My Question about HTML Landing Page vs WordPress Landing Page

I have no problem with WordPress... I think it's great for setting up a website. But the themes I've worked with are pretty structured in a single thematic style. I don't know if there are any WordPress themes that allow you to change the look post by post or page by page. If there is one, that would be great.

So if WordPress theme is not changeable by post or page, I think you would be stuck with the same look for all your landing pages... Unless you wanted to do a WordPress install for each landing page. That seems like a waste and a resource hog. Also, new WordPress updates come out several times a year. More maintenance.

For the above reasons, I like plain old html, css, and an image folder. It's simple, flexible and I don't see how you could go wrong with it.

Most marketers prefer HTML pages because they load quicker. However, I've been split testing this for about 6 months now and I can tell you that the performance of both HTML and WordPress are almost identical. I think that as long as you don't overload Wordpress with add-on's you'll be okay. Also, I wouldn't do this on a shared server. If you get a reputable VPS with fast performance then WP should be fine.

There are plenty of them out there, but be sure to check the stats at WordPress.org when reviewing the features of them. Go to WordPress.org and search the plugins area for "pop-ups", "popup", "pre-pop", "exit pop" and other variations. You will see a large variety of them. Look at the user reviews, check to see if the plugin is updated after and is current, as well as looking at the specifications and screen shots.

There are a lot of them, choose wisely

  If you look in the classified ad section of this forum you will find many warriors that will make landing pages for you. Also, check out Fiverr, there are many there that build landing pages.
  
  You can always edit these landing pages in note pad, Kompozer, etc.

Either one is great. Even if you choose to use wordpress you would be better off still knowing some html and css so that way you can customize your template to meet your needs

A simple HTML is all you need. They are much more flexible, and less bulky. Using a Wordpress blog for a landing page is overkill.

I agree with the majority here - HTML landing page is the best. Wordpress is a very good platform, but if you don't have a superfast server then your landing page wont load very fast and speed is of the essence as we are trying to get the visitor when they're in the buying state of mind!

With HTML you can control much more so you can make sure the page loads quicker.
Anything else just ask...
