I'm finally, finally, finally profitable on POF! Thank you for all the encouraging words out here to never give up!!!

I do have a question though....how can it be that if I ramp up my bids, my conversion goes down or stays the same (losing money?

Higher the bid, the sooner your ads will be delivered "before" those bidding less. Thus, giving you a "better" chance at conversion. (right?)

So how can it be on a day and I time I know converts well...if I upped my bid 10 cents, then 20 cents, then 30 cents and I see less conversions....

All kicks to the head are welcomed....

You actually have a lot of control over this. PoF has a targeting option called "Session Depth", with it you can only target the users that have recently logged in.

Here's an excerpt from a PoF guide I wrote regarding this:

Session Depth, Login Count, Ads Clicked

Play with the "Session Depth" targeting parameters. Setting it to less than 5 usually works very well. This will serve your ads only to users that have checked out less than 5 pages since they logged in. If the users doesn't click an ad within the first 10-15 pages he views on pof since the login, there's a good chance he's not gonna click anything during his pof session. So this parameter is extremely useful for narrowing down the quaility traffic.

You have a feature there to target only newer users, users that have only logged in just a few times, those are way more responsive that than the seasoned users. This is the "login count" parameter. Use it to your advantage! Set it to less than hundred, or less than fifty for best results.

Also, play with the "ads clicked" parameter which is also very useful.

    Here's the whole guide:

Dont forget that experience over time on the site can have an affect, too.
Perhaps the user is not finding what they are looking for - so after a period of time on POF, they finally decide to try something else that appears more targeted to what they want.

Related to what Bonadza mentioned, you need to give us more info on your targettng.

How much data are you talking about number-wise?

        Sure thing, thanks.

Have you tested different offers yet?

I'm still sticking with one offer (not the same one last year) and only targeting females at the moment. 1 offer, one gender, angles, US only. You guys told me this...and this is what I'm doing until I feel comfortable adding another offer.

Thank you warriors for your help along the way. Far from knowing everything....but hap-hap-happy that I'm not losing and starting to see small profits!!!

I would suggest rotating between two offers, an easy to really increase you profits is by finding a higher converting offer.

Are you saying find an offer that is "similar" to what I am currently running and see if that one converts better? Do you do this this testing through the LP rotator?

    Yes.

Do you do this this testing through the LP rotator?
Are you talking in regards to Tracking202, if so no.

The rotator seems to be the best way and you say no.... That way I would not need to create new creatives....just repurpose the ones I have...how without recreating?

Also...do you run session depth? I know about login count....but everything I've read about session depth has stated better CTR but the jury is still out on a true lift in conversions.

You don't use their LP rotator, you set it rotate offers. You don't want to rotate your LP.

And yes, I always run session depth and login out.

Bear with me Greedy....and for those coming by....but if I have an offer on a network.....and I find the SAME offer on another network, am I testing to see which network gives the most conversions? That just blows my mind if true.....I mean....is there intervention by the network on the leads?

BTW....I found the rotator for offers.....but if I'm using a LP rotator already....do I have an offer rotator pointing to the LP rotator.

      Sorry for all the questions.....thanks....

This is exactly it, always split test between different offers and different networks to see what works best, you might be surprised of the results

I see the complete opposite when I'm running facebook ads. If I use optimized cpm instead of manual bidding my clicks and ctr overall is through the roof.

I'd assume that POF doesn't have a very high CTR across the board I assume this because your higher bid gives you the chance to show up more often. Try a new ad copy with a better picture since you already know your getting more impressions.

There are lots of variables. Server speeds ect...

    But also test similar offers.

again....I'm so sorry if I'm overstepping my bounds here....but I simply want to do this right for rotating offers.

I'm currently running a dating offer on POF, US only and I HAVE a LP rotator running for this. So if I want to add additional offers, is it as simply as going to my tracking (P202), Setup, #3, then choose "rotate URL's" and add the additional offers from different platforms? My LP's are branded with the original offer, so I guess I need to keep the LP's bland with no branding on them....right?

My fear is that I read info. about rotating offers and in P202 I need to set up a rotator .php page and have my link point to that.....

      Thanks for bearing with me......

I said before you aren't suppose use the LP rotator.

Just test it both ways and see what works.
