Greedy teaches well. But I think 1 hour won't cover all.

You don't need one on one yet. Get a foundation first.

      I agree 100%

If you are brand new, then spending some time in this forum will be more valuable than dishing out dough for a coaching sessions.

Once you have a foundation, then consider investing in coaching/mentoring. In truth, most big CPAers learned most of what they know on their own.

      Just saying

Yeah I completely agree, like I've said before look at coaching as consulting.

You are getting business advice, not someone who is going to build your business for you. Only you can do that.

So if you go into coaching with a business for the 'coach' to look at, it makes a huge difference.

unfortunately many people in this biz don't want to take those initial steps. It's unfortunate considering the benefits of actually being successful and making it rain!

So true, another thing if you are stretching your budget to hire or pay for help.

            It isn't worth for you.

I was just writing about leverage somewhere else. Outsourcing and insourcing are leverage and they will maginify your results for the better or the worse.

So make sure you are outsourcing a system/process that has been tested and proven to be efficient and effective.

              Jus sayin

CPA - What You Should Know

How do I know What CPA I Should Choose?

It does not really matter what CPA network you choose. When you are checking them out at http://www.affiliateseeking.com/netwo/23000002/1.html you will see their payment terms and conditions. This is where you must be happy with what they are offering.
You will notice that there are different payment times and different minimum amounts that will be paid out. Some will pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly but research before you commit.

How do You Get Accepted by a CPA Network?

The process is not as difficult as you may think.
The first step, after you have checked out the CPA networks at the above address, is to choose the ones you want to join. Yes, that is correct you can join multiple networks. By choosing a few networks, you will be able to find the best offers and the best commissions. You may find that different networks will advertise the same product but the commission rate varies. We would suggest 6 or 7.
The second step, in the process, is to complete your application form. Be sure that you complete all sections and if there is a section that is not applicable, please insert N/A in this section. Answer all questions as honestly as possible, but try to convey through your application, an eagerness to join the network. Before submitting your application, check your website that it has good quality content. If you do not have a website and cannot build one yourself, get a friend or professional to build one for you.
The third step, after you have submitted your application, rather than waiting for the CPA network to contact you, give them about an hour andcontact them. This tactic often allows you to be accepted immediately. They will check your application while you are on the phone.
If however, after supplying all relevant information, you are declined – move on the next network. It may be they feel you would not be able to generate the traffic they require or you are simply too new to CPA. This does not prevent you from reapplying at a later date.
The final step, after you are accepted. Go through the products and offers that are available. A good rule, if your site is in a particular niche, find products that you can advertise that visitors to your site will be interested in. This will result in more leads and sales and more commission for you.
What Type of Website will Allow me to be Accepted?

This is a question that a lot of applicants ask. We will give you some guideline that may help.
You must remember that the CPA network managers check your application and your website. These managers will only accept you if they believe that you are serious about promoting their offers or products. Please make sure that the website you use in your application does not break any of the terms and conditions of the network.
Your website will most likely be rejected it has any of the following:
    · Violence
    · Racism
    · Pornography
    · Not full of quality content applicable to your particular niche
    · Gambling
    · Sexism
    · Ensure you do not have an “ugly” site where the content is all scattered.
What you must do with your site is to have:
    · Good quality content
    · Sufficient space to allow you to advertise the product or offer
    · A good domain name which is applicable to your niche.
Do some Offers have a certain Time Life?

Yes, offers can expire at a certain time or they can be withdrawn. Check their expected expiry when you are choosing an offer or product. You must monitor any campaigns you are involved in. Your affiliate manager should advise you of any changes but this can sometimes be up to a few hours after the campaign has ceased. If you monitor your own campaigns and something changes, always immediately stop your advertising campaign. If you fail to do this – your advertising money is just being wasted.

With regards CPA what does EPC Mean?

EPC stands for Earning Per Click. This is the average amount you are paid when someone clicks on your advertisement. Remember as an offer or product has been around for a length of time, the EPC will decrease. The longer the campaign continues – the lower the offer.
What are the Best CPA Offers?

When you go through any CPA network you will find a lot of different categories. It is most advisable to pick offers/products that are complimentary to your site. You may be in the Health and Beauty niche and you may want to focus only on lead generating offers. To generate the lead requires your visitor to have to give less information than if you were offering a product. You are therefore paid according to amount of information that is required. It may be as easy as a telephone number or an email address. The lead might only pay .75 cents but people are more willing to give this if they believe that are going to receive what has been advertised. If 100 people were willing to give that information per day – that is $75.00.
Free offers usually score highly with visitors to your site. They may only have to give their name and address to secure the offer and they willing complete the details. The lead payment you receive again may be around the $1 mark but there may be many conversions from your visitors. These are known as “low involvement “offers.

How Many Offers or Products Can I Promote?

This is dependent on the amount of sites you have and if they are in different niches or the same niche. If you are using keywords to promote your offers or products, make sure you check with Google keyword research tool. This will help with your PPC advertising.
You may even come across a product that you want to promote so you will build a new site. If you do this try and get a domain name that reflects the offer or product. When you are constantly monitoring yourcampaigns, you will see which are the most successful. If you are not getting conversions simply change product. It is relatively easy to change the banners or ads.
When you are considering an offer or product, think of it from the visitors or buyers point of view. It may be something that you would never want but there may be a million people out there that want it.
How Do You Compare CPA Offers?

You want to find something that is hot and popular and this is where your affiliate manager can help. Usually they will email you each week with new and “hot” products and any other campaigns that have changed. If a product has been around for a long period of time, it might not be a good seller. All the interested people have already purchased it.
It is not always the highest paying offer that is the best. It is sometimes better to settle for a lower return that will return more clicks – therefore a greater return on your advertising dollar.
What is the Best Form of Advertising for Your CPA Offer?

Again this is a matter of choice for the person advertising the offer or product. If you are diligent and get the right key words, you may want to use PPC. You could advertise on Google, Yahoo or MSN, using this method.
Article writing is another strategy you can use. Make sure they are keyword enriched and will entice the buyer to purchase.
Blogs are another method to increase the popular of your site and promote the CPA offer. Two of the best are wordpress and blogger.
If you have a large email list, sending emails could be the best way to go. Some CPA sites have sample emails available.
Using banners is another method to employ. Again the CPA network usually provides different size banners. Remember they want you to be able to provide them with leads.
How do I Track my Campaigns?

The CPA network usually has a form of tracking where you can see how you are going. If you are using PPC, the company you are with will also be able to track what is happening. This can be adjusted but if you fail to do so, you could lose money. There is often going to be a timing discrepancy between these two methods. One may be lagging several hours behind the other. If using PPC, make sure you set a daily budget.
By constantly monitoring your campaigns, you will know if you are getting a return on your investment. This is a fast way to either increase or decrease your advertising or to change the product or services you are offering.

My $0.02 - work to get an internship/commission only placement at an affiliate network.

This would be the best way to initially learn about this business.

Also - visit as many conferences as possible. Affiliate Summit/Ad Tech/OM Expo/DM Expo - all great places to start.

You can get a job doing commission only placement working with a CPA network just by join any network.

But I highly agree meeting real people at the conferences is huge! A must do!

hahaha - yes you are right to a degree.

Many of my associates will employ AM/Biz Dev on a commission only, no basic basis, especially for remote staff.

I'm a great believer in learning by osmosis, and have seen the rapid speed at which guys who've been fresh into the business, have really learnt the intricacies of the business within a matter of 6 months working alongside veterans within a corporate environment. The contacts which one makes doing this are incredibly valuable too.

However, everybody learns differently, and everyone must find what works for them.
