Newbie here. First profits 5 consec. days

Special shout out to those that have helped me along the way. I've made some profits on some of the 30+ dating offers on PeerFly targeting men in large metro areas. I've already made over $35 dollars today with only $2.33 spent and it's only 9 in the morning! My average ROI for the past couple of days is around 185%. Thanks to Luke, Nate, Kyle and Lauren @ PF for the help. Persistence pays off gentlemen. Read the forums, speak to your AMs, test, track, and optimize. Don't give up.

Question to the veterans...I have two creatives that are performing very well (~.133 CTR with over 20K impressions each). Besides creating the same banner and ad 10 times, how else can I scale the campaign? Thanks again everyone!

Thanks Noctilus. The best feeling was when I woke up this morning to see this. I forgot to pause my campaigns last night on POF and there was about 8 conversions in a row starting at 1am EST.

Thanks Leury. I'm far from mastering this niche, but I want to move on to campaigns like CPA, Pay-Per-Call and PPV. $3-$6 payouts are nice for now, but I want to expand. I just need to do more research.

Congratulations on the success of your campaigns! You can try to expand on your current targeting or another thing I've seen success with is duplicating your campaign over on Facebook. POF has gotten more strict and from what I can tell things are getting a bit easier to get approved on Facebook so as long as you setup your targeting properly and your ad copy is within the Facebook Guidelines you should be able to get approval and run there as well

BTW, we're working on getting pay-per-call campaigns added to PeerFly. We've got a lot on our plate, but it's one of the things pretty high up on our priority list.

      Luke,

Thanks for the advice. I've launched a couple of campaigns on FB, but can't ever seem to get a conversion ratio comparable to POF. POF is very easy to target because you can use their conversion report to narrow down the click origins, thus increasing your CTR and lowering your expenses. With FB, I find it difficult to target. For instance, there's a Golf Dating site from CPAtrend that I tried to promote on FB. I targeted 30+ males, created a FB fan page, and an ad. I was able to get some clicks, but my conversion ratio was about 2% and my ROI was always in the red. If they did click, I couldn't track the age or any of the important demographics to optimize. I know there's a lot of other variables that affect conversion, i.e. offer, target market, time of day, etc., but I can't seem to break the code. I'll try playing with it more and do more research. I wonder if Zuckerberg's new initiative will have ad space.

Congratulations! Your hard work is paying off. I too am new to Internet Marketing. I ran a Facebook ad with a landing page for a few days and obtained a CTR of 3%. I managed to get a few email addresses, but no conversions. Because it is a social platform, it seemed that folks "liked" the ad. The engagement was nice but they were not really buying, do I stopped the ad. At least that is my experience. Good luck to you. You are doing great!

So these earning figures are from more than 1 offer, right? Are you targeting pretty broad or niche? Dl or LP? You're off to a good start for sure...just add more campaigns!

Dating offers plural, targeting based off of conversion report after getting about 25 clicks for each ad/banner. Some are DI and some are LP. My LPs have been converting better which is no surprise. Trying to do more campaigns, but it's really time consuming since I'm new to this. I was looking into POFpro. But when I tried running it, I was never getting any clicks to my LPs. I think it has a lot to do with me running on a shared server (too much traffic, not enough resources). Once I generate enough income, I will look into VPS.

      Dave,
I think you know the answer to your problem. Have you tried running a whole bunch of photos with different texts? What about ads, colors, borders, etc. That's what I did before I found the right combinations for the right age groups for the right regions for the right intent, etc. It was hard work, but I eventually found it.

I am doing this, but it's discouraging that almost every single ad I put up fails. I got some up around .05% now at least. I do think I had some problems with my targeting though which I've trying new stuff on.

    Congratulations on your success!

Regarding scaling the campaign, first, consider raising your budget. Then, add more creatives and, if your traffic source allows, go a bit broader with the targeting (sometimes it lowers the ROI a little bit, but it can be ok if the volume increases).

Well, I guess all good things come to an end. For my money making campaign, Peerfly contacted me saying that their client wanted them to cut off my aff ID because my leads weren't of good quality (they were losing money). Does this happen a lot in the industry?

I tried the same creatives, same LPs and same demographics on a similar offer on a different network. I was getting the same CTR, but my conversions were almost non-existent. Back to square one I guess.

Yes, unfortunately it's very common. Basically, as an advertiser, paying for CPA means that each paid action has to generate some amount of revenue. So if they are paying you $2 per submit, they have to figure out based on what % of your actions convert and what the ultimate earning for them is, whether or not it's profitable. If they pay you $2 per submit, and they make $20 per conversion on their end, but your traffic only converts at 1 out of every 20 users, then they are losing money and will kick you.

That might be why, usually younger dating users aren't as valuable to dating sites as older users are. It's why 25+ offers have different payouts from 35+, etc.

this was just an example. why go through all of the hard work split testing if you're going to give away the farm.

but there is a way to figure out this info if you split test enough. for example, you can do split tests that target male blondes in three states. In your creatives, you would put, "looking for fellow blondes?", in another creative put, "girls in {state:your state} are looking for fellow blondes." Do this for every hair color, see which one has the highest CTR and BAM, you've got your Nevada ginger looking for brunettes as your money maker. I tested about 12 angles, this is just one of them.

oh for sure that i know how to do lol. My question was more because i wondered how you could have got to know your converting demo from a broad targeting campaign...since the only ways are to look at POF's conversion report or splittesting every criterias.

Keep your head up! You can make some small modifications to your campaign and try it with a new offer. We have a ton of great offers and I know we can get your campaign working well again with one of them. Just because one advertiser cannot get your traffic to back out does not mean it's bad traffic. Our clients monetize your traffic in different ways and pretty often I'll see one advertiser blacklist a publisher and another ask for more traffic. This is just another reason why it's so important to split test

no tricks. do your research. shortcuts will not get you anywhere in this game. as a new guy, i can't stop working. i am always checking my computer and my phone every 15 minutes to see if there's a conversion. whenever i'm on a long run, i'm excited to get home to see how many green bars are on on my screen. is this what addiction feels like?

Good job and it happen to me too. Start first day very bad than second one skyrocket, than stable and than dropped.
I check everything and I completely changed my landing page. From direct offer I set up landing page and I reach the goal again. (Used LeadImpact PPV network and MaxBounty German adult dating offer). Make some changes and go on, do it again!

      Congratulation again!

P.S. It can be done and I know that dating offers convert great. People love to date, flirt, meet rather than spend for some money making scam program. I find my potential in dating offers as I love to date as well, lol
