Possible Solo Ad Scam

Hi All,

Yesterday I purchased my first solo ad from a seller at safe-swaps.

I set-up pretty links for tracking on my end and safe swaps also have
their own system for tracking.

I purchased 105 clicks, at the end my tracking stats were 117 clicks received,
and safe swaps was 100 clicks.

My issue is when I look at the ip addresses on both sets of stats, the bulk of the clicks (79) are spread over just 4 ip addresses.

So as I understand this 4 people have generated 79 clicks on my 105 click solo ad purchase.

Is this correct?

Thanks in advance.

Safe swaps is supposed to "not count" any non-unique clicks you receive. So if it's only 4 IP addresses that should be only 4 clicks...

But if this is the case and somehow they did scam you (which is what it sounds like). You can report them to Safe Swaps and also give them an appropriate rating so others aren't scammed as well.

There are plenty of folks who try to scam folks with Solo Ads - the cool part about being a member of Safe-Swaps (I'm a double hall of fame member for almost 3 years) is that there is a ton of feedback available from other members. Use this feedback next time when purchasing a solo ad and you can usually avoid the scammers.

Of course Safe Swaps is just like any other community and will have it's bad apples. Just do your job of reporting the bad apples and it'll help keep the community clean.

    Cheers,
    Coby

Definitely make sure you mention that in your review on the seller.

And make sure you're checking reviews before you purchase too. There's no shortage of solo ad sellers who will send bot traffic in exchange for a few bucks.

Call em out and let everyone know when it happens to you.

        I appreciate the feedback guys..

I guess the "safe" part of safe-swaps probably means something like "as safe as we can possibly be"

I messaged the seller about this and his response was that he mails through
        Amazon Simple Email Service..

I'm not to sure what influence this would have on the ip address being like they were..

To add salt to my bruised ego, when I placed the order yesterday for some reason he was unable to send it the first time so he advised me to cancel my order and do a new order, so I think that results in me having negative feedback on my account..

I'll put it all down to a learning experience and source solos elsewhere next time..

Coby is right. Safe-Swaps will suffer if folks don't report bad experiences.

Always try to resolve amicably with the solo or swap partner first and get an explanation if there is one. However, don't be afraid to stand your ground and call out the bad guys via your rating and by reporting them if necessary.

It's a real shame that some solo ad sellers are out to take your money
and not provide a real service.

I've been scammed a couple of times too and it's not a nice feeling.

There are still some real honest, decent and reliable solo ad sellers
    out there though.

I'm currently running a 200 click package I've recently purchased
from a great seller and he's managed to send me some buyers,
mixed in with US, UK, CAN & AU traffic also.

This is the thing though guys...

...I now know I can purchase more from this seller and he sees more
business and I also see more business.

I just don't get how these people work!

They won't get any more business and I sincerely hope you
report him so others can't get ripped off too.

Thanks for the heads up to all here my friend.

Stay vigilant but don't let it put you off buying solo ads as they can be
fantastic value for money once you find the honest sellers out there.

    All the best everyone.

Thank you all for your feedback,

I have left a message with the seller asking to rectify this matter..

(He is currently off line at the moment)

If we can't resolve this amicably then I will post a scathing review..

I have been scammed a couple of times on Safe Swaps, but I ALWAYS leave it in the feedback and report it appropriately.

I know others have said it, but I will say it too....be sure to check the ratings from others before buying.

Don't let one bad experience scare you away from good solo providers though. You can PM me if you want a list of ones that I have used successfully with good results.

Yes, I will be leaving my feedback, at the moment just waiting on a response from the seller to my last message to him..

Even if I don't get my money back, I have gained somewhat in from this experience..

I had just launched a brand new sales funnel and wanted to test it out with some quick traffic..

After looking through many sellers that were booked out for about 2 weeks or more..

A message notification came through from this seller, offering an immediate mail out and for a price that was cheaper than most of the other sellers..

Being all excited at finishing my funnel and in a hurry to test it, I jumped on the offer..

The lesson in this for me is there is a reason some sellers are booked up and a reason others aren't..

Even though he had a 100% positive rating,
he still needed to make a sale that day..

And my rational thought had gone out the window with my need to test ASAP..

Another point for, "sales are made through appealing to the emotions rather than the logic" team..

yeah people are dishonest. Network with the solo seller first and pre qualify them first. Ask them where the traffic comes from, how they get it and read what others say....

If they do not reply or talk I just move on and find another one.

Keep a folder on your desktop and keep track of who you buy from and over time you will build yourself a list of vendors.

Safe Swaps & Udimi are not the best places to buy solos. Loaded with sub-par sellers, amateurs, punters, and people who do "solo arbitrage" (middle man).

You need to look in the Facebook solo seller groups. Those are where the best sellers are.

Most of the top sellers do not sell on Udimi, Safe Swaps, or any of the other solo ad sites because of the fact that they don't count valid clicks. People who used to sell on those sites have reported having to send 200 valid clicks just to register 110 good clicks.

I bought more than 50 solos from those sites and got a positive on ROI on maybe 4 or 5 of them. Using the vendors I got from the Facebook groups, it's the complete opposite. Out of 50 solo ads, I might end up with a negative ROI on maybe 4 or 5 of them.

As far as ad swapping and the ridiculous method called "click banking," those methods will get you a lot of subscribers, but 95% of them are junk and probably on about 500 other IM/MMO lists. Not to mention the fact that if you get doing either one of those things and you get caught by your AR they will most likely shut you down.

People often claim that the lead quality with solo ads is poor, but I've definitely found this to be untrue. Maybe it's the fact that I have literally purchased from hundreds of vendors, and now I have it narrowed down to 20-25 regular vendors that I purchase from, and I always have a great experience with them.

When it comes to solo ads, the two most important factors are the quality of the seller's traffic, and the effectiveness of your squeeze page. I'm able to achieve at least a 40% opt-in rate 99% of the time, and I almost always make at least 1-2 sales per 40-50 opt-ins. My goal is only to cover the cost of the solo. People often try and use solo ads as a money making tool, and the solo ads themselves are not how you should try and make money. Nurturing and selling to the subscribers you get from the solo ads is how you make real money. As long as you cover the cost of the solo you get your leads for free. It's then up to you what you do with those leads that will determine whether or not you make money from your list.

I've been talking about only using veteran vendors from the Facebook solo groups for a long time, and a lot of people still try and use the solo ad sites. I'm not saying that you won't find a quality vendor here and there on those sites, but it's not where the top sellers are. If I'm going to pay $50, $60, or sometimes even more for 100 tier 1 clicks, then I want to buy from the absolute best vendors possible.

These are the three best groups on Facebook to find top vendors:

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/SoloAdsTestimonials/

This group allows only testimonials from solo ad buyers who made sales, so these sellers are top notch:

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/salestestimonials/

This is another group where I have found quite a few good vendors:

Around 75% of the almost 55,000 subscibers on my MMO list came from solo ads.

I can't say how they compare to other paid traffic as far as sales go because I never tried keeping track of it.

All I can say is that I do pretty well for myself and make quite a few sales from my list every day.

I'm sure there are other paid traffic sources out there that are better, but they are also more expensive.

The majority of my leads I've basically gotten for free, as I promote CPA products that pay between $75-$100 per sale. This way I only need to make one sale per 100 click solo buy to achieve a positive ROI. Not hard if you have a good seller and a good funnel.

Currently as it stands, probably about 90% of Solo Ads sellers are scammers and they know it.

Currently I know of three sites so far with legitimate solo ads.

However ArcaMax also has different lists, so you can count that one itself as a few diffferent ones.

So only Stick to SelfGrowth.com, ArcaMax, and MoneyMakingMommy, for Your solo ads

          I have to disagree.

I have found well over 100 incredible sellers and they have all come from the 3 Facebook groups I listed above. I have built a list in the "make money online" niche of almost 55,000 subscribers all from solo ads purchased from sellers I found on Facebook and this forum (not counting hundreds or thousands who have unsubscribed in the 4 years I have been buying solo ads).

My list kicks ass and I have absolutely no problem making lots of sales.

I would avoid any solo ad site because that is not where the great sellers are.

As far as 90% of the sellers on Facebook being scammers, that is the most ridiculous statement I have heard about solo ads in a long time. I wonder where you came up with that figure?

I have said this before and I've said it again: If you are failing miserably with solo ads it's most likely YOUR fault, not the seller.

I probably know well over 50 marketers who are crushing it with solo ads. It's all about knowing how to do it.

It's the same as any other form of paid traffic. If you don't know what you are doing you will lose your shirt.

If you do know what you're doing, you'll crush it.

IF they are so credible, then let the people wait no longer....

            Who are they?

Where did I get 90%. Great question.

I went through many of the Facebook groups, I noticed the people leaving reviews and I started messaging them.

At first I was asking about their purchase, but after a while I quickly found out that most of these reviewers are actually sellers.

So I then started messaging them with "Do you sell solo ads"

90% of those people would say yes!

Esspecually the ridiculous reviews of 1,000's of clicks and one guy went as far as saying he bought 10,000 clicks.

So you have all of these solo ad scammers *cough* sellers, leaving glowing reviews for one another.

Then good hardworking people come along, not knowing this fact, and believe them in their scam.

So in my research, I've found who is actually legitimate and have provided that to people so they can know who to trust and who not To trust.

As I continue to research more, I'll leave more resources for them.

You apparently have a whole slough of great resources, so why not share them for the people.

Keep in mind, those resources will be looked into. If they're as good as you say they are, bingo.

If not..... well we know who's name gets dragged through the mud.

Just avoid the scammy people from the solo ads Facebook groups and testimonial reviews Facebook groups.

A few places you can trust are

    Selfgrowth.com
    ArcaMax
    Moneymakingmommy

    Those three are 100% legitimate.

I'm still looking into more trustworthy places.

If you got that many clicks from just 4 unique IPs then you definitely got scammed and if you don't report it you would be doing an injustice to the other buyers.

I'd recommend you find 3-5 trusted sellers and only work with them. I buy thousands of solos a week but only use a couple people and have used them for a long time now.

^ Nicheblogger did release a product about the best and safest solo ad vendors to buy/pick from a while back.

Did he release that or did he get that as a PLR?

We won't mention the push button profits system.... *roll my eyes at that one*

How am I supposed to take you serious with something like that.

As for the PLR of Solo ad Rolodex. Be cautious. Very cautious.

Anyone can go through websites, gather up 100 names and throw them together into a PDF.

A word to anyone looking into doing solo ads.

      - Ask the seller how they get their subscribers.

      - What are their current marketing efforts for traffic.

      - Get their traffic and website details yourself and from them

They'll be happy to share this with you.

At least places like ArcaMax, SelfGrowth, and moneymakingmommy sure do.

If the seller is a con artist, This is the best way to stop them in their tracks.

I'm not sure what "push button profits system" you are referring to, as I never created any product like that. I'm in the "biz opp" niche, and sure, it's possible I promoted a product that may have had those words in the copy somewhere. I really don't know. I've promoted THOUSANDS of products in the "biz opp" niche, and so has every other marketer in that niche.

Also, I promote a CPA offer after opt-in and sometimes if that offer gets paused or become unavailable, the CPA company will simply redirect the link to another offer. Sometimes that happens and then I could potentially be promoting an offer without my knowledge. Anyway, those CPA offers convert great, so it really doesn't matter to me if they get switched out once in a while. It's beyond my control. I try and check all of my offers at least once a week, but I have tons of them so it's difficult. If that makes it difficult for you to "take me seriously" that's your problem and not mine. Doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

I do have a list of over 100 solo ad sellers, and either myself or my business partner has ordered from everyone in that list.

That list took close to 2 years to compile between the both of us. Each of the sellers on that list were vetted and had to achieve a certain opt-in rate (at least 28%), and the IPs that their traffic came from were all checked (yes, every single one) to make sure they were not using proxies (a big sign of fake traffic/bots). Most importantly, we made sure the subscribers were responsive by emailing them the day after they subscribed to make sure we got opens and clicks from them.

I will vouch for every seller on that list. And no, it was not PLR. It is an original product that I created and I give away with PLR for the sole reason that I want to share the resource and I want others to be able to give it away also.

The whole reason I put together that solodex was because I got scammed a lot when I first started to buy solo ads and I didn't want that to happen to others.

I'm giving the thing away for free and even when I sold it I only sold it for a buck or two to cover costs and time. I didn't create the product to make money from. I actually did it as a service to people who want to use solo ads to build their lists. It is my own PERSONAL list of solo sellers.

        Why would I lie?

I've been in business since 2007 and I am a top affiliate marketer and I'm on many leader boards for top launches. I have absolutely no reason to put out a bogus list of solo ad sellers. It makes no sense.

I've got absolutely nothing to prove to you or anyone else. I offer my opinion and insights solely to help people. I don't use this forum as a way to make money. Besides, what do I have to gain by giving away a list of bad solo sellers? Why would I risk my reputation over a PDF that I AM GIVING AWAY?

Ya know, I am getting so sick and tired of people trashing solo ads and saying they are rubbish when obviously that's not the case.

I have built an entire business (a very successful business) around building my list with mostly solo ads.

I do not sell solo ads, so my motivation is not there. I am giving away the solodex, so my motivation is not trying to make money by selling the list.

        So what is my motivation?

I guess I'm just a liar and I want deceive everyone and tell them something works when it doesn't. Yeah that must be it...

And as far as sharing resources, I have been GIVING AWAY my own personal list of sellers for at least the past year now. It's also available for free in The War Room if you don't want to opt-in to get it. What else can I do for people? Should I build out their funnels and then buy the solo ads for them too?

Look into the resources all you want. Since I released the Solo Detective Solodex, THOUSANDS of copies have been distributed by me alone, not to mention there are other several marketers who have given away hundreds of copies on their own.

I have only gotten people thanking me on Facebook and telling me that they had good results with the sellers in it. I have NOT ONCE had anyone contact me and tell me that they had a bad experience with any of the sellers on that list.

I'm so tired of arguing over solo ads.

If they don't work for you (or anyone else), then one of the following things has happened:

        1. Your squeeze page & funnel sucks

        2. You bought from a bad seller

        End of story.
