Should I Use Minimalist Landing Pages?

I am relatively new to this forum and feel that I am like an annoying child who never stops asking questions. But, if you all will suffer me a little longer, I have am looking for some more feedback.

An Affiliate Manger (more than one) told me "..your landing page should just be something to warm them up for the offer page. Do not put too much on it. Some bullet points a nice headline and maybe a good picture and that's it..."

They discouraged me from posting video, faq's or even what you and I would call a traditional squeeze page approach. In other words, don't spend time selling them. Just keep the crowd moving.

Is this sage advice? Would you say it depends on my traffic source. If I am using "buyer" keywords/phrases is the job already complete and I am overselling? Will someone welcome a video?

Why not put up 2 different landing pages and test which one converts better? Create one with what your affiliate manager told you, then create one with more stuff on it. Then split your traffic to each and track which converts better.

    What is your traffic source?
Typically I go by a similar strategy for landing pages, I only add what I need to, in some cases it's a little in some cases it's a lot.

Often if you add too much to your landing page, you are taking away the focus (which is to get people to your offer page and have them sign up for something)

It depends on your traffic source, and whether you are looking for short term conversion success or long term success. What I mean by that is if you are using paid traffic to convert quickly, a minimalist approach may be best. If you are using SEO or other forms of organic traffic, you are better off using a more robust landing page with multiple products, and pages, and focusing on driving targeted traffic for the long term. If you need further advice, please add me on skype and I will help guide you for free. I am happy to help if you would like .

What kind of traffic sources are trying to use?

Another great tip would be to check out your competitors on the traffic source. Check out their landing pages and look for commonalities.

Posting video and FAQ may make landing page contain too much information. If you are promoting offer using PPV, you need to grab visitors' attention in a sec.

Please tell me more what traffic source you are using?

Right now, 7Search. But I am looking for another search engine. Perhaps paying a little more for better quality traffic.

        AdCenter would be good choice.

But 7Search can defiantly work. I've hit $150 a day on it, which maybe not be a lot, but still good.

Jumping around a lot can really hinder your learning.

Traffic from 7Search is not good in my opinion. You should move to other good PPC networks such as AdCenter, YSM, or Bing.

Anyway, landing page optimization would help. Try to test.

Them affiliate managers who told you that need to find new line of work,

A landing page is all about selling the offer. So many things about a landing page that can help conversions and quality. I am not very open as this but them AM are idiots for telling you that.

A landing page main purpose is to sell the offer, So for them to not realize the lp is the key ingredient in getting the customer to the actual offer is one of the most important makes me ashamed there AM's in the first place.

You mean people are still using 7Search? Seriously leave that alone... The traffic from those guys is absolute garbage. I mean, sure, some people may be able to scrape in a few coins here and there, but on the whole - they actually aren't worthy of even a mention from even the most premature marketer.

There are many worthy networks out there for you to choose from... Just speak with some people in the community to gain a feel for what is working and what isn't.

Those networks all combined a long time ago to make Bing Ads.
