CPA Real-Talk...CPA Marketing Like a GAZILLIONAIRE (kidding)

Time For Some CPA Real Talk!!!

As I tell people all the time, the formula for online success is VERY Straightforward.

The Right Information + Action = Success

The problem is that most “information” online is slanted to meet somebody’s hidden agenda. It’s all biased. It’s wrong. It’s all pure HOGWASH.

So Here’s What I Did…

I reached out to my subscriber audience and offered to do something special…

They can submit any question they wanted and I would jump on camera, answer the questions without any script, any pitch, any objective, any ANYTHING. Just straight up real-talk answers...like I would if we were sitting in a coffee shop having a discussion.

Hundreds of questions came in.

And I Answered MANY Questions About CPA Marketing...

And since this is the CPA forum, I thought many of you would like to hear my answers.

BE FOREWARNED:
  • All of the answers were off the top of my head without preparation so there are stutters, corrections, etc etc
  • I could have come up with much better answers looking back, but that wasn't the point. The point was to shoot from the hip and just be real...so keep in mind that not every answer is exactly how I would answer if I answered it again (not sure that sentence made sense...oh well, you get the point).
  • Don't read too much into the answers. Take action and worry about your business and don't just throw your hands up on what you're doing just to follow my opinions here.
  • These are purely, 100% my opinions and NOT professional advice or anything like that.

But I really think this type of no bias talk will be refreshing and will help a lot of you out.

VIDEO #2-6 Coming Soon

Good Luck CPAing My Friends,

Ken aka "Kenster"

PS: If you enjoy the video, let me know. I used to do a series of posts for the CPA forum here but I've been so busy these past couple of years I haven't been in here nearly as much, so this is just a little token to make up for my lack of participation.

PPS: Unfortunately I don't answer most of my PMs these days for productivity reasons but I will try stopping by this thread often to answer some of the more popular questions.

PPPS: If there are a lot of super good vibes, maybe I'll consolidate the questions from this thread and shoot another video(s) answering them...just for you guys and gals.

Thanks for the video, I'm trying to break into CPA and this is exactly what I need right now.

Eagerly awaiting your CPA network acceptance guide.
Pretty ****ing infuriating how none of them seem to accept newbies, yet the first thing anyone ever advises you to do when starting CPA is to join one.

    A Forumercial?

Just kidding Kenster in your heart and soul I know you love to give value but your Brand Name is really all I can see here.

I started the video and by the time I got to your first answer it was a non answer and my attention span expired. :p

I love you bro I know where you came from and where you are and where you are going and its all good but what if everyone takes on this format for every post?

    -Art

Art...haha, yeah I just boosted some of the copy I had to give people some background on how the whole concept came to be. I just trimmed away some of it right now.

In terms of the answer to the first question...that IS the only answer I would ever give. There is NO best network and newer CPAers tend to struggle with that concept. They think getting into the "best" network will increase their chances of success...instead of focusing on the traffic and tactical side of CPA which is what they should be doing.

But many of the answers in the entire series of 100 or whatever questions are pretty broad. Unfortunately the broader the question, the broader the answer and the more specific the question the more specific the answer...generally speaking.

The whole point was to just answer the best I could without having all the information from the person asking the question and without having any preparation from my end.

But I knew there may be mixed reactions about the post because there is so much skepticism in this industry (for good reason) so we'll see how the comments go. Positive and I'll convert and upload the rest of the vids. Negative and I'll quickly nix the entire thing...no biggie

    Happy CPAing

For sure Art...the entire Real Talk "project" was unplanned with no objective other than helping out. I actually don't do many products anymore...rather stick to my main biz and also high end consulting type stuff...less drama haha

I vaguely remember the Luke Sample craziness that went on but forget exactly what it was about...probably for the better :p

CPA is a shady industry, which is why I am trying stay away from CPA networks and build my own lists instead.

Test, track and tweak your opt-in squeeze pages and acquire your own leads, and then optimize each lead's lifetime value (with practically anything -- affiliate products, your own products, leads which you can resell offline, multiple CPA offers, etc.) This business model is a lot more stable and profitable than just promoting (directly or via a landing page) CPA offers. However, CPA can still be VERY profitable, but for a short term IMO.

    Very nice, Ken!

All good tips from a great marketer!

It may look like a WSO as some people said, but I think it's fine. People pay (sometimes a lot) for WSOs, and this one has a lot of value for free.

    Awesome video, Ken!

Warriors are getting some great advice from you here and the best part is - it's all for free

CPA marketing can be an insanely lucrative business model. However, it can also be very hands on which some people don't like.

I've had many sleepless nights managing my PPV to CPA campaigns (because I'm based in the UK and I mainly target US visitors), but the great thing about CPA marketing is that you can use it to fund other projects and diversify your business.

To anyone thinking about getting started with CPA marketing, I would say go for it. You may have to invest a little to get started and also get used to baby-sitting your campaigns, but once you start seeing some results, you'll have a great opportunity to scale your efforts and move into other areas of business - either online or offline.

    Thanks,

    - Marcus

Great video ken! Some useful tips there relevant for those who want to get into CPA in 2013! Offers come and go by, Networks come and go by, but the basics of CPA remain the same- testing, tracking & optimizing. The traffic sources will also keep getting wider now that even mobiles have come into picture!
