Hi,

Do you know if Facebook tries to limit affiliate links on fanpages? I posted an affiliate link 2 hours ago https://www.facebook.com/BaseballTeamsUSA?ref=hl and it only has 34 impressions even though I have 1600 fans

  • I would not be surprised, what is your typical CTR for a link on your fanpage?

Are you talking about your "http://tinyurl.com/l8vnp8s" post?

Give them a reason to click, pitch the offer a bit, say at least "FYI check this out!"

Simply posting link won't get much leverage, also you should use self-hosted redirects.

Make the fan be like "OMG I have to click this" or "OMG I have to like this"

    • I'm not sure what my CTR is. I haven't calculated it. I know images work the best. Should I make an image?

"Are you talking about your "http://tinyurl.com/l8vnp8s" post?" Yes I am talking about that post.

It's frustrating trying to figure out how EdgeRank works.

Also Greedy, do you have experience with eBay's affiliate network? It seems that they pay per click instead of per sale. Kind of weird how they think that will work.

      "Quality Click Pricing:

eBay Partner Network will pay for each qualifying click sent to this program. The price paid will depend on the traffic's quality - the more incremental revenue the traffic generates for eBay, the higher the amount paid per click. The quality of the traffic will be assessed using a number of different factors, including revenue from sales and the long term value of new users, as today, but also eBay advertising and PayPal revenue, and user engagement. Essentially, the more incremental revenue your traffic generates for eBay, the more you'll be paid per click.

Just as in the prior CPA system, there is no limit to the total amount you can earn under Quality Click Pricing. On average across eBay Partner Network, publishers make between $0.06 and $0.21 per click sent to eBay. Note that this varies among programs based on the economics of each program. Publishers sending high quality, targeted traffic can make much more. We have hundreds of publishers earning more than $0.40 per click. However, results will vary by business model as well as how targeted you are in driving traffic to your own site and then sending that traffic to eBay."
  • I wouldn't say that is too uncommon.. How many fans visit per day?

Also how are you redirecting to your aff links?
  • Try Promoted Posts / Sponsored stories. Instant traffic.

    • That's also limited by how many likes you've got.
  • No, I am not sorry.
  • If you're not paying FB only a tiny fraction of your fans will see your posts.

    • Not entirely true.
If you content is quality (i.e. engages your fans) it will be shown in more of your fans news feeds
