It is not recommended to have shared hosting. Prosper requires a lot of resources to run. So might want to check out a VPS.

    Hope that helps!

  • Please do not run any paid traffic on shared hosting. You will lose clicks and profit. Use a VPS at a bare minimum. I suggest BeyondHosting.

    • I've moved from p202 to bevomedia and using my VPS for landing pages.
      never looked back.

t202 team seems to just want to help their paid members.
    • I agree! It isn't worth the risk.

  • Bluehost doesn't like those types of scripts running on their shared servers either. They may deactivate your account if you do it. I had this happen to me with a different type of script. You see, when you are on a shared server there are others that are hosting on the same server and their websites will be affected by your running that type of script because you will be using the servers resources for a very demanding script. Prosper usually won't install correctly on a shared server without copious amounts of programming. Bevo is a great choice and I highly recommend it.

  • I'd agree with everyone else, don't run p202 on anything less then a vps. You can get a vps for just a little but more than what you pay for share hosting.
  • but im just newbie and iwill not drive big traffic to my landing page what about 1000 click a day its not big for shared host
i have a shared host plane for 3 year on bluehost with one domain so becaus i have not a lot of money for vps now i want to try now with what i have .

    • As people have said already shared hosting really won't cut it.

Even if you manage to get it up and running on Bluehost it will only be a matter of time before you begin to run into problems with resources.

It's a better investment of your time to get it up and running on a stable platform that is not going to have any problems.

If you're prepared to take the time to learn how to set up a server then a $5 hosting plan at DigitalOcean would suffice. The documentation in their knowledge base is also really in-depth and helpful.
  • Yes, It hard for newbie to run VPS
  • can you provide me your Skype id, i will help you, i have lot of experience prosper202 installation and configuration.

    • seen shared host, not recommend.

You can use affportal from bevo for free. it can do more then p202 can do. I find the features alone have greatly helped. geo target, dayparting, OS & browser target. Your able to scale your traffic without any limits! I use it every day. Its always been free.

  • You want it to run well/stable so you need a VPS, end of story.

    • You dont want to loose traffic you ahve paid for rite ? so go for VPS
  • You can have a good VPS for like $7-10/m. Of course it won't have cpanel, but if you check some tutorials, you will know how to host your website without using cpanel, and only have the mandatory stuff like mail server.

  • Can somebody help to get out of the loop? I was very interested in reading this thread. I am a newbie in CPA, I have been co-product owner for a while before, so I "trained" a bit in all the areas of IM but if you own the product obviously you have less hassle (no real need to manage tracking software P202 no need workaround to advertise with adwords and so on... xyz less "problems"..

Now I started with CPA and obviously I am very careful with my ROI. I am jumping into the cold water and I am fine with that. The point of my question is... if you have to choose from running P202 on a shared server (using go daddy) and good budget for paid ads (7 search) or buy a VPS for P202 and consequently reduce the budget to spend in ads what would you opt for?

I understand that a lot of people replying in this thread saying P202 on VPS and question over have no issue for the money that they are making to pay for a P202 but if you are at the beginning of CPA, calculating your ROI, is it really necessary to have a VPS?

Point is I might think to have a VPS for the tracking once I start to see some ROI from my campaigns. Until I don't see that does it make sense?

For me it is kind of a loop... ads budget--> check ROI --> all the ROI --> reinvest in paid ads--> Check ROI again --> reinvest in a VPS + reinvest in paid ads

What is your opinion? I know you have all been newbie one day, fighting your personal battle, try to re-step again into a newbie shoes
  • I would never recommend shared host for tracking, Landing pages or anything other. Unless you are only sending less than 100 visitors a day.
  • As everyone else is clearly saying, do not run it with share hosting at all..

It's been my personal experience.. I had hostgator shared hosting, fb sent 200+ clicks and it only recorded 80 or so.. you don't want this, trust me..

    • I got it.. zero warriors on the not shared hosting side
I read some thread about suggested VPS by other warriors.. what about unmanaged VPS since they are cheaper and they do not seem so difficult to setup.. any experience/suggestion with that?
