Facebook ads - Suggested bid increased so much after ad went live

Hey

I set up an ad and the suggested bid was from $0.05 to $0.41 CPM but after the ad was approved, the suggested bid became from $1.88 to $4.03 and no impressions from like 10 minutes when the ad went live

What should I do considering the ranges not even any close to each other?

It seems like you are actually bidding for both news feed ad and right column ad, you may want to recheck that.
Facebook ads have a little delay after being approved to go live, give it an hour or so to start getting impressions.

I have had this happened to me before. I don't read too much into the suggested bid. I start at the low end and raise my bid up higher until I get clicks.

Kinda old thread I know, but yes this happens to me almost every time also. Suggested bid range almost doubles after the ad is approved.

It increases to a lesser extend if you separate news feed and right side ads (which you should be doing anyways unless you hate money).

Try creating 3-4 duplicates of your ads and set up 3-4 different cpms if you are concerned about getting traffic. This works great as you can find out the threshold of bid required to get the traffic for cheap.
