The why questions of CPA

Hello again all,

As many of you know I recently got accepted into Peerfly and I'm trying to find some faster ways to convert other than 7search. In going through these forums I've found that a lot of CPA marketers have their ad which takes the customer to their landing page, where they pitch the offer, and then their sent to the offer page. At least that's how I understand it.

Now, I'm not bashing anyone cause by all means it clearly works... but I don't understand why we do this, or how it can help conversions. Isn't this just adding another step where you're going to lose people in between?

The other thing I'm a little confused about is how to use a website for your landing page. So I load WP on my sites... HTML is like chinese to me so I'd like to stick with WP... but do you guys just buy a generic domain name and then have different sub domains for every offer you run? So like for WP I'd have a different landing page as a new page of my theme?

Thanks for the help in advance!

The point of having your own site and not just sending them directly to the offer is so that you can pre-sell the product which DEFINITELY helps with conversions.

When I buy a domain name I normally set it up like this ....
    domain.com = BLOG/Main Page
    domain.com/offer1
    domain.com/offer2
    domain.com/keyword1

ect ... so that you can track everything and see what is working best.

Okay I see what you're saying. Thanks for the information

As far as pre-selling them, what exactly do you say on those offer pages? Like one of the CPA offers I was looking at this morning is a $1,000 gift card giveaway. What exactly do I say about that other than the fact that they're giving away a gift card? lol

A little tip ... I can never get those crappy email submits to convert so I would suggest not wasting your time and find something that is more "in need" or an urgent fix. For example ... natural sleeping aids (thought of this at random)

your pre-sell pages would talk about how the product works, reviews, costs ect. The whole idea is to build trust with that viewer where they believe that you have the right solution to their problem and your site seems trustworthy to purchase the product.

How are you planning on driving traffc?

Ok I've heard that a lot so I'll stay away from the e-mail submits. And I messed around a little with PPC and had a couple of conversions. Was thinking of going to POF but I didn't cause I wasn't exactly sure how profitable it could be on an email submit offer but with something else that could definitely work. Depending on how that goes I want to move into PPV/CPV

Again me personally not a fan of dating offers so im naturally not a fan of using POF. I use PPC and PPV, mainly PPV with LeadImpact or DirectCPV I would read all you can but eventually your gonna have to just dip your feet in the water and start testing to see what works. Track everything keep what makes you sales and get rid of the neg keywords/URLS ... overnight millionaire not gonna happen. Earning $100 extra a month within 3 months very possible

Yeah I'm passed the overnight millionaire dreams lol. And I've had lots of success on POF with plenty of things other than just dating offers but yeah I'm gonna try PPV and some other things. Thanks for the input!

A Landing Page great for a several reasons…

    - A landing page gets the user clicking on your website. (That is why you see many polls, or rules to agree to before presenting the offer.) It is the simple concept of the “Yes Ladder”, get the user's mouse/mind in motion for before trying to show them the offer.

    - A landing page grabs the user's interest instead of scaring them away with the “BUY ME” or “JOIN NOW” type of attitude of most offers. If someone sees something trying to collect their info or sell them something too quick, and they may hit the back button pretty fast.

    - A landing page allows you the pitch offer with a specific angle. Maybe you want to promote an offer based on a feature it has, say a weight loss product “Helps you live longer” vs. “Gets you to drop pounds.” Maybe this demographic of people looking to live longer is cheaper for traffic than people looking to drop weight. With a good landing page you can speak to them much better. (Not the greatest angle, but just shows you the power of angles.)

    - A landing page lets you pre-sell the offer. Many ClickBank offers have long intricate sales pages for the simplest $9 offer. Why? Because they work! So making a short sales page for something even as simple as a Dating Offer works!
I hope these 4 points better explain why you need to test a landing page with every offer. 90% of the offers preform better with a proper Landing Page.

You can use a sub-domain, or folders to break up different landing pages.

Also I highly suggest again using Wordpress, it is clunk and going to be hard to make good landing pages with, since it is hard to design with than HTML.

Take 2 days and learn HTML, it is very easy and you can learn it pretty quick. Once you have a decent grasp start playing around with it, and learn from trail and error.

Thank you everyone for the help and Greedy especially, helpful as always

So if you guys don't mind me asking here, as far as HTML goes... I have dreamweaver (I think that's what it's called) on the partitioned windows 7 side of my macbook... is it possible to link dreamweaver to a website that I own and create a landing page that way? If not I'll just work on learning HTML and do it like that.

And Greedy, you don't think that WP could work well if I use a service like optimize press?

For a simple squeeze page yes.

But when it comes to promoting CPA offers, it really doesn't stand much of a chance.

Learn some CSS & HTML, it isn't hard at all.
