What To Offer On a Landing Page?

I'm a total noob as far as CPA goes and having trouble understanding a few aspects of it. I hope someone here can help.

Ok, so i keep reading that direct linking doesn't work and it would be better to create a landing page to capture emails so you can send offers again and again etc.

what i don't get is.. if you ask for their email on your landing page, wont they be put off entering their details again on the actual cpa offer page?

I was thinking of promoting CPA PC Backup stuff but if i capture peoples emails what could I possibly offer them after?

Does building a list even make sense in this niche?

Hope someone can share some of their wisdom on this.

    Hi Art.

I didn't think of it that way - thanks!

    Can anyone else chime in?

It depends on your niche and what offers you're promoting. Some offers don't allow email traffic, so it'd be no use building a list around it.

The main reason why you want to build a landing page is to pre-sell the CPA offer you're promoting.

I think this is a great idea, i never used it. So it's good to make a subscribe letters, and than send all info...I think it can work for all the websites, becouse on each article or something you post you send to your subscribers that are interested in this, i must add this option.

Every landing page doesn't have to be a squeeze page. It could just be a page used to pitch the offer before linking to it.

Along with Art said, you could promote the same offers to them. Since many people will not sign up on the first time they are shown the offer.

You could also use the emails to pitch/explain the offer better.

It could you need to test both.

      This.

I never capture email addresses on my landing page?

      Should I? Probably.

      But I don't.

Why? Because it would add more work to everything I do. I'd have to send out a weekly or bi-weekly email to the list to keep it fresh.

I guess I'm just lazy, but I have plenty of success not asking for any info from people that hit my landing pages.

If you choose to use a squeeze page instead of a landing page, don't send them to the offer directly after they opt-in. Send them to whatever it is you promised them in exchange for their email address. After you fulfill that promise, send them an email with the offer you're promoting.

Or, you could tie in the pc backup offer in the end of the "bribe" that you're giving them to enter their email address.
