HELP: How to gain Affiliates in our program

I am sort of new to this whole Affiliate marketing thing. I was hired at a Solar installation company as Social Media marketing manager and before the first month was over, I found myself running a complete affiliate program for them. Now, after countless hours of researching & development, the program is finally ready to accept affiliates. One problem, I don't really know how to get them to join! I have submitted the program to about 13 different affiliate directories (TwistDirectory, AffiliateSeeking, etc.) no not much avail. Mind you, the porgram has only been up for about a week but I can't help but be uneasy about how to drum up affiliates, let alone quality ones. I have tried ClickBank and they seem to need a digital product or some way to handle payments through their system. We are already with PostAffiliatePro.com for our Affiliate tracking so it seems a bit redundant to have them handling commissions as well. Same thing with Share-a-sale. I just want to get the word out to potential affiliates to get some quality sign-ups more than anything.

Our program may be a tough one to promote (we are selling Solar Power System installations in California) but we are also offering affiliates $25 per sales lead generated. So far, only one affiliate has tried to sign up and he seems to live in Vietnam & not speak english as is evidenced by his lack of response to any of my e-mails.

I am going to need some Warrior help and tips on how to get the word out about my affiliate program. Can someone help me out?

It seems to me what you really want to do is have a reseller program and recruit for that, and have a lead generation program. For the lead gen side you are looking at a CPA firm, not CJ or so forth.

Selling this sort of thing is not just a sign up and go, like buying a generator or something like that. You need quality leads to provide to resellers in your target markets. Also, I think you will want to approve, manually every applicant to see how if they are up to this. This is not some sort of dating thing, email or zip submit.

BTW, Clickbank is JUST digital products.

Maybe try some offline promotion. For example try to cooperate with some pro-enviorment institutions, give them brochure where you describe your business. Then they can put brochures in the visible spot and people who will come there will be able to take them and read about your products. I think many of them will do it for free.

Don't give up and test more affiliate networks which allows to target audience.

You should go to Shareasale, Comission Junction or any other bigger Affiliate Program provider website and post your program there. If your landing page is alright, then you can collect quite a good amount of affiliates to promote your product.

I would love to use one of those sites but CJ is a bit pricey, especially if you plan on running the affiliate backend yourself through PostAffiliatePro's software. And I am having trouble finding the best way to integrate Share-A-Sale into the program we have going as well.

I guess we just need some sites that would serve as affiliate directories to help us get the word about our program to the right potential affiliates. Does anyone know if there is a way to use Share-A-Sale without using their tracking cookies or sending them a deposit if we want to handle the funds in-house?
