.1 % CTR Facebook? Sounds right? I don't think so.

heh. I'm so bad with PPC. My goal is to learn every aspect of online marketing. I'm heavy on the SEO portion but extremely bad with PPC.

I setup an ad, been up for 5 days now. Every day my avg ctr is anywhere from .04-.1 % . That's really really bad. Or is it?

I also have a 4% CTR from the Landing page and to the offer. Seems low too?

What I want to know is, what do you focus on changing first/priority? Your target or your picture/ad? Right now this ad is going for 900,000 potential audience.

Thanks.

i think that not too good, you should change your demographic

0.1% is bad for facebook ads, also you should use interest to make sure your ads displayed at right audience

    thanks

on a 900k demo you should be able to get the ctr a lot higher...

the best thing our doing is you are tracking and know your ctr from lander to offer, haha lots of poeple don't even do that...

on 900k demo, assuming its very targeted, aim for a 1%+ CTR - when you're making the ads tell yourself that....will 1% of the people love this ad and find it so relative to them that they will click it??

start split testing on yout 4% ctr from lander and you'll be able to improve it quite fast - start with the headline and images, always have a very very strong call to action.....most people are slow or confused on a computer still (depending on demos), got to tell them exactly what to do!!

It's not great but start making one change then running the new ad for a day or two. Then make another single change and see if the ctr goes up or down. THe change could be a border or overlay or new image or new headline or new text.

Is there an order that you follow? Like "Oh wait, let me do image first. Then next is text. Next is demographics?"

Do you guys keep your audience below a million?

How many different ads have you tried? If it's just one, then try different variations of your ad then filter out the lower ctr ones

I would start here. Like Joel says above you should be able to improve that very quickly.

The problem with adding new images based only on CTR is that you don't know whether they convert or not as they're not making it to the offer. You can often have lower CTR creatives that have a killer CVR and are profitable.

When analyzing a campaign to determine where to start optimizing, start with the weakest of it's moving parts. Placement/demographic, creative, landing page or offer. If the traffic is flowing but not making it to your offer the breakdown is at your lander. Improve that and the next piece of the puzzle will become more obvious.

Personally I always have 2 LPs in rotation, kill the loser then introduce a new one to try and beat the winner. The process never stops.

No matter how much higher you get your ad CTR, if your LP CTR is stuck at 4% you're in for a rough ride.
