First Success!!! My Story As a New Affiliate Marketer!

In the last day I have had my 2nd and 3rd sale of my Affliate marketing career (all 3 sale from LeadImpact) . My first sale was $3 into my $200 deposit at LI, and i direct linked to a clickbank product that hit, and made me $21. It was my first day in the game so i thought i was a genious and found the golden goose. I now realize its going to take a little more time and effort before i get the real golden egg. It wasnt until 10 days later which is today that i got my 2nd and 3rd sale. The last 10 days i spent building new campaigns, expanding keywords on existing campagins, and creating LP's and multiple LPs for diffrent offers .

After posting yesterday that i had a landing page on LeadImpact for a stock trading offer, that was giving me a 20% CTR, i got a sale on that offer today today. I spent total of $15 on LI (took me a week to spend this much, casue i used very targeted keywords), but the offer paid out $65 for a $50 profit on that campagin so far. I will also start implementing an opt-in for this LP as well.

I was also fortunate enough to get another Clickbank sale today (completly unrelated offer) that had a payout $45 dollars (and potential rebills ) . The cool thing about this offer is that I was direct linking to it almost all week, and yesterday i decided to add a few landing pages. It really proved the point that LP's will almost always out preform direct linking with LeadImpact. I have about 35 campagins ive created in the last 10 days, they vary drastically in offers and affliate networks.

So for my Stats:
LeadImpact Depost=$200
LeadImpact spent so far= $77
LeadImpact Conversions= $133 (3 sales)
LeadImpact Profits = $56

MediaTraffic (Decided to learn a differnet/ simlar to LeadImpact)
Mediatraffic Deposit= $100
Mediatraffic Spend = $16

Total Profit from Paid Traffic so far= $40 (this is great considering i told myself Im willing to spend $1000 to learn a few diffrent paid traffic sources)

Im still getting used to MediaTraffic, they have a lot of other options that LeadImpact doest and i made a very stupid mistake. I had a random keyword slip into one of my campaigns that i copied over from LeadImpact. That one word alone ate up about $12 over night. good thing i had CPVlap which helped me find that. Although i should have caought it sooner than i did.

I have already setup and funded accounts at 7search, BingAds, and plan on running some PPC campagins in the coming weeks as well.

Also I'll give a shout out to "Greedy". Ive been doing a lot of studies on the paid traffic game, and the Greed reports, have been the basis of my education thus far. Also thanks to all the warriors for your input and support.

Onward and Upward!

    • I mastered dating niche and I get good income from that but I always love to see what others do, test their methods and that's why I register on Greed Report.
I highly recommend to register, spend $10 miserable bucks and get valuable info from that site that can multiply your earnings.

What I love to read is case study because it gives you some valuable data you can test by yourself on your campaign.

When it comes to dating niche I use LeadImpact PPV, Facebook CPM and 7 search PPC.

Most of the success I have with Facebook CPM and also from my special cross fire technique that I mastered few years ago, learned from Ryan Moran and his program "Spacebankers" that was my first touch with social media.

    • Thanks Viasq! Thats the plan, Test --> Tighten --> Expand! Also im born and raised in Cali, so Cali luv!

Yah, Mediatraffic is a little tricky thus far, i had no action so i decided to test, and blew $20 on very stupid, amatuer mistakes on my part. Going to try and make a habit of double checking all my keyword submits from now on. I also dont like how mediatraffic only allows 40 characters for urls or keywords. Feels kinda limiting. Anyways ill play around with MT and see if I can make it work with my remaining $80. Again thanks for your support.

Thanks Chris. Hopefully i can continue to improve on my stats, cut out weak campaigns and roll out profitable ones.

One thing that makes me confident in my success is that I enjoy this business and its fun for me thus far. Also i really do beleive that with the right game plan its possible to make $500, $1000, and even $10,000 in a day espically in the paid traffic areana. Again thank you all for your support and I intend to post my small victories while they still feel amazing!

      Onward and Upward!

    • i'm not a member of greedreports maybe i should try but affbeast explained really well! I'll try affbeast first before greedreports. it depends on the money that i can save. I have $400 on my pocket but i want to have $1500 as a start.

      Why?

Because if i find a golden room, i'll deposit my remaining money to scale that campaign! So that i can earn as much as possible.

If my idea is wrong, please tell me.

Btw, who's the owner of affbeast? It really rocks!
  • So other ideas...

    - If the offer keeps converting, try building an email list. Email list building can work amazing with PPV, also email lists are one of the best ways to promote ClickBank offers. So it is a very powerful combination. Check out my 5 guides on "Building Email Lists" for more details.

    - "this is great considering i told myself Im willing to spend $1000 to learn a few diffrent paid traffic sources" I would suggest just keep going with LeadImpact if your success proves to be stable. I always spend well over $1,000 testing a new traffic source.

    Good Luck
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Great job Ben! Keep it up. I would suggest to be very methodical in how you add new traffic source since they all require a certain learning curve before you can make them profitable. Take your PPV profits to the max and then add. Good luck.

    • Thank Mohamed! Appretiate the support.

I agree completly about building a list. It seems like everybody who i have observed to be succeful as as IM'er (on a big scale) has some type of list building strategy in place. With my stock offer that getting me 20 CTR, i will put a optin email LP into my rotation.

I have lots of greed reports to study now. 7search, bing ads, and email lists are all in the currculum in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the support Eli. I agree completly. Like you said i feel its important to be methodical about expansion. I purchased a WSO that was about PPV (LeadImpact in specific). One of the authors most valuable points was: "Its not about getting millions of impressions to your landing page, it better to just get high quality traffic and slowly expand your campaigns with quaity".

Thanks everyone for your support. I'll try and give updates of my progress again later this week.

  • I Find Hope in all the talk with Media Traffic, Does anyone know how long it takes to get approved. I paid the initial $100 bucks through paypal on the 2nd of august and my campaign is still not confirmed. Should I be asking for a refund? This is my first time trying the PPV.
    • [1] reply
    • It took them a day or two to approve me. I also made sure to call them on the phone to expiedite the process. Also i think leadimpact is a little bit more newbie friendly, and higher quality traffic. (Im still testing MT but i think will only use to trasfer over campaign i think are worthwile that im running on LeadImpact).

A few tips from my very limited PPV career.
      1) At first only use Urls for your keywords
      2) You must have good tracking. Its not worth running a campaign if you dont track
      3) Use landing pages almost always and remember to keep them with in the pop up window size (775 by 400 is leadimpact pop size) If you want to direct link. Split test direct linking and an LP page. Another negative about direct linking is there isnt much room for optimization.

I feel that if you want to give yourself a shot in anytype of business and especially the Internet marketing world you have to give yourself the competitive edge. For PPV i would consider the compentive edge to be:
      1) Having tracking software
      2) Useing landing pages
      3) Adding features to landing pages that increase CTR (this would include: sound, geo-targeting, coudown timer etc..)
      4) Proper keyword research.

If you dont have/do the above i think you put yourself at a big disadvantage from the get go. Its better to start any business with as much of an advantage as possible. Hope this helped.

  • Congrats on your success. Its always a good and inspiring feeling when you have your first sale. Now all you need is to get more targeted traffic,so you can acquire more sales.
  • Good job, mate. Your story was very inspiring Keep scaling, best of luck!
  • Any updates? Sorry just eager to hear.
  • Great! Let us know if BingAds generate some leads.
  • I hear people say Media Traffic doesn't convert, but I disagree. I have made thousands each month with it. I know this is contrary to popular opinion, but I find the quality of their traffic to be about the same as Lead Impact, maybe slightly worse

One thing that is nice about MT is that you won't get as much traffic, but you won't pay as much per click either. For instance, I just got a $45 commission off a campaign where I have only spent .75 cents. And I have a few of these commissions this month already
    • [ 2 ] Thanks

    • Yes, I would also like to know if Bing ads pay off as well. Congrats on your well-deserved success in the trenches of testing and testing some more! Kristie from Georgia

  • Congrats on that
  • I would just stick with LeadImpact for now.

Adding Bing Ads, 7Search and 10 new campaign to the mix is going to be way too much in my opinion.

Do a few campaigns and do the right That is how I do things.

I master 1 ad network then move to the next.

Side note, are you removing non-converting URLs?
  • Congrats by the way! I thought I had posted, for sure I did...but anyways....please keep us updated.

  • keep up the good work, it feels great getting that first conversion
  • That is pretty common.

I would try to find some more big volume ones that are similar to your converting ones.
    • [1] reply
    • I would like to ask something if you don't mind. When you get a campaign profitable, for how long you usually run it? Days, Months ? In the cpa world the campaigns run for months or it is something with a short duration.
      • [1] reply
  • Good job on your conversions!

As for the traffic networks I use them both, and the quality is pretty much the same, but the one thing that makes me use LeadImpact over MediaTraffic is you can't use audio/video on your lander with MT as you can with LI.
  • I know the feeling.

I alway suggest one of the biggest keys in CPA is "Go to the volume!"

    Volume = Traffic

Your first campaign may cost exactly the same amount of money to test the offer, and getting it converting as the second.

But if your second campaign converts you could hit $500 a day vs. $500 a week. (Just an example estimate.)

This is the difference of having $X,XXX days vs $XX.

It is finding big traffic sources (in your case URLs), and getting them converting.
    • [1] reply
    • Hey Droopy Dawg, I agree that MT can also work when used properly. I only have a few landers that i have volume for. In the next week i want to make sure to get some sound, geo targeting, and a few other things to my LP to increase CTR.

I agree completely! Its seems with a little more time and experience the possibility for $xxx and $x,xxx are quickly approaching

      Daily Update:

      - Success #5!!! Got my first lead conversion! It was $1.50 payout! The best part about this:
      1) First conversion outside of clickbank, it was Max Bounty!!!
      2) First lead conversion of my Affiliate Marketing Career!
      3) Only spent $1.50, of which $1.25 got eaten up with a keyword that was a little to general. So pretty much got my first conversion off .25 cents of targeting more specific keywords.

      - Instead of making more campaigns today i concentrated on expanding and polishing up current campaigns. That is one of the reason I got my lead conversion.

Today was very exciting for me, getting my first lead conversion. I am making a diligent effort to explore all areas of Affiliate marketing traffic sources, aff networks, offers. I read in an article in the last week someone saying that pretty much every offer you see on every affiliate network there is someone making a killing with it. It really just comes down to if you have the correct marketing formula for that offer. I look forward to finding as many of these winning combinations as possible!

Last night i came home after going out parting with some friends, and in my tipsy motivated mind frame, deposited another $250 in my LeadImpact account. It was a commitment to myself, that I am going to do whatever it takes to make affiliate marketing work for me. I am playing to win not just play!

    • Weekend Update:
Got conversions 6,7, and 8 since my last post.

      #6- $1.50 email submit
      #7 $21 clickbank
      #8 $65 clickbank

      Stats:
      Total Spent LeadImpact: $220
      Total Earning from campaigns:$246
      Total Profit: $26

I am very happy with my results thus far. I haven't been forcing my offer into a bigger window up until now, and i think i probably lost a lot of conversions . Im still trying to get it set up properly with my tracking, but think i have already noticed a difference by forcing the offer to be in a full sized window.

I also used this weekend to absorb everything i could on 7 search and plan to start running a few campaigns there to start. Ill probably play with 7 search for the next few weeks before tackling another traffic source for now. The combination of learning the new traffic source, and getting tracking setup for the new traffic source requires a decent amount of learning for me

Anyways hope everyone had a good weekend.

  • I would stick with PPV, since it is already making progress for you.

Resist the urge to jump around I would stick with 2 campaigns max.
    • [1] reply
    • I have about 50 campaigns running right now, of which only a few campaigns get okay traffic. My campaign that has the most traffic, eats about $7 of budget a day. Of these campaigns i still have a lot of waiting and data collecting to do. I don't see how i can continue to expand my business by only focusing on 2 campaigns while keeping them tight and hyper-focused.

The few times i have tried high traffic keywords that i thought would work for a campaign, the keyword performed terribly.

      Daily Update:
Got my first campaign up and running in 7search. I have used all i have learned to increase my chances of success in this platform. My plan is to start very tight and hyperfocused and then slowly expand. From what i have learned of 7search its like PPC and PPV had a baby and 7search was born

    • Daily Update:

      - As of yesterday, it was the third day in a row that i got a sale via Lead Impact! Sat-$23, Sun-$65, Mon-$33.

-Started my first few campaigns with 7 search. Both campaigns have about 10 targeted keywords. I made sure my adds pre-sell hard so if anybody does click on the link they are defintley a quality lead, unless they are a bot that is. In the last 24hours, ive gotten only 2 clicks with 10,000 impressions.

      - The one thing i wish was easier with 7search is split testing. I have prolly 10 different variations of the same ad i would like to test but so far cant find any easy way to test. According to 7 search you can split test by having your different variations running at different times of the day, or different days. If anybody has any insight on this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

Im having fun playing around with a new traffic source and look forward to learning a lot in the next few weeks. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

  • How has things been going?

    Still in the green?
  • Hi Ben, can you explain me more about the LP creations?, do you use domains or sub-domains?

    Best Regards

    Jonathan
    • [2] replies
    • It doesn't matter if you use regular domains or sub-domains, it won't effect conversion much.
    • If you will be using Adwords and want to have the keyword in front of your URL like keywords.domain.com, then you should have it as a subdomain. This is a must requirement in order to stay google compliant.
  • Congratulations!

    Keep up the good work!

    • For LP creations i just use Photoshop and Dreamweaver. I place them in a directory usually in my root domain (I am sure my setup and organization could be better) ex. mydomain.com/product1, and just name my multiple different LP's index1.html, index2.html etc....

      Hey William,
Thanks for your support. I enjoy your post on the forum.

Hey PPC Coach, Thanks for the support and i also enjoy your post in the forum!

      Hey Greedy!

I unfortuntley have run into a small dry spell. After i had 3 days in a row with sales, the last 8 days have been completely dry. I will admit that the dryness sucked up some of my swagger last week, but im back in full swing this week. The only conversions where for email submits, where I spent much more than i earned.

      Notes:

      1) I am having trouble getting email submits to pan out via lead impact. Ive tried cutting keywords that dont seem to perform, optimizing LP's, and optimizing the campagin. These are $1.40 payouts, and after spending about $80 on 3 different but similar offers, dont see any hope. I have one Survey offer that is name and email submit that pays $4, which i am testing now, so far not looking that promising.

      2) I have spent the last week optimizing all my campaigns. That means, making new LP's for offers that i didn't like. Switching up offers for some of the campaigns. Adding keywords to some campaigns, Cutting keywords from others. etc...

      3) This week i plan to do a roll out of 7 search campaigns. I currently have 3 campaigns running, but all are spending about $1 a day because they are very tight, and pre-sell hard.

      4) I think there is a 5% chance that something i did with my optimizing LP's have messed something up(Created a redirect page, so i could resize the window, and made sure all clicks open in new window via _blank). The reason i say this is because ever since making these changes i havent got a sale. Ive tested to see if eveything works, and it seems to be fine on my end, so thats why i say 5% something internal is jacked.

      Stats:
      LeadImpact Spent: $500
      LeadImpact Rev: $300
Current position: -$200 (This could be higher if i get a refund for a clickbank product)

Conclusion: Its crazy how i thought after having 3 days in a row with sales that i figured something out. Now i go for 8 days dry, and it feels kinda like im back to square one, but with more knowledge. I am going to go ahead and deposit another $300 in LI, and hopefully get my swag back.

As always i am focused on sticking to the process and not focusing to much on the results at this point. I am confident i can make this work, and not to concerned with my $200 loss so far, just got keep truckin. Anyway, thank you all for your support.

      -Ben

P.S. Its also much more fun and easy writing daily updates when something good happens rather than sharing of one's dry spell.
      • [1] reply
  • yeah, I always look as it as paying for knowledge, when I am testing a new ad network for the first few months.

    Great attitude.

What I would suggest... is skip doing 7Search for now, and stick to LeadImpact since it is working for me. On LeadImpact I would launch a new campaign that targets bigger URLs so you can get faster money coming in, also build this new campaign around a lower payout CPA offer $4-$10.

With a cheaper offer, you will spend a lot less money on testing. Since testing 1-2x the cost of the offer will be a lot less.

When starting out low payout offers are a great way to learn and save money.
  • Nice my work my friend! Keep it up!

    • Thanks for the support!

I have taken your advice, and will hold on 7search until i have put a good 5-10 more campaigns up in the $4-$10 for leadimpact. I have already gone through all offers in that price range for a few networks and have chosen about 10 offers i can see potentially working.

Ill try and have these 10 campaigns all up by the end of the weekend. Next week ill start adding LP's and split test direct vs LP. Ill keep you guys posted.

Thanks for the support. I would also like to get into the dating niche, but have yet to put up some dating campaigns. Because of your post i plan on putting a few campaigns up this week.

      Hey Hrkjds,
Thanks for reading and showing support!

      Labor Day Update:

      - So I have put up 7 campaigns in lead impact, all of which are in $5-$10 / lead range. I started running all campaigns for a day direct linking, but have paused all of them until, I can put together a landing page. I am excited for the day that i can have a profitable campaign by simply direct linking, till than i have come to the conclusion with lead-impact in specific, it is necessarily for a landing page.

      - For one of the campaigns I have i put together a LP ($7 payout), and have already got 2 conversions , so that particular campaign looks like it has great potential.

      - I have used this weekend to really polish up my email marketing knowledge. (Actually purchased 3 different WSO's on the subject. One of which where email swipes) I have come to realize how important it is for me to put together an email list, and i am wasting time and money not capturing emails, and putting them thru a sales funnel.

      Quick Stats:
      LeadImpact Spent: $500
      Clickbank Commisions: $300
      Max Bount Commisions: $30
      Net Loss: $170

I am currently at a loss, but am very happy with the knowledge ive gained. Im excited to start promoting products in the $5-$10 range and think i can find something that i can make work. Also i think i can start improving some CTR, here and there.

      Goals for the week:

      1) Create Landing Pages for my new campaigns
      2) Create 3 more campaigns in the dating niche
      3) Create an email opt-in page LP for my stock campaign (business opportunity/ IM niche)
      4) Create Free Gift for for email opt-in
      5) Create my email swipes that are half valuable content, and the other half promote affiliate products. This i imagine may take a little while, but i would like to have a year worth of swipes available. (Load how ever far i get into Aweber)

So for this week, my main focus is on my 10 new $5-$10/lead campaigns via leadimpact, and getting my email game up and running.

  • I have also been experiencing a dry spell but I believe its because of the holiday and people going away before schools starts. I am going to try LI because of your post. I am converting via Bing but I want another source. I tried 7 and received a few conversions but about time I got done with all the blocking I was just breaking even. Please keep up your updates and God willing the conversions will start flowing again.

    • Hey DrwQ45,
Thanks for the support. Determined to make IM work, so this dryspell is just part of the learning curve. I feel its only a matter of time before i find / cultivate some winning campaigns.

Thats the intention. Im getting great practice in the process of learning. I have now created over 50 campaigns and over 100+ landing pages. I can confidently say that my skills have defintely improved in the last month.

      Daily Update:

      - Have gotten all my 10 new $5-$10 campaigns up. Only have Landing Pages for 2 of them thus far. My goal is to create LP's for all my new campaigns by the end of the week.

      - I Have been spending a lot of time trying to get my email game up and running. I logistically know what to do, but there is a learning curve and a lot of things that must be done:
      1) Getting used to Aweber
      2) Creating a squeez page
      3) Setting up tracking through CPVLab
      4) Create a Free Giveaway for email submit (i have multiple ideas, on how to do this which is going to require me to make 2 different Reports/ Ebooks. One will prolly end up being a free WSO - coming soon to a warrior forum near you)
      5) Putting together email swipes, so i can put my list on autopilot, and subscribers have sales funnel to go through
      6) Choosing offers to promote, and creating email swipe for product

All the above i could probably do in a day if i had someone showing me exactly what to do, but like you all know teaching yourself usually takes a bit longer. On a positive note im confident teaching myself is giving me a better overall understanding of everything that i learn.

Anyways I have no conversions to report of today, but am slowly building up my IM business.

      Daily Update:

      - I have a few clickbank products ive been promoting on L.I. that have payouts close to $100+ (rebills included). I have already spent about $50 each on 2 different campaigns that haven't converted yet (My CTR has also been steadily falling). I decided to pause these campaigns until i have a squeez page in place. Im finding that promoting clickbank products has been like rolling dice thus far. I cant confidently say if any campaign will survive, although all the ones with a sale are profitable for now (I promoting probably 35 clickbank products) It seems like every conversion is random.

      - Im more confident than ever that if I set up a list building system in all these different niches Im currently targeting, it could be responsible for big paydays down the line, and also make this business a little bit more stable. Also I will be first concentrating on the IM niche for listing building, this is because it is laid out the best in every WSO, and you can literally see what the the top dawgs in the IM game are doing by signing up for there list. I also really do enjoy the IM niche as well. (When it comes to WSO's, i love the shiny objects )

  • Two days in a row! Right after writing my post i checked my CPVLab again today to find that I have my biggest sale yet!!! Payout of $67! I have been promoting two different products in this niche and have been split testing and have sold one of each. So this particular campaign has a riduclous ROI.
    Total Spent this campaign: $8

      Daily Update:
-Today i woke up and checked my CPVlab to see that i had 6 new conversions over night! Today is already going down as most conversions in a day for me. Most of them where from a dating offer, one of them was also my highest paying lead conversion to date at $15. For that $15 conversion, i have been running this campaign for the last month, and i was $12 into my spend until in finally hit for me last night.

      - Today I will continue to work on sharpening up my 5-$15 campaigns, along with continuing to work on my email campaign.

  • Well done!

The hardest part of affiliate marketing is probably making that first sale. Once you've got that, it's a lot easier to get the other sales flowing in. Sales will be inconsistent, that's natural. Some days you might get dozens of sales, other days even none.
  • Because it gives you a reason to believe.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • [1] reply
    • Hey PinkGorilla, thanks for the support. I agree that breaking the ice initially is hardest part.

Hey Greedy! I agree that belief is probably the biggest part of the equation. I came to the conclusion when i got into the IM word that there are a lot of people that are very successful, and making a lot of money in the industry. That being said, if they could be successful than i know i could to. I have been successful in other industries which has allowed me the time, money, and belief to treat IM like a real business.

      Weekly Update:
      - My dating offer is my first campaign that is converting regularly. I am averaging about 5 conversion a day. The campaigns ROI is currently at 30%. I hope to improve this as more keywords continue to get cut. This campaigns has profited about $5 a day currently. This exact campaign i tried to transfer to MediaTraffic with no luck. MT is one tough nut to crack.

      - Still working on setting up my email campaign. I am also working on creating my free report / guide for people who OPT-in. I will probably make a mini-guide /report about PPV, cause that is what i feel i can put together the highest quality content. Will also probably create signature this week, and give away my guide to warriors who want to opt-in to my list.

      - I put up a 3 different 7search campagins this weekend, cause i read an article that motivated me. They only took me about 7 min each, and there all very tight and will not require much monitoring. (Im trying not to jump around to much from traffic sources, but these where to easy for me to create, not to try)

      - I have about 7 campaigns on hold in the $5-$15 payout range, which I intend to create an LP and reactivate by the end of the week.

Hope everyone has a successful and productive week.

  • I would save up money for TrafficVance.

    How are they doing?
  • Congratulate! I wish I can do as you can

    • Hey Paul Thanks for the support!
I have the funds ready for TrafficVance, I will probably do it in the next week or two. I have been lagging a little with my new LI campaigns. No conversions for the 7search. I think one reason for this is 8 of the 9 campagins I have on 7search are CPS type offers. Ill try to get more lead type offers going in the next week.

      Updates:

Lead Impact Stats: (Just deposited another $350)
      Lead Impact Spent: $750
      Total Commissions: $600
      Net: -$150

      7 Search Stats:
Spent: $40 with 0 commision thus far. (I attribute this to having almost exclusivley sale type offers)
      Net: -$40

Media Traffic: (Will not deposit more money)
Spent $80 with 0 commissions: Media Traffic is very hard to crack. I've tried all type of offers, and nothing has hit or even showed any type of promise.
      Net: -$80

      - I have been hard at work getting my mini-guide together for my opt-in for the IM niche. Putting together all the content and making sure to add affiliate links/offers for products i trust and believe in.

      Thats the Update!

  • Try focusing on less campaigns. Since you need test each 1-2x the offer's payout, for every change.

Most campaign don't work out the gate, you will have to make multiple tweaks with them.

    • Daily Update:

      - Today has been a great day of conversions. My dating offer converted 6 times already, and is now at a 40% ROI. I hope to continue to improve my ROI by cutting more garbage keywords once they have had enough impressions.

      - My clickbank stock campaign also converted today. Its the 3rd time since I started with leadimpact it has converted. Payout is $65. For this campaign my ROI is right at 100%.

      - I'm currently at $93 revenue for the day. With a few more conversions this can be my first $100 day!

Things are starting to get more interesting

  • If I was in your shoes, I would halt creating new campaigns, forget about 7Search, and focus on scaling and growing your campaigns that are already working.

It is MUCH MUCH easier to make something that is converting to make more money, than starting something new.

I believe you have 2 profitable campaigns, here is what I would focus all my efforts on.

    CLICKBANK CAMPAIGN:
    - Test 5 Landing Pages (Test Audio, Video, Scarcity, Exit Pops, Geo-Call Out, Ect.)
    - A Squeeze Page & Email Promotion
    - Test 3 Other Offers
    - Keep digging and testing new URLs. (Get creative. Test big URL swinging for the fences.)

    DATING CAMPAIGN:
    - Test 5 Landing Pages (Test a "Rules" Landing Page. Make it look like the offer. Check POF for some good LP ideas.)
    - Test 10 Other Offers
    - Keep digging and testing new URLs. (Get creative. Test big URL swinging for the fences.)

If you aren't getting enough traffic to do split tests, really focus on getting those bigger URLs. Or tweaking the campaign, so it fits a more larger demographic.

If you can boost your LP's CTR 50% for any of those with typically isn't to hard if the campaign is new, you will be well over $100 a day.

As soon as I get a converting campaign my focus is on maximizing it in every way. This is the last time I would start playing around with a new traffic source, or build new campaigns. That is just my option.

  • Great work, keep it up. Don't forget there is a long way to go.
  • Not sure i understand why you would want to start selling an ebook/wso already when you're at 100$ in revenue(not that it's not good)...If that's one of your goals, i'd wait til you actually got 500$ days to be at a more credible level and then start branding yourself. Take no offense, just looks like you wanna move a bit too fast
    • [1] reply
    • No offense taken at all. I would feel the same way if i read another user with a similar post to mine. I am actually not planning on selling it, but rather releasing it as a Free WSO. I am confident I will do my credibility justice when people see the quality of the information i present.

      Daily Update:

      - Babysitting my current campaigns. Making little changes here and there to improve what I currently have going.

      - Continuing to work on my WSO, I am very happy with it so far, and should be done by early next week.

      - Today has been a decent day for conversion 5 so far of my dating offer and 1 for MyPCBackup. Although I am having trouble cracking how to get MyPCBackup profitable for US traffic. I have one country where its is in the green for now.

      Anyways back to work.

  • What I was saying is you can easily get 50% increase to you current CTR. Doubling your conversions.

Are you using a landing page / quick pre-sell page with your ClickBank offers, if not your are missing out.

Also did you test targeting some keywords as well?
    • [1] reply
    • Hey Greedy!

I am using a landing page for my Clickbank offer. However im not sure if my LP would be considered a pre-sell page? I have not tested out actual keywords. The few times I have it seemed to burn through money at crazy speeds (Or maybe what i thought was crazy speeds at the time). Anyways I will try and play around with these suggestions. Like always thanks for your help.

    • Hey Morg thanks for the support. 1) Right now I am only using paid traffic, that being said i feel having some free traffic methods in your business model can only help. Ill probably do some Youtube marketing in the next few months, but am way to busy right now. 2) For PPV i suggest starting in the $3-$15 payout for lead range. Any payout lower is hard to make profitable, any higher payout are much more difficult to convert.

      Thanks Greedy!

      Thanks Thego, appretiate the support!

      Daily Update:

      - I got approved by TrafficVance today. Now i am just waiting for my account to fund. You have to send in ID, cc info, and signed sheets, so there is going to be some processing time. Hopefully if i am lucky by the end of today i can run my first campaign. One thing i thought was interesting is that you need a separate account for US traffic vs. International. Meaning that you must deposit a $1000 into each account if you want to do both US and International traffic. Im only going to start with US for now, and move on from here.

      - I have 2 conversions today for the dating offer Im promoting. My ROI for that campaign has dropped from 40% to 30%.

      - I am continuing to work hard to get my PPV guide finished. Even getting Affiliate links to put into guide is a time consuming process in it of itself.

Anyways, hope everyone's having a good day.

      LeadImpact Commisions: $1000
      ROI: 0%

      TrafficVance: Only $3 into budget.

      - So for the last week i have profited a little. My dating camapign is paying for it self and for my other marketing. Than every few days a clickbank sale would go down, and take me into profits for the week. This has been the case for the last few weeks. I will start expanding again once i get my email campaign up and running.

      - Today was the first time one of my Clickbank sales got refunded. Ive been warned about this, and it finally happened. This continues to reinforce that i need to get my email game up and running so income becomes more reliable.

      - For those who have not noticed, I have changed my avatar from a picture of a happyface to my own picture. (I did this to start the branding process). Video coming soon to a warrior forum near you

      - I have finished my E-book, and just need to format a little better. I will also have a buddy do a re-read for spelling and grammar mistakes. Ive' already created an Ebook cover image, and also an image for my signature.

  • Ben you are doing awesome, great courage and hard work.

I came across your post because I am just now trying to get my foot into PPV, more specifically LeadImpact. But one thing I don't understand is why you feel the need to promote multiple different products and create 50 campaigns at a single time, oh hell no, I couldn't do this, and Greedy has tried to remind you over and over again that you gotta stick to only a couple that convert well for you and then just keep at it.

I plan on picking only 1 product, that is an extremely broad category, and testing that accurately and super narrow down, with great URL research.

The reason I am ready to jump on PPV is because it offers something crazy, URL targeting, wow, when you have that you don't need anything more. Use them and use them effectively, and see which work and stay with them, that is what I plan to do.

    -Rizzy
    • [1] reply
    • Hey Rizzy,

Thanks for the support. I created as many campaigns as i did because a lot of the very specific niches i chose generated very little traffic. I was promting clickbank products at first and as you know they have a product for everything. For example i created campaigns for anything animal related I could find. Examples: Building a Chicken Coup, Raising Mini Pigs, Raising Goats, Raising Chickens, Raising Turkeys, Raising Rabbits. As you can see each one of these where a different campaign and none of them generated that much traffic. After all my testing of clickbank products/niches I was able to weed out 4 campaigns that are profitable. If it was not for my expansive testing i would have never known about these niches. That being said, how i approached PPV i would not necessarily recommend for someone new, and on a budget.

I do agree with Greedy, and with your plan of action. I think if you stick to what you outlined above you are on a very good track to become a successful PPV Marketer. I would also like to add that you never know whats going to happen until your campaign goes live. You may think something will generate great traffic, but than be sadly mistaken.

Like with everything else in life, make sure to keep taking action, test, tweak, rinse, repeat.

  • LOVE this thread. Keep up the hard work OP and don't stop!
  • Hey sweet results and congrats, welcome to the club!

Remember: markets are never smooth and if you hit a bump at some point don't panic and ALWAYS look at the overall picture. I personally never look at daily figures anymore and make sure I crunch my numbers on a 3-day rule before making changes to my campaign.

This is really key. Analyze your campaign over a bigger timespan, as bumps are very common. Then change one thing at a time until you figure out what the issue is. Just don't forget to always try and improve your campaign ... the competition never sleeps.

Any questions just let me know

      Update:
      PPV Update:

      - So i just recently started setting up new campaigns in LeadImpact . I have been focusing mostly on dating offers, and have found a few new ones that i think have slight potential.

      - My clickbank products i have been promoting with success have not been converting as well as they did before. They are still in the profit, but if another sale doesn't come in, in the next week or 2 it will probably be back to breakeven.

      - Right now i am probably making about $10-$15 a day profit on PPV. The reason it is as low as it is right now, is because i am testing a lot of new campagins and the majority never end up making any money. Also I have narrowed my campagins down to about 4 profitable ones.

      - I still have plenty of budget in my TrafficVance account, but havent really started creating new campaigns in there yet. A lot of the dating offers i am promoting are adult dating sites which trafficvance does not allow. I will definitely use this budget soon enough, just need to figure how exactly i would like to do it.

      - I will probably purchase a 1 hour consulting session with 1 or 2 different experts/gurus to take a look at what im doing. I am sure there are little things i can tweak here and there to heavily increase my profits from PPV marketing.

      E-mailing Marketing Update

      - I have finished my E-Book on PPV Marketing a few weeks ago. I have not released it yet because I have been consulting with some people as the best way to release it for maximum exposure. My reasons for writing this E-Book are; start building my email list, provide high quality information, brand myself as a person whom over delivers with quality of conent.

      - I hope to finally release this E-Book in the next few weeks. In order to do this i still have to set-up my funnel: Squeez page, thank you page, thank you email, download page, download thank you page, follow-up emails, *maybe an OTO,. I plan on building multiple lists in the IM space. One that i will provide high quality content and i will push my own offers, and another that i build thru buying solo ads and monetize thru selling solo ads.

      Final Thoughts:

      - This last month has been a good one. Although my income has not improved that much, I have put in a lot of working on building a solid foundation to my business. I continue to love this business, and am amazed how everyday i continue to find golden nuggets. Thank you all for reading.

      Onward and Upwards!

  • Sorry man I'm with Greedy. What you're doing sounds great but you have so many campaigns running. Now clearly they were profitable but why not find ones that are profitable and get those set up and optimized before making another 20 and moving into PPC, etc. Get a profitable campaign set up and THEN make another campaign and build out from there. No matter how tightly targeted they are it's still better to be in the green ;P just my thoughts!

  • 1) On average, what is your budget for a brand new campaign?

    2) When do you decide to dump a campaign.

    3) How important it is to have the highest bid in order to get more clicks?

    4) Are you full time or part time?
    • [1] reply
    • Hey JunkDNA, thanks for the support and interest.

      1) The dating offers payouts are between $3-$6, so I will usually spend $10. At first my targeting is very tight, so if doesn't convert within first $10 ill probably move to the next. For me about 1/3 will convert in the initial trial. If it does convert, i will work on expanding my keyword list. I am running a few payday loan offers (havent converted on any yet) which have much higher payouts, so my initial budget for these campaigns are much higher than that of the dating offers.

      2) If i cant make it convert with super tight targeting with in the first 1.5x-2x of the offers payout ill dump.

      3) This all depends on the volume of traffic a specific keyword is getting. You can be in 10th position for a keyword like amazon.com, and still flood yourself with traffic. Most of the time ill will start in the minimum bid position. Once the campagin is running, and i see no traffic is coming in Ill slowly increase my bid.

      4) I am fortunate enough to be doing this full time!

Thanks for your questions and for reading.

  • Nice, they are great. Lately a little hard to get approved on, but not too crazy.
  • One warning about not being the number 1 bid is... it can defiantly hurt the traffic quality you get.

With that being said, I have profitable campaigns in the #2 and #3 spots, but just a little tip to everyone.

    • @bigbenre Thanks for the reply. Very conservative strategy. Possibly that's why it works.

@Greedy: So, bidding wars rule, most of the time!

Just one more, is it at all possible to pull out large profits, like $1,000+ per day from one single aff. offer with PPV or is that just a pipe dream? To achieve $1,000 pr day goal should one rather focus on building up a portofolio of 100s of small profitable campaigns, each making around $50-100 per month?
      • [1] reply
  • Not necessarily, I tend to avoid bidding wars or keywords that evoke them.

I am only going into a bidding war if I know the campaign is already profitable.

I won't ever get into a bidding war just to test something.

      Monday Update:

      - My rep for TrafficVance called me today, to let me know he wanted me to start pushing more traffic. I only have 3 campaigns running that spend pennies a day. We had a good conversation, and I promised him I would get a few campaigns up by weeks end. He also gave me some valuable nuggets on whats hot this time of year, and also what he thinks will be hot in the near future. His suggestions of niches hot this time of year: Payday Loans, Christmas related offers, and weight loss right after new years.

      - I had my "PPV Guide" I created finally proof read. I now am going to higher someone on Fiverr or Odesk to format and make look more visually pleasing. One of the purposes of creating this E-Book was to start building my own list. So this week I am dedicating some time to getting my sales funnel created. (opt in page, thank you page, thank you email, download page, follow up emails). I'm hoping to release it before the end of the month.

I am committed to finishing off the year strong. I have a lot of exciting projects in the pipeline, and grow more fond of this industry by the day. Anyways thanks for reading.

    • Thursday Update:

      - First I would like to say how much I love Fiver. I paid a guy $15 to format my E-Book and also make a cover, and he did a fantastic job. My E-Book actually look semi-professional, which is amazing for a Free E-Book.

      - As the release of my E-Book approaches, I feel more motivated to post my progress in this thread which is a great thing. I plan on implementing differnet levels of aggresiveness, depending on how you found my Ebook. For example my funnel will be more aggressive with Solo-Ads Opt-ins, vs people who sign up through my signature.

Ways I plan on promoting My Free E-Book and Building My List

      1) In my signature. I am going to buy the signature image which cost $60 for the year. I intend to start making more quality posts through out the warrior forums. (5-10 posts in the morning and 5-10 posts in the evening).

      2) I will release it as a Free WSO on the warrior forum. I think this will cost me $37 to join the war room, and another $40 to create a thread in the WSO section.

      3) I plan on purchasing solo-ads. I have purchased many Email-Marketing WSOs that have included a great Rolodex of legit solo-ad sellers.

      - I am still plugging away with all my PPV stuff, and also have a few other internet marketing projects in the works. I feel like I am repeating myself but have to say that I feel so grateful for the passion I feel for Internet Marketing! There is no limit to what can be done!

    • Friday Update:

      - So in the last day I have been working a lot on setting up my funnel for my email list. I have been working primarily on my squeeze pages which I am creating 3 different ones for the 3 types of lists i plan to build. Types of lists i intend on creating:

List #1) Link in my signature to promote my E-Book. For warriors on my list I will send high quality content, and once in a while promote an offer that i personally like.

List #2) Free WSO Release: I intend to do an official FREE WSO release. The list i gather from this I will provide high quality content as well, and promote offers slightly more frequently than List #1

List #3) This List will be created through solo-ads. This list I intend to be the the most aggressive with. I will probably end up having multiple type of lists within the realm of solo-ads.

      - From what started off as a small project of making a report, has turned into something much bigger. It has got me stoked on the list building and product creation tip.

      - I am excited to start combining the power of paid traffic, CPA and list building within all niches. The possibilities are truly endless.

IMO, Low Paid offers [$1 - $5] Are a No go for Low Budget Paid Advertisement Campaigns. Id suggest going ultra targetted to Paid offers at $50 - $1k Per sale.
    • [1] reply
    • But with a lower budget testing a $5 payout lot cheaper then an offer with a $50.

    • Monday Update:

      - Today I hit my first $100+ profit day!!! This is great cause Ive been working to break this benchmark for a little while!

      - Today was the first time I converted a Payday Loan offer which was part of the reason I broke my first $100+ profit day!

      - I spent a lot of today working on expanding my current successful campaigns to other countries and to TrafficVance. For TrafficVance i have only created campaigns in the US to start.

      - Due to the fact that LeadImpact has changed their minimum deposit to $1000, i will have to go back to my E-Book and make necessary changes. I will also have to re-send it to get formatted so it looks professional.

      - I am hoping to finally release my E-book in my signature by the end of the week. I am hard at work setting up 3 different funnels, depending how you get my E-Book.

Overall, today gave me some great momentum. As my PPV efforts continue to improve I am excited to introduce other forms of Internet Marketing and hopefully continue to increase my bottom line.

  • You are getting results, like anything you learn to have great days and some just okay days. If and when you are ready you can consider Trafficvance. I believe it is still $1,000 to join and you need to be referred by someone.
    • [1] reply
    • He already joined.

Yeah, more 100+ days are coming I guess . At the moment I am averaging $20/day for this month which is a great start.

At the moment, I put all my effort in building a great lead magnet which I will use to build a list in my niche. I will send traffic to this and hope people like it. Will cost time and money upfront, but I heard good things about this approach so we'll see what it will bring in the end.
      • [1] reply
  • Hey, Ben!
I've been reading your story for a while, seeing success and losses.
And maybe I'm missing something, but why you've started building a list in IM niche?
Are you already making at least 4 figures /mon with IM to give/teach/sell your list something really valuable?
    • [1] reply
    • Hey Gn3man,

Thanks for following my thread! I would like to start off and say, that if i was reading my thread i would also have the same concerns that you have voiced. Fortunately, i know my track record, and have been very successful in other businesses. This has given me the confidence and capital to grow my IM business at a fast pace. Now to answer your questions:

      - Im a building a list in the IM niche for a few reasons.

      1) I am very passionate about internet marketing!
      2) IM is the easiest niche to build a list.
      3) When buying solo-ads majority of the sellers have lists in the IM niche
      4) Warrior forum is a great way to help build a list. (This is the only forum that i am actually active on)

      - For your second question: I am fortunate enough to be making the 4 figures a month, but this alone does not make me eligible to be selling information. One of the reasons i am releasing my first E-Book/WSO for free, is that i want to build a reputation of only creating and promoting super high quality content. As far as monetizing my list goes, this will be unique for every list i create.
      1) The List i build through my signature i will only present high quality content and only promote offers i personally believe in.
      2) List I build through my Free WSO, will be similar to the above, except promote offers slightly more frequently.
      3) Lists i build through solo-ads
      A) I will create one list that i build with no intention of selling solo-ads in the future, and just promote offers.
      B) I will create a list for the purpose of selling solo-ads in the future.

Anyways, I hope this helps clarify my vision a bit to others.

  • Great Ben,

You are a true inspirational story .... One thing I learned from you is the power of taking action.

I am on Greedy's email list and she informed about this thread. I have been following it since then.

You have motivated me ... and now I am also making money with PPV.
Anyway, I just made $45.20 but unfortunately I am still operating at loss ... maybe cause its new to me + I did mostly Email Submit offers. I think I will move to better offers.

Once you release your book and I will be the first to get into your list ...

    Keep up the good work.
I will update you when I make more money

  • Friday Update:

    - So I have launched my E-Book in my signature and already have close to 20 subscribers. This is pretty exciting. I have only created content for a few emails, so in the next week i need to put together my follow up series of high quality content.

    - I made my first mistake in Aweber by accidentally sending a random generic email to my new list when trying to change the order of emails. Good lesson to learn i guess when my list is still small.

    - I plan to also get my funnel prepared for releasing the E-Book as a Free WSO this week . With this list i will probably email daily, with mostly content and maybe 1 in 5 emails or 1 in 7 emails with an offer. I am very curious how many subscribers i can potentially acquire with this method.

    - This week i also plan to set up a few PPV landing pages that have opt-in forms. Want to start building a list in stocks niche because i have a successful campaign running.

    • Hey Ben,

First off congratulations. You have come a long way in a short time! I myself am on my PPV journey and things are going well

      In your ebook you state:

For product category, I always do Category = "Life Style", Sub Category =
"Other". I always do this because I know it will result in the minimum $.015
cent bid amount on the next page. If something is wrong, LeadImpact will
contact you. If you are promoting adult material, I advise you to choose
      the proper categories.

So you always choose these categories no matter what niche you are in? Surely you need to pick the relevant category for your niche, so the right eyeballs see it? Also are you saying that you get guaranteed minimum bids using the above category. Surely the target bid price is the same across the board?

      Cheers Martyn

  • Ben,

Had the chance to go through your PPV guide today. Can't thank you enough. it gave me tons of great information to help improve my PPV campaigns CTR and traffic. I know you've said you've been working a lot on delivering quality content and building an image as credible source on said topics - Well you've done it in my book. I was actually going to write a post encouraging PPV newbies to download it but I wasn't sure if that's allowed. regardless, I just wanted to shoot over here and say that there's some great content in your ebook, and the formatting came out great!
I was honestly a little surprised with how much you gave - including the LP template that you provided by your email list, and coupons with nearly every company needed to get started in PPV.

    Thanks again!

Thank you so much for the very kind words. It took a lot of time and effort to create it, and I very much appreciate you liking it. I know you have been getting your feet wet and taking action with PPV too, which i commend you for. The only way to be successful with PPV is to be consistant, persistent, and to always keep taking action. As you know PPV traffic is not necessarily the easiest, but with practice it can become more and more profitable.

I was talking to my Rep at TrafficVance and he was telling me how they have multiple people spending $5000+ a day on pop-up traffic. That leads me to believe that some people are making million + a year just useing PPV traffic. That means still lots of growing to do

  • Hi Ben,
I've been following your thread for quite some time now and I visit it atleast once a day to gain some more PPV wisdom.

Since I am just starting out your experience has been guiding me a lot. I am now trying out a loan offer on LI and I see most URLs have high bids, 0.45/v etc. Obviously lot of competition means some are getting good conversions and positive ROI on these bids.

So what do you do, at what price point do you test your conversions before bidding for the top, or do you bid top and see the conversions before taking a call ?

    Thanks,
    • [1] reply
    • Just my 2 cents, but I did a payday loan offer and ran into this. - Try to use subdomains... I found that most of those loan offers, people are bidding 40-50 cents on the root domain, yet the subdomain, which may be a little more relevant to your offer in some cases, was still around 3 cents

  • Wednesday Mid-Day Update:

    - I have pretty much expanded all my successful campaigns to both TrafficVance and 50onREd. I have found that 50onRed starting bid on all lot of payday loan keywords ridiculously high. I have seen a handful already at $1+ per pop.

    - I have hit 55 subscribers to my list through my E-Book.

    - I have put together an excell list where i list all quality content i plan to send to my mail list. Some of my content will be links to other websites or youtube videos, so i wanted a place to have all links and information in one place.

    - I find that staying organized is becoming more and more important. I have also noticed the days that i am least productive is when i haven't broken down my To-Do list into baby tasks. I am working hard at becoming more productive. I feel im doing well, yet still have below average days here and there. I plan on continuing to grow my productivity skills!

    • Thursday Night Update:

      - On my new round of PPV campaigns for insurance offers I'm promoting, one just converted tonight. Now its time to expand keywords and raise bids on a few keywords to get into first position and increase traffic.

      - Creating my email funnel is taking much longer than i initially thought it would. Like everything in life, the first time around is the slowest, but after this time i should be able to do it at a much quicker pace. Similar to the creation of the E-Book its been a long but necessary process.

      Goals Before New Years:

      1) Create funnel for and release my E-Book as a Free WSO

      2) Create funnel, create alternative opt-in page , and send out 1-3 solo ads. For each buy Ill get 100 per seller for about $40.

      3) Set up multiple PPV landing pages with email opt-ins. Start lists in a few different niches!

You havent even spent the payout amount on all keywords combined, so you have much more testing to do. If you havent already, i suggest downloading my E-Book in my signature. It is full of all the knowledge i have acquired since i started PPV. Also if you do have specific questions about your campaign, i suggest you post it as a new thread. There are others that are more experienced than myself, and it will get much more exposure than posting in my thread. Anyways thanks for your support and good luck with your journeys.

      Friday Update:

      - Just had a nice long conversation with my Rep at TrafficVance, he told me some very interesting things. He said that right now Neveda just legalized online poker again. He said New Jersey is next in line, and predicted by the end of 2014 Online Poker should be legal through out all of the US. I thought this was very cool, cause there is huge money to be made in that industry if you know how to prepare for it.

      - Ive spent a lot of today adjusting bids so i can get more traffic to some of my campaigns. Will update later with any news.

  • Hi Ben,
Thank you for posting your progress. Thank you for your 2013 PPV guide, really a good source of information. I went through all you posts (today is third time) from August 8th to now. It gives me lot of inspiration.
I use Photoshop elements and Dreamweaver ($20/month) to make my landing pages.
I have yet to see a good video tutorial on creating landing pages using Dreamweaver, from scratch. I saw this video: PPV Traffic Assault - The #1 PPV Traffic Training Course on the Internet!! , but it takes me through using slicing Tool from Photoshop, which ultimately puts your lander using HTML tables, instead of CSS3. It will be nice if some one can make a good tutorial making a lander from scratch using Dreamweaver. I know there are several methods that are less complicate, but that is not the path I want to take. I understand that ugly banners get clicks. I am also a member of Greed Report (Hi Greedy).

Ben, keep up the good work, and good luck. Thanks again for the e-book on PPV.

  • Hi Ben,

Great to read your updates and to see that thing are going well for you.

I do have one question that I thought you might be able to answer....

I want to track my site (lets call it domain1.com) and I want to install prosper202 or cpvlab and I wonder, is it better to install the tracking to a different domain that is only used for tracking or is it better to install it on a subfolder to domain1.com?

Also I have a domain that is my last name that I only use for emails is it ok to install tracking software on that one or will the visitor be able to see that url somehow?

Thankfull for any thoughts that you might have?

    Regards

    Jute
    • [1] reply
    • Hey Ganti,

Thank you for following my thread and your kind words. I agree that it would be nice to have a tutorial for landing pages. I still have tons of room for improvement in this area of my Internet Marketing Game. Eventually, i would like to get an assistant that has good web design and ad copy skills . Hopefully soon

      Hey Jute,

Thanks for continuing to follow my journey. As for your questions.

      1) I personally have my tracking on the same domain that i use to host some of my landing pages. This being said i have read that it is good to have your tracking on a completely different server than your website if you can. This is recommended to increase both speed of tracking and load speeds of your landing pages. Also it is highly recommend that you use a VPS Linux server with SSD drive. Having slow hosting can hurt your conversions.

      2) I use CPVLab and the user would be able to see your domain. I would suggest not using a domain with your last name for tracking. Also i would suggest also getting a privacy option on your domains so that no one can look you up on whois. Hope this helps answer your questions.

      To Your Success!

    • Sunday Update:

      - I have been spending most of this weekend getting up my PPV campaign for an Insurance product. I have decided to go right ahead and put up this campaign on all 3 PPV networks (LeadImpact, TrafficVance, 50onRed). Its much faster to add campaigns to all 3 networks in one shot, rather than coming back later and trying to transfer it over.

      - My subscriber list from my E-Book is up to 70 subscribers. I believe by this week i should have my funnel in place, and my list will start getting regular high quality content.

      - While going through all the example landing pages i have archived on my computer, to decide what to send to my list i got some great ideas of some landing pages i would like to try and implement this week on some of my campaigns. In particular i would like to get some video landing pages up.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

  • Monday Night Update:

    - I had a long conversation with my Traffic-Vance Rep today. Its amazing what you can learn from the people on the inside when you become friends. The fact that i can call and have a smart person to deal with at TrafficVance, is amazing. I still convert more offers through LeadImpact, but Trafficvance customer support, and speed of interface is much better. LeadImpact may have a little more volume, but there interface is slow and its extremely difficult to reach anybody by phone, and email support is slow as well.

    - Spent majority of today expanding and transferring campaigns to TrafficVance and 50onREd. Still a handful more i would like to do before day's end.

  • Monday Evening Update:

    - So my cousin just left a little while ago, and she was able to go through about 15 emails in my funnel, and also we did some filming. I think im going to have to re-do the videos. Being behind the camera takes a little warming up. I am also going to film a video for my WSO sales letter. I am enjoying the process of doing the videos. Its a skill in it of it self that i plan to continue to develop.

    - Today is going to be another $200+ profit day! This is exciting because this is the second time in the last 7 days i broke this number.

    - Its exciting watching my vision slowly come together. Everything is taking longer than i had anticipated, but I am still happy with my progress. I am still at the beginning of my journey, and love how exciting and limitless this business can be.

Last month was my best IM month and I am pretty sure I will beat it this month. Gogogo.

    • Hey Drazz,

I actually have been lagging a bit getting my PPV opt-in up and running. I know with solo-ads (for IM niche), people try and get 30% or greater opt-in (Solos seem to cost about $40 for 100clicks). This means that people are aiming for an opt-in for about $1 or less if possible. For PPV I imagine it would be much lower. If you are paying 1.5 cents per pop, you could send 67 pops for $1. So if you have a 1.4% opt-in or better that seems like it should be good cause you are paying $1 or less per subscriber.

What kind of opt-in rate have you been getting thus far with your weight loss campaign?

My goal for the rest of the week, it completely focused on my list building. I hope to get up a PPV campaign with an opt-in, along with purchase a solo ad by weeks end. Once i have done some personal testing ill give you some of my opt-in numbers.

Hey Bobson, thanks for the kind words and support!

  • Daily diaries are gold in the IM niche. They help you and keep you accountable.

I highly recommend them. Don't worry about what you post or who reads it, just do it daily and you'll be shocked at what you did that day or didn't do.

  • Tuesday Update:

    - I am working hard to set everything up so i can buy a solo-ad in the IM Niche by the end of the week. I will do some split testing as follows. Split test 2 different opt-in pages, split test 2 differnt paths for people whom opt-in. One path that has a thank you page where i will try and pre-sell an affiliate offer, second path that has a thank you redirect, it will say thank you for 3 seconds, than re-direct to an affiliate offer.

One of the opt-in pages i will be testing is the one that i use when you click on my signature, but i will remove the name field so all they have to enter is their email. I will also turn off the double opt-in feature for my solo purchases.

    - I will also try and get my PPV Opt-in pages set up. One for my profitable stock program i promote, one for health, and one for the IM niche. For the stock and health, i do not currently have a report to give away, so i may just have an opt-in that says something like " Discover how to start finally making money trading stocks in 2014" optin button--> "Get Access Now". Once they opt-in they will be redirected to an affiliate offer that has a sales video.

Theses are my two main goals of the week. If i can get all these set up and get a solo ad out by the end of the week, it will be great!

    Happy Holidays!
    Merry Christmas!

  • Are you saying you are going to wait before your list hit 1,000 subscriber to start email them? Anyways I wouldn't wait, start building a good relationship asap, because if you wait they may just forget who your are.

Happy Holidays! I was actually saying that i would pay for a coach after i had some time to learn the business a little on my own. I intend to promote offers and provide high quality content from the start. Hopefully i will schedule my first solo-ad purchase tomorrow.

    • Thursday Update:

      - I pretty much set up my funnel how i want it for now, to be ready to handle solo ads.

      - I added an exit pop to both of my opt-in pages. For now i have them both going to an affiliate offer.

      - Today I emailed one of my favorite Internet marketers in the business. I believe that he is one of the true big boys in the industry. My only relation to this person at the moment is that I have purchased many of his WSOs. I offered him the right to my exit-pops for my solo-ads campaign for nothing in return, just as potential way to work with him in the future. I intend to spend about $1000 in the next month buying solo-ads, so my exits pops will probably get around 1500 hits themselves.

I am doing this because i think he's one of the best, and if i can start to build a relation, it is well worth my exit-pops. I will keep you guys posted to whether he responds, and hopefully takes my offer.

      - I hope to purchase and schedule my first solo-ad tonight.

      Hey Naveen,

Thanks for the kind words, and following my thread. I also would like to congratulate you on your "WSO of the Day"! That's a very impressive! Also i very much like the simplicity and feel of your sales page. Nice and clean!

      Hey Mithya,

Hope you're doing well! Thanks for continuing to follow PPV profits per day are still hovering around the $100 profit per day mark. Its a little slow this week, cause some of my offers are paused until after the new year.

My list building efforts should be fun! I have probably purchased and gone through about 10 solo-ad WSOs alone. It feels good to finally get to this point. Now its just about keeping my foot on the gas peddle.

    • Tuesday Update:

      - My main focus of today is to work on a few of my email follow up series. For the solo i purchased yesterday, there is only 5 days/ 5 messages in the follow up series. Im am also split testing different funnels so i have to make sure all follow series are working properly.

      - My Driver License is about to expire, so i have to goto the DMV today and take a photo, and pay renewal fees. Not internet marketing but has to get done so im not driving around with an expired license.

I'll have another update later today.

  • Hey Ben,
Thanks for keeping us informed. You are truly an inspiration. I wish I could take as much action as you. As soon as I come to the CPA section of WF yours thread is the first that i look for.
Wish you a very happy new year...

  • Hi!

I've just finished reading all that thread. Very good info about PPV.
I've been successful on PPC and now I want to expand my business because I don't like to depend on payed traffic. So I started email marketing. I've set my emails follow up funnel (31 for now, in the health niche) and I want to send PPV traffic to a squeeze page. I know people who make XX.XXX figures per month with PPV traffic to a squeeze page and after promoting affiliate offers through email marketing. I did some PPC traffic to a squeeze page but is too expensive .
I don't have experience in building a PPV squeeze page. I've think to pay someone for this. Can you tell me what soft are you using to setup your PPV pages and how you insert your autoresponder box into the page? I only have experience with wordpress blogs to build squeeze pages, and i know that for PPV you need a simple html page because is faster.

    Thank you!
  • Great post and i appreciate you coming back and updating us, cheers mate

    • Hey Mithya! Happy New Years to you as well. Thank you for your continued support. As long as you keep taking action in the right direction, you'll get to where you want to go.

      Hey Spartan,

I think the strategy you have laid out is a smart one. I also plan to do exactly as you suggest. Create opt-in campaigns with a good funnels in place. The beauty is you can do this for many different niches as well eventually.

To be honest i was doing a lot of simple HTML at first, but recently i have been using Optimizepress2 (would put an affiliate link but i dont think that allowed). Autoresponders easily integrate, and i like that in most cases it will auto fit to your window size. If you goto the ebook in my sig, that page was built on optimizepress, also if you make the window smaller, it will resize accordingly. Also it allows you to easy add an exit pop. I think speed probably is effected slightly, but more importantly i think you must have good hosting in place to handle the income traffic.

Anyways, I hope this helps a bit. The strategy you talked about i think is what all successful people in internet marketing do!

      Hey Carlos,

Thanks for the support, appreciate you following.

  • It has been a little bit since I checked this thread, but how are solos converting for you?

I have had bad luck and always been weary.
    • [1] reply
    • Hey Greedy!

I haven't really monetized my list just yet. I am giving a away a free ebook on the front end, and dont really have any type of offers im promoting on the front end. My funnel is filled with high payout offers ($100+) so i wanted to build a slight relationship and give value at first. I will report back once more people have gone further down my funnel.

My optin rate for solo's have been amazing at close to almost 50%. I have heard a lot of people say recently, that its not always the size of your list, but the relationship, and responsiveness of it.

I am hoping this list can turn into a quality list of buyers, but my backup plan is to create a list for the purpose of selling solo-ads if they seem to only be freebie seekers. i will probably segment my list accordingly in the near future.

Anyways its always good to see you stop by!!

      Happy New Years Greedy!!!

      -Ben Lawrence
  • Friday Update:

    - My solo ads are slowly coming in, and so are my number of subscribers. I am currently at about a 45% optin rate after about 250 clicks. I have 120 subscribes from my sig, and another 120 from solo-ads, + another 10 from JV giveaway, + another 10 from PPV. So I am pretty much at 260 total subscribers. I should be at 1000+ by the end of next week.

    - Some of my PPV offers I have implemented have time restrictions as to when they will accept leads, so i am going to have to add day segmenting to this campaign.

    - My optin rate for PPV is pretty bad, i am getting leads coming in but right now i paying a little over $3 per lead which is kinda high. This means my opt-in rate for PPV is under 1%. If i could get that to 5% + optin that would be amazing. Anybody else have stats for there PPV optin rates?

    - My intention for the rest of the weekend, is to fill up my autoresponder with more messages. For my optin funnel I am only at 13 messages, but i would like to get this to about 21.

    - I am still not quite sure how i am going to handle subscribes after they have finished the email follow up series. I am trying to automate the process as much as possible, but it seems like i might have to start sending a daily email, not sure yet.

    Happy Friday Everyone!

    Onward and Upwards!

    -Ben Lawrence
  • Friday Night Update:

    - Got a little trigger happy and just purchased about $300 worth of solo-ads, from 17 different vendors from (safe-swaps). This ended up being an additional 950 clicks that are incoming to my optin. With the additional purchases and the ones im currently waiting for I have a total of 1348 clicks on there way.

    - For each solo i purchase i append the tracking so i add ...John_Doe_010314_100for35
What this shows is name of seller, date of purchase, prices for clicks ($35 for 100clicks). So when i look into my CPVlab i can see exactly how many clicks they delivered and what they where supposed to, along with the price.

    - Time to keep plugging away, on my funnel. The process of adding tracking to each email, and sometimes to landing pages is a time consuming process, along with testing to make sure everything works properly. I am sure this will get easier, and hopefully soon enough outsource some time consuming processes.

    Onward and Upwards!

  • Hi Ben

Congrats on the path to success and wishing you the best.

What dimensions do you use for Leadimpact Landing pages?
    • [1] reply
    • Hey Vignesh for your support, i usually keep my LPs around 795px by 400px. this size will ensure your pop is is small enough to fit in LeadImpact, TrafficVance, and 50onred's window size. Hope this helps.

      To Your Success!

  • Monday Update:

    - I have been hard at work this weekend, creating different funnels, and landing pages. I also have done some more keyword research. My under 1% optin for PPV is way to low, and know i just need to test some more before i find a combo that works. If i can start getting leads under $1 that would be great.

    - I have attached a screen shot of my Aweber account. I have reached 550 subscribers between all my lists. I haven't monetized yet, but hopefully soon once some people get further down my funnel. Also hoping to get to 1000+ by the end of the week. This should be possible because i have multiple solo-ads still on the way.

    - I have a few PPV campaigns that i need to go thru and day part. This is easy todo but probably take me an hour cause its about 30 different campagins. Great job eventually for a virtual assistant.

Hope everybody had a great weekend and start to there week.

    • Thursday Update:

      - Got my first Aweber commission. It was for 33 cents, 1/3 of the $1 free month trial. I have heard of some affiliate marketers out there that making more than $10k / month just on Aweber residual checks from people on the monthly plan. I only need a few more thousand sign ups

      - Up to 675 total subscribers. I only have 250 clicks incoming left, so in order to get my list to 1000 by the end of the week I'm going to have to buy more clicks (solo-ads). I will probably buy another $200 worth of clicks today. That should buy me about 500 clicks which means 500 visitors to my opt-in page. My opt-in rate is probably around 35% now.

      - I have spent a lot of time today going through my PPV campaigns, and looking at what keywords need to paused. I have had some keywords that worked great for like 2 months, but than the last 2 months the keyword performs horribly. I am not quite sure why this happens but i have come across this a few times. That being said its a good idea to always check up on your campaigns even if they are on autopilot mode.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

  • Great work and this thread have inspired my alot. Keep on rocking
  • Nice job cracking the 500 milestone.
  • seems like this thread is all over the place.

i actually was reading for your PPV diary and it seems like you migrated away to list building with solos.

i'm not a huge solo ad fan myself..at least not in the IM field...product development works better in this field.

    make a product
    sell a product
    get affiliates to push it
your job is to get affiliates on board.

its WAY easier to make that profitable than list building via solos

    just my opinion.

anyways, i'm getting into CPA, and really media buying more than anything...banners, etc.

this is an interesting read though from the PPV world.

i probably lost about 100 bucks and got fed up with it..the list building quality was quite low (For me)

but, i didnt give it a fair shake

earlier in yoru thread you broke it down by total ad spend, total income, net loss/profit. can you give us an update on that?

are you also including refunds/clickbank fees/paypal fees/ etc in these numbers? if not..you should

good luck to you in your journey my friend. i'm subscribing to this thread and hope to hear of your first $1,000 profit day
  • what about the PPV campaign, you dropped it?

Hey Greedy! Thanks, i was not able to hit 1000 last week but this week i am hoping to break that milestone as well.

      - Hey Watsonovedaddes, I am still running PPV traffic pretty aggressively. I currently spend on average of $100, to make about $100 / day profit. My ROI on average with my current PPV campaigns is right about 100% ROI.

Hope everyone is having a good start to their week!

I am testing out some different strategies for some high payout offers. I am getting openings and clicks, so my back-up plan for my list built thru solo-ads, is to potential start selling solo-ads.

  • Tuesday Update:

    - So I have went ahead and hired a high end coach to help sharpen up my list building game. My goal with this coach is to try and be his fastest highly successful student. I pretty much feel like i have a great understanding of the game already, and having a coach will fine tune a few things that will accelerate my path to success. The model that he will be teaching me is building a list through solo-ads to eventually sell solo ads.

    - I was in a very talkative mood today and had many skype voice chats .
    1) My new coach and I had a 30 min chat, he gave me some assignments which i hope to finish today (ToDos for Coach: Create New Optins, Choose Offers, Create Email follow series)
    2) Talked to an AM from a New Affiliate Network I join today. Had a 20 min conversation about his network, and a little small talk as well. Asked him to send me networks best offers.
    3) My W4 AM called me today, and we had a good 10 min chat. I asked her to send me all offers that are converting well with PPV traffic in 2014.

    - This week i did research on a handful of PPV offers I would like to set-up campaigns for in the next week.

    - I am leaving To Park City Utah tomorrow morning to go Snowboarding for a week. I will be bringing my laptop with me, and be working when I am not rippin it up on the mountain !

Hope everyone is having a incredible start to their week!

  • Hey Ben,

Thanks a lot for your continued response on our queries. I am doing well and I have been taking action with my ppv effort.

I got some questions for you again. Please be kind to answer them when you get some time.

    i) Is self targeting on ppv allowed by advertisers. Isnt it hijacking the offer? I asked few AMs and they said u can use domain variations but not the actual domain itself.

ii) I remember you had started using 50onred. So do you have some opinion on the traffic quality and the cost there now? Also be great if you could tell the order in which you like these ppv networks LI,TV and 50onred.

Thanks a lot for your support and I wish you all the success with your ppv and list building efforts. You are truly an inspiration, my friend.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I have been following your thread and downloaded and read your EBook and must say you are doing a great job, Ben. You certainly have moved at great speed to update yourself as an Internet Marketer and should be an internet marketing "guru" before long if you continue at this pace.

I have 3 questions for you.

    1) In "WARNING" under "Lead Impact Set Up", you wrote the following
"Often times a keyword can sneak in there that eats up your daily budget very quickly."

Are you saying keywords/urls you have not inserted can find its way into your campaign?

    2) About how many urls/keywords do you have inserted for each campaign on the average.

    3) You indicated Lead Impact's pop-up window size as 775px by 475px in your EBook while i see 800px by 600px stated on the Lead Impact website.

    Which is right?

    Thanks
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • One thing I like about Big that he take action...congrat bro
  • Awesome Thread. Congratulations Ben.
    • [1] reply
    • Hey Mithya!

      i) Self targeting with PPV is allowed as long as the offer allows it. If it specifically states that you cannot bid on trademarked terms than i would not self bid. It could be looked at like hijacking the offer, and that's why some Offers don't allow it. I would talk to your AM again, cause i think every offer on there network usually has its own restrictions.

ii) 50onRed i have concluded to be a very good traffic source. It is a great addition to Trafficvance and LeadImpact. I would say i like all of them all a lot. As far as quality of traffic i would say that i havent done enough testing to make any conclusions. They all seem to have about the same quality as of right now.

      LeadImpact:
      Pros:
      - I'm the most familiar with
      - Best volume of traffic.
      - Allows the most keywords variations that can get you cheap traffic on expensive urls/kwywords

      TrafficVacne:
      Pros:
      - You have an Rep at the company you can speak to
      - They have a very clean and easy to use interface

      50onRed
      Pros:
      - Easy to get into, and cheapest initial deposit at $500
      - Easy to use interface
      - Great addition to TrafficVance and LeadImpact when expanding campagins

Anyways hopes this helps, and keep up the good work!

      Hey Dele,

Thanks for the very kind words, actually reading the Guide, and following my thread!

      1) No, what i meant was that sometimes while you are adding keywords that you may by accidentally add a rouge keyword. For example i have personally added the word "keyword" to my keywords by accident twice, cause i was copying over some keywords from an excell file where the top cell had the word "keyword". I didnt look over my keywords carfully enough, and only found out my mistake the next day when the word "keyword" ate up my whole $5 daily budget on LeadImpact. That why i set all of my campagins to $5 daily budget at first.

      2) I would say you should collect between 10-15 Urls at first with an Alexa rating of 100,000 or less so you can get some decent traffic. Once you find a keyword that converts, than you can do variations and start expanding.

      3) The reason I recommend 775px by 475px is because depending on what tool bars the user has on there web browser, it can slightly reduce the viewable area of the pop-up. By making your creative fit 775px by 475px you will always be safely within the pop-up's viewable space.

Hope this helps, and thanks again for the kind words!

Thanks for the kind words, and continuing to follow!

      Hey Ddev,

Thanks for reading and the kind words!

    • Tuesday Update:

      - The new version of CPVLAB just got released, V 2.17. I currently have BeyondHosting performing the update for me. (One of the best parts of BeyondHosting is they perform lots of server tasks for you). The update will make it possible to track mobile traffic better (i currently dont run any mobile traffic), and also better ways to view and analyze data. With this update CPVLAB will probably gain some more market-share, because people now have a good tracking option besides imobitrax for mobile tracking.

      - Started implementing my mourning routine this week. This includes:
      a) Wake up
      b) Read motivational book 30 min (ex. Think and Grow rich, The Power of Now)
      c) Meditation - 11 min. I just sit silently and follow my breath
      d) Drink my Green Shake (Product is called Green Vibrance)
      e) Affirmations (Current affirmations from "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" by T. Harv Eker.
      f) GET TO WORK!

      - I have a lot of to-dos for both PPV and List building that i will be working on today.

    • Tuesday Update:

      - So i finally finished setting up my new funnel for solo ads. Already some very cool results. Spent $55 today for solo-ads. Got about about 200 clicks, and 100 opt-ins so a 50% opt-in rate! Also after opt-in Ive started sending users to an offer with a $35 payout. Got 1 sale as well. So pretty much spent $20 ($55 ad spend minus $35 commissions = $20) for 100 op-tins, which comes out to about 20 cents per opt-in which is great. Im upto 1250 subscribers as of today. This number should go up quickly now cause i am going to put a decent budget in solo-ads especially if i can build my list for cheap and potentially for free.

      - I got kicked off my host and post Insurance offer that was making $100 per day. I got an email from the owner of the affiliate network saying that the lead buyers where not able to convert any of my leads. This brings my PPV total down quite a bit. Even though this was a profitable campaign, it was very time consuming, so part of me is happy I now have more time to focus on my other PPV campaigns and projects.

      - This week I met an Internet Marketer through a family friend of mine. He's knowledgeable about Mobile CPA, so after meeting we decided to work together to setup some campaigns. The last 2 days we have been working hard setting up Mobile Campaigns. It is a nice change having a project with someone to work. Also the potential in the Mobile CPA space is incredible, so its very exciting.

      - I have a handful PPV campaigns i would like to get up by the end of the week. I already know what campaigns i would like to set-up, i just have to do some keyword research and than just setup the campaign.

Anyways, hope everybody having a great start to there week!

      Onward and Upwards!

      -Ben Lawrence
