Tracking sales sent to vendor.

How do people track sales from traffic sent to a vendors page since we can't add code to that page?

I have heard of i-framing the vendor's site but know some (most?) vendors/networks do not approve of i-framing.

Thanks

  • I think you can just ask them to put your tracking pixel on their page.

    • sounds like your using CB, you will need contact the vendor. as Gordon P stated.
Or create your own product and you will be able to track your conversions.
With most cpa network you could just ask your AM.
  • you need to ask the vendor for a tracking link
  • What is your relationship with the vendor?

Most affiliate networks provide some mechanism for doing your own tracking: either a parameter you can pass in through the URL which will appear in your commission reports ("subids"), a box to put a tracking pixel into which they'll inject into the merchant's site for you, or a postback URL where they'll send an HTTP POST request to when a sale occurs.
  • best answer is that you should consult to the vendor yourself else you have no other option available.
  • Tracking pixel or postback URL usually.

You have to talk to your vender / cpa network to place it.

    • Good luck, talk to your affiliate manager if you get stuck.
