Paid Traffic + CPA Offer - Landing Page Question/Help

by razul

Hello,

I want to use paid traffic with CPA offers.

I keep reading that I should send people to a landing page first and capture their email (list building).
I totally agree with this and would love to build a list.

But I am slightly confused about what the CONTENT of my landing page should be

Example to Illustrate:

CPA Offer = Free iphone after survey fill out (I get $x )
Ad = Get your Free iphone after filling out this short survey

OPTION 1: Landing Page content = Here have a free best iphone apps guide for your soon to get new iphone -> capture their email -> then send them to CPA offer?

Is that right?

OPTION 2: Or should my ad be: "get your free best iphone apps guide now" [cause that's more relevant to the landing page?] -> then send them to free iphone CPA offer? -> then consequent related CPA offers with time?

Or do you suggest OPTION X?

Thanks for any help

Either way can work, I usually start with going directly (or with a LP) to the offer because it is easier to test.

Then I move to email list building after I find something stable.

      Thanks

Do you use a specific LP for the offer?

    I'd suggest OPTION X

    Let think outside the box!

If you think iPhone is just reward, then you could imagine many different marketing angles.

What LP should be then? .... Think! What will be happen in few days?

I'm die hard Liverpool supporter and I'm really interested in soccer games. In next Sunday, Liverpool will have a match with Man Utd.

Yeah, and I come up with match competition landing page!

My landing page will persuade visitors to vote which team gonna win and I will tell visitors that "We will random draw a lucky winner who give a right answer to get a FREE iPhone" .... (Sorry if my English sucks. It's not my language lol)

Next, put your opt-in box near the vote button and send them to the offer's page.

You will get visitor email to your list and maybe get some commission if visitor enters their email again in the offer's page.

    It's just my idea

asakura! That was an awesome response! Thank you

That's a great idea. That really helps with me trying to understand the functions of Landing Pages (LPs)

    Another Question:
Does a landing page ALWAYS ask for their email? Or is it just a place to pre-sell the CPA offer?

It depends on you dude. You might ask for email, tell them to confirm their subscribe and then send visitors to an offer's page. By doing this, it will increase your lead quality as well because if they can confirm their identity, it means that they're real people.

If you want to collect email before sending visitors to the offer's page, I suggest you to see 'Pre-pop' offer, which provide you query string (&email=) that can let visitors to submit their email in the offer's page easily.

Hi, Thanks asakura. Do you mean: Direct link them to the offer and then use a popup to offer something for free & capture their email?

If so, Would I accomplish this with some sort of iframing techniques?

No , I don't mean that you have to direct link. You need to create LP to collect emails first and then when visitors confirm email > add something like &email=(visitor's email) to the URL

(if an offer allows pre-pop, it will have this appends to the URL) and when visitor clicks that link, he will go to the offer's page that has his email in box and ready to submit.

For second question, many networks does not allow you to do iframe.

I make a custom one for each offer generally.

Does a landing page ALWAYS ask for their email? Or is it just a place to pre-sell the CPA offer?
A landing page generally refers to a page that pre-sells the offer. A squeeze page generally refers to a page that grabs the visitor's email.

    They are commonly used interchangeably.

But to answer your question either way can work. Like I stated before I start with a landing page, and then once I get that converting and stable, I'll test an email squeeze page.

There is no right or wrong answer. You should really try both and split test to see which performs better

But the first option doesnt make much sense. For an email submit, why would I capture their email, then send them to a place to have their email captured again? That doesnt sound like a very great conversion setup (I prob just answered my own question)

Well it would probably be better if you bought your own domain. You just need Wordpress (then you wont need HTML).

You would be surprised to hear that you can make good money by sending people directly to the CPA offer.

The positive side of building a list is that once you get someone to join that particular CPA offer after they opted in, you can send them more offers through email to get them into other programs.

In many cases, you can get someone on 3 or more CPA products and instead of earning $3 per lead, you now can earn $10 or more from the same person.

    That's called leverage.

I want to test something out with the poll method and had a couple questions:

-Does optimizepress have the ability to create poll landing pages? (any other methods you suggest which could be used?)
-Will facebook approve the ad since its going to a landing page or is a redirect script still needed?

Man good questions about OP - i have it - i will have to check. I hope it can do it too haha.

Yeah facebook will approve "landing pages" as long as they abide by the rules. Ive had straight out squeeze pages approved. You should have a privacy policy link easily seen etc - that's what they like.

Sometimes a landing page is not needed, if the CPA has a good landing page it could convert well.

Its true that if you take the time to build a list you should be able to make more in the long run but this is sometimes not suitable for everyone

You won't really know unless you test. Split test a LP vs direct linking. I generally use landing pages for everything. I've never done email submits though. I think it's better to capture the emails yourself to build a list.

Right now I'm focusing on LP -> API -> Offer(s) to build my lists.

To hype up and pitch the offer.

Whatever your traffic source is, look at some of your competitor ads and see what their landing pages are doing.

    Have you tried this?
