My cpc "below first page bid"?

I'm new to google ads and have just set up my first campaign.

After selecting my keywords, I went and visited them using Google search engine and some of them didn't have any adverts on the right (which is where I believe they should be)

But according to Google, my max cpc is below first page bid.
How can that be when there are no adverts on the first page on some of my keywords.

Getting me very confused

  • You might not be seeing ads because you're accessing google from a different region.
Example, if you're from Spain and viewing the keywords for an adwords campaign which is targeting the USA, you will get different results, since google will show you ads targeted for Spain (if such exist).

Use the Adwords Preview tool to properly view the ads:
    https://adwords.google.com/d/AdPrevi...__c=1000000000

Also, there is the possibility that even with no ads, you can get the "below first page bid" message. This happens if your ads get a low quality score, which basically means that Adwords thinks that your content is poor or the ads are irrelevant to the content you're promoting.
  • If your campaign is new, your QS probably sucks, so just bid very high until you get a good CTR, then it will be easy to low the bid and CPC.

  • Yes, what is your quality score?

Also, your budget could be spread out through the day.

And even then Google doesn't show you ad every time, there are many factors.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Tweak things and check back later.

    • I'm confused.
I don't seem to have a quality score.
I have about 30 different keywords as that's what I read I should do.

Should I have a lot less keywords then?
