I'm planning on buying a domain name from hostgator then redirecting to a cpa offer?

Do facebook allow redirects to affiliate links?
#ad networks (cpm/cpl, display) #facebook #ppc #redirects
  • Yes. I recommend using a meta refresh:

    HTML Code:
    <!doctype html>
    <html lang="en">

    <head>

    	<meta charset="utf-8" />
    	<title>Page Title</title>
    	<meta name="description" content="" />

    	<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://www.lukepeerfly.com">

    </head>

    <body>

    <p>One moment...</p>

    </body>

    </html>

    • I just phoned facebook advertising and they told me I'm not allowed to redirect to an affiliate link.

      So I'm getting conflicting answers which is confusing.

      I will request a callback asking this question with the link I want to advertise.

    • Didn't know facebook allows it? Do you Redirect to the affiliate link or a page that contains your aff link, banner, iframe, etc.?

      thanks...

  • Yes you can, but most of the time you should at least split test with your own landing page

    • will do it...thanks
  • ...why would you recommend "meta tags" over "php"?!?

    • It's a different type of redirect. If you wanted to add a retargeting pixel, the Facebook meta tags, or anything like that you'd be able to do that easily

      I've gotten many more links with meta refresh approved than PHP redirect.
  • You could pass the variables through a php redirect too, but if you're not comfortable with coding, go with the meta redirect.

    • You can also pass variables using a meta refresh with PHP.
  • Yes you can. Recently I did same and Got the ad approved. But if you call them and ask they will definitely say you no.

    • Yea, I phoned them and they said no in terms of redirecting to an affiliate link.
  • weird... I thought facebook is pretty strict regarding redirects.
  • Yes they allow it. I'd recommend you to use HTML/Javascript/PHP redirection, each one is prefect for your needs.
  • WEll I am not so experienced person to giving you advice but your idea is good, it gona work . keep going.
  • Wondering if Facebook still allows this...that code Luke provided seems to no longer work..at least not for me...

    • Should work absolutely fine. I use it still and actually built a tool into FPTraffic that allows you to create links using this same script in just a few seconds. I'm seeing consistent traffic and approvals

  • One more case in point, they do't allow linking to prosper 202 tracking.

    There's a difference in what policy allows and what you can get a way with, I have noticed that even paused campaign links are still getting visits from Facebook, so the chances of slipping in a redirect after initial approval might not fly for long.
  • Hmm if not allowed linking to p202, so how we track?

    Use landing pages?

    I have test if using lp , fb allowed it
    But if directlinking to our p202 url , fb autoblock the links.

  • I've never had that happen. If you create your own redirect page you shouldn't have any issues.
  • What about using iFram?
  • iFrame leaks the referrer ,therefore direct redirect is better than iframe
