Landing Page for email subs and & 7 Search

Hi,

I have run an email submit before just by direct linking and had some success. But I was wondering if its worth using a landing page too?
Doesn't seem to make sense to me that it would be better though because they are another step away from the submit page.

True, but I like to build my own list and then use the email submit as the "Thank You" page (look for pre-pops). Might be worth a shot

I've see something like that before on JohnChow.com. Are you using it to send them more email subs of any niche or niche specific to the initial offer?

I would try to keep it related to whatever they initially opted in for. If your angle is coupons then mail them coupons you've found and mix in affiliate offers. You need to have an angle and a reason they're going to sign up for your list. I would send them an initial email just introducing yourself and building trust.

Here are two articles from my blog that explain different approaches to email marketing. I am sure you can find quite a bit here on WarriorForum too Of course, let me know if you have any specific questions

It's always worth testing between a landing page and direct linking

Yeah give it a shot, but keep the landing page looking almost identical to the offer.

You want things to flow as smooth as possible.

I'm not being rude, but this is where I fail to see the logic in LP's. If it looks almost identical then how have things been improved by putting another step between them and the submit page?

I think they mean it should have the same theme. It should look like they belong to the same family but not necessarily be identical twins.

If the landing page can't warm up the crowd before the big act or at least pick their pocket for an email address you can use later, then don't bother with it.

Say it is a dating offer, and you were targeting fat guys, you could be put something like... "Women looking for Large Men."

Just a random example, but it sure would make most bigger guys want to join.

Just go look at what you competition is doing and try it. Don't take my word for it. Test test test.

This is a good point. I've also heard that by initially engaging them to click (LP), it will continue a path of engagement for them subconsciously on to the 2nd page form.

Wahey, there's my first post! (I'm a big time lurker)

Yup very true, when ringtones were bigger people would use landing pages that had the visitor click on their carrier's logo just to get them clicking.

Didn't even sell it to them much at all.

Like what Greedy said. If you are unsure, always do split test and test the results.

In most cases where your LP is good, It usually converts better than without. But always test to make sure.

One of the ways is to have similar design LP and offer page so users believe it is a flow. In other cases, i like to create a LP to lead them to my offer page like telling them a story.
