Adbrite is Closing as of Feb 1

Just got this email:
Dear adBrite Publisher,

Over the last few weeks, adBrite and its management have been evaluating the go-forward plan for the business. Given market conditions and certain financial liabilities, in working with our lenders, we have decided to cease operations on Feb 1, 2013.

This is a difficult decision for all of us at adBrite. However, after much deliberation this seems to be the best course of action despite the impact it will have on all the employees, clients and partners who helped build this business. There will be a team in place as needed to assist with winding down.
Thank you for being part of the adBrite community.

Gotta go update some websites....

I wonder if that has to do with Googles updates and aff sites not ranking and killing their revenue? Hmmm...?

Hmm that is unfortunate to hear.

I've hit about $80 on adbrite about 2 years ago, but over the years it hasn't been as good to me.

Still hate to see them go.

    Thanks for the update.

Well, they had horrible traffic, bad support...this killed them. Moreover, the most important, they got about 40 million $ in funding...on that amount you have some pretty high expectations.

Sad to see them go, actually this message shook me. I was planning to setup the ads on some of my projects.

Thanks for letting me know, Kirk.

Hey Amilie. Who did you decide to go to with your ads? We'll be happy to see if we can help you. We are getting a lot of Adbrite users and are aiming to prove higher eCPMs. could be interesting to give it a try.

Adbrite had become difficult to work with over the last couple of years. I am not surprised to see them go but it is always sad to see an I.M company go under.

I tested Adbrite a year ago, and already that time. They did have much to offer. However, still, it's sad that there are not some more alternatives to Adsense.

@malchiang - shit traffic? run shit offers ;-) all traffic can be monetized :-)

BTJunkie was the main placement on AdBrite. After BT Junkie closed, all that was left is the long tail. They tried to open up some exchange based buying, I think with Rubicon, Pubmatic etc, but their platform was far inferior to other DSPs, Appnexus, Sitescout etc.

Hence why I would suggest they closed doors.

Sad to see they go... But there are many other media buying platforms out there (some of them actually way better than AdBrite), so it shouldn't be a major problem for most affiliates.
