excuses to not do things, you'll never make it.

People don't make money for a number of reasons. As a former Real Estate broker the number one reason new agents didn't survive is fear of being successful. People don't like to go out of their comfort zone and will come up with all kinds of reasons not to do something or try something new.

Why are you not making money?

Ans: I am too lazy to take action.

So I think if you are a good action taker, then you can make good amount of cash.

It's because IM is made up of so many elements and it's not always easy to master all these elements at the same time to become successful -- also there are so much hype created by others who claim to be successful and that tends to distract us from realities, hence making us jumping from one scheme to another and evetually losing faith in ourselves because of lacking success.

Amazing replies. I learnt so much! Thanx guys!

My biggest fear is losing money. Even today it reduces my productivity. I am making efforts to get over it.
I used to over-think a lot. Now I control. I tell myself let this run over the night and I see huge variation in results which I wouldnt have seen if I would have paused a Lander or a banner just out of the fear of losing money. This happened just yesterday to me.

    1.no business plan
2.check yourself every end of day , what you learned and what was the mistakes exactly in each campaing - that's the way to learn also what can work and in what you need to invest more time and money .

However for all this to succeed you of course need 1 thing and its a business plan with exact goals and not just say : I want milliion dollars

yeah the biggest reason why I see people fail to make any money online, is really taking action. There is often times too much information overload, and then paralysis. So you need to just get started, and learn as you go. Then simply test everything that you do and see what works. There a many ways to make a buck online, you just need to choose what works for you and stay focused.

I think everybody has to go through that phase... We always have 2 minds working together..left brain - analytical and right one - creative... Without a balance of both, we are not going to make the kind of money we want to. Left brain of logic helps us to step back and see, if what we thought is creative is really creative. Too much of left brained thinking, then we are never going to be creative. Too much of right brained thinking, we are going to fall in love with our own campaigns - get emotional with them and not able to be self critical whether or not as to the demographics we are targeting will love it or not.

I haven't taken ANY action because there are so many people making big claims that I feel it is all BS. I believe some people are making some money, but I think most are just blowing smoke, faking it. Take all the WSO's for example. I'd bet that the only money any of those sellers are making is by selling the WSO. I bet that most have never made any money, or not much, doing what they are trying to teach others to do. For example: About a year ago I bought a WSO from a guy on CPA. I thought it sucked. It lacked enough details to be actionable. All of the reviews on his WSO were raving fans. When I posted that I thought it was not good, I was mostly ignored. I have seen others singing the praises of this guy and claiming him to be an expert in CPA and the one to go to for learning the business. What a joke!

How does a new guy really learn what to do? I don't have 5 hours a day to work on this stuff, so I need good info that outlines the steps clearly. You all talk about taking action. WHAT ACTION? My head spins from all the info and bold claims out there.

Simple solution: make room for that 5 hours.

If your head spins from all that info then you surely have more than enough info to take action.

Bottom line is, if you want something bad enough, you'll find a way to get it. In this case you don't want it bad enough yet.

My problem was lack of organization.

When I got organized and treated my campaigns as a real business I started getting results.

Now, organization is the number 1 rule in my marketing agency.

Forget all the trendy things to say about working harder, smarter, blah blah blah. How much of this is really BS, and how much is real? How many of you are really making any money, and for those that are, are you making enough to even be worth the effort? Forget the theory that you have to keep at it because some day it will pay off? Sorry, but with a full-time job and family, I can't just clear 5 hours a day. I'm not giving up my family to make money, and I have to sleep or I will be worthless at my job which currently pays the bills.

The problem I have seen is that everyone is trying to be super optimistic that they will make it some day, kind of like an MLM salesman. Also, everyone is selling something, so very few will tell the truth. How much is theory, and how much is truth? What is BS and what is not? I can't tell the difference. Anyone can claim anything they want when they are online.

Dude. This is exactly why you're where you are at. I sense so much negativity in your post. So much skepticism. So much glass half empty mentality...

I'll tell you the secret to figuring out if something works or not. Go do it and you will know if something works or not. Thinking too much about it will naturally cause your brain to come up with a ton of reasons why something won't work. So stop thinking and reading and go do something.

I'll tell you this much though. The guys that make good money online didn't get there overnight. It took them years of trial and error. There's a learning curve to everything.

        Again, just do it.
