How does high CTR = low CPC? [facebook]

Because you are paying per click, so with a higher click rate, you'll be giving Facebook more money faster per impressions.

So Facebook like this, so they lower your cost.

Also a high CTR Facebook like because it shows their users like your ads.

Are you referring to ads based upon the CPC model, or CPM (cost per thousand impressions)? If you're advertising via CPM, you're paying a flat rate based upon the amount of views. Therefore, if you get a higher CTR, the cost per click will be lower.

So, even though at the start of a campaign where the suggested bid is outragiously high [3-5$] should i start near $5 and then over time if my CTR is good should the bid suggestion lower?

Don't know why but sometimes facebook shows outrageously high estimated cpc. You won't pay that much.

I usually set my bid low at .20 - .50 as an example, and if I'm not getting any clicks, slowly raise it, til I do.

No I'm talking about Cpc.

It seems as though the estimated cpc takes in to account the projected ctr . If you have never run a cpc campaign on facebook there is no data to go on so the estimated cpc is way high. At least that is my interpretation of it.

Yeah, I paid like $1.11 a click, CTR was about .017% disappointingly.
Starting to wonder if Google Adwords will be a better choice, as I hear the bids are much much less.
