"I Got To Ask This Question..."

Hey Guys,

I'm getting ready to go after a few CPA campaigns and coming here has helped a great deal, thanks.

Do you guys go after CPA campaigns that you're passionate about, (using PPC/PPV) so you can follow up the topic, in your blogs, tweets and fb pages? Or do you see a hot trend/topic, and run with it, and focus on buying traffic, until it starts to fade?

For example: If you were to do a CPA campaign, on back-to-school supplies. Let it run for a few weeks, then, go back to a long term, growing trend.

Thanks again,

I tested many products in the past without success, but finally found that I am very good at financial products. No I collect leads for insurance and other products as well. I only use PPC as advertising method and is working great for me! I have certain rules that I follow in order to find profitable keywords. In my niche apart from December you can make really good money the rest of the year.
Any questions just lest me know.

First run on a new campaign - Buy data to see how you can tweak it to make sales (no expected sales)

Second run - tweak your campaigns and get rid of non efficient material (Should start making sales)

Third run - Find your constants and keep them, build a new campaign to test new material to grow/scale up (Sales = new advertising expenses)

This is just my model that I use. Hope it helps

I'll promote anything that I know a little bit about so that I know where to begin when doing my research (Keywords, URLS, Banners, ect )

Yes, It's good to establish benchmarks and scale from there. I just hope I don't have to spend over $500, like I heard some have lost, before making a profit.

      Thanks for that tidbit.

My suggestion to not spending a fortune is to make sure you do your hw. It's your money don't just throw it out there. Make sure you know where your marketing and why.

After that point, I typically invest 1 - 1.5x the payout amount to collect data on the first run. So if you don't want to spend $500 I would suggest not promoting offers that are paying $50 commissions because you'll want to spend at least $75 in your first run to get that data ... obviously this can rack up expenses fast.

Start simple to learn the ropes. Zip submits for me work great bc the user doesn't have to give any of their personal info. Find one that pays maybe $1.50 spend $5 for data, adjust ... another $5 .... then you should have a pretty good blueprint on whats working and what isnt. Keep your constants that are making money ... even if its just a few dollars. It feels amazing to wake up every morning and see something besides a 0.

To start getting more income, keep testing new URLS, banners, keywords whatever you gotta do to find more constants.

This is your Business and all business's need an investment ... it may take time for you to break even and get out of the red ... but once you find enough constants you can use your earnings to pay for more marketing, and maybe a little in your pocket.

That's fantastic info! And I'm looking forward to waking up to a profitable campaign.

I'm familiar with digging deep, (demographics, geo targeting, psycho-graphics), however, the question is, how deep can these Ad Services go?

I know, Facebook goes pretty deep in demographics, I'm not sure Google goes that deep, except, geo targeting.

Are you find success with mobile services (buzz city or admob, etc)? Or do you focus online or mix?

          Thanks again.

At the moment I do not do any mobile marketing but I need to get involved with it ...

Its not so much about how far you dig, its making sure you find the right people.

For example ... if your promoting a free $250 gas card zip submit that can apply to anyone how do you know where to start targeting? It might reach a lot of people with FaceBook but how do we know if they want a free gas card?

Adwords you could target keywords like free gas ... but who searches that? Not a lot of people ill tell you that right now lol. However, a lot of people do frequently go to sites that have the lowest gas price in the area. If your creative(banner) was on that page they are "hopefully" more likely to click on it and fill it out.

Doing your hw is more than keyword research and breaking down your niche ... it's putting yourself in the viewers shoes. You have to think like a customer ... Online Marketing is all about providing a solution so you need to have an answer before they even begin searching and think of where they are going to go to find that information.

We could go on forever lol, but feel free to keep asking questions or PM whenever you need

Personally, I don't market to any seasonal, yearly, or current event trends.

But lots of marketers make good money doing it on occasion.

When it comes to picking an offer, I pick what I know I can market, or what interests me. I am more "passionate" about the marketing than I am "passionate" about the CPA offer.

I go for whatever will make me money, as long as I feel it is ethical to market

Most of the things I am passionate about probably wouldn't make much money online. I let the money I make from business fuel my passions
