I started a simple campaign 4 days ago on pof to kind of look around learn the basics and get my feet wet. And to be honest I'm kind of shocked by the low volume. I probabaly have done something wrong to get such low volumes. My targetting doesn't seem to be that tight and my bids seem to be on the higher range especially for the last few days. Are these volumes normal for pof?

Target : Female, US, age 40-50 , login count < 50

  • POF gets a while to get used to to make it a good traffic source. Trial and error makes perfect on your campaigns. keep altering your demographics that you are targeting and monitor your ctr

    PoF is a dating site and you will not find large volumes like facebook etc.However you can try to test different demographics .

    The volume is probably low due to your targeting. Also I'd recommend testing different ads to bring that ctr up, that will also help you get more volume to your offer(s)

      I'm testing more than 20 creatives. Some of them have 0.1+ ctrs. I just test new creatives all the time that is why the overall ctr is low.

    Remove the login count targeting. Won't help much.
    You are limiting your volume that way.

    Instead do broad targeting and frequency cap

      Really? Every single case study I have come across emphasizes on the importance of login count being lower than 50. I thought that the lower the login count the better my chances of converting the lead.

      I must say ive never heard this one before. You want to separate your login counts but create different campaigns to target different login counts.

    There isnt much volume in the 40-50 age mark. Try 21+ or 30+.

    As a beginner, 3 things you should keep in mind while making the campaigns.

    1. Take advantage of their targeting, but don't be over restricted with that.
    2.Use the Ad tag avaiable on there website.
    There are three different tags available:
    • {gender:default}
    • {age:default}
    • {state:default}
    3. Demographic research tool

    I suggest collecting demographic data from Quantcast
