Prosper202 in shared server or VPS

I read lot of articles about Prosper202 hosting is better in VPS. Why this tracking script not running well in shared server. Website with tons of visitors are running smoothly in shared server like HostGator. As a newbie can i spend money for VPS first?

Installing Self hosted Propsper202 in VPS or tracking202 Pro ($150 Monthly) . Which one is better?

To be honest with you i won`t ever use shared hosting to track my paid traffic , Reason is simple i am paying for each and every single visitor out of my pocket and i won`t ever like it if my visitors exit the window during redirection process due to slow redirection ... For me this business is my bread and butter and i wont ever like to rely on cheap services instead i take it as business and always try my best to get best solution possible for my business...

You can start off with beyond Hosting VPS starter package costs $45/month + they will install prosper for you

for discount coupon check out What VPS Package you should choose for trackers

I think it's always a better option to "own your data" by hosting it on your VPS, rather than it being stored on someone else's database..

    Hey man,

I had the same problem and learned it hard way not to rely on shared hosting while tracking with P202,

What happens is you'll think everything seems cool and all but your P202 won't track a jack in the backend when traffic will stat coming,

In my case, my ad network had sent around 377 clicks and my P202 tracked only 19 clicks ( And here's the bummer, out of that 19 clicks, 6 were mine )

So now I am thinking about getting hostgator VPS level 3 fully managed plan that starts at like $29 and around $50 each month after that.

Warriors, Let me know if you know any recommendation for other VPS plans or you think Hostgator VPS level 3 fully manage won't be a good idea.

I agree, I also recommend getting a VPS. Check out something with Solid State Drives (SSDs) like Beyond Hosting or Liquid Web.

VPS is always better, take a look at Beyond. They are a hosting company by affiliates for affiliates.

I have a 6 months discount coupon in my blog if you are interested.

I'd say at least vps, preferably dedicated. If your just starting off find a vps that is reasonable and that will let you upgrade your package on the fly so you can add more power as you need it.

A VPS for sure, however a VPS on its own can be just as bad as a shared account - Aside from resources, they are the same thing. I dont think people realize this.

Regardless of of how powerful your server is, if its not setup right, it will still suck!
