Is it whole CPA industry like this?

I know text is a bit longer ,but please read it if you have time and share your toughts

So i am in CPA industry for some time now,i was working with all major CPA and PPD sites, like Adworkmedia, fileice, sharecash etc.
I was never actually wondering why would someone pay like 1$ for simple email submit,or for download/install offer, but for some reason, few days ago i decided to find more info about some CPA offers....here is what i found out.
-Pin submits

i have firstly i have checked Pin submit offers, and i saw that some of them are charging users up to 30$ per month for some really stupid things, like win iphone 5,win ipad etc. and i dont think anyone ever won anything because i looked up on internet and all i found was numerous complaints how those companies are ripping people off

-Email/zip submit

After that i checked on email submits and i found out that ,they are spamming peoples email with hundreds of emails, and many of those emails are promoting shady stuff, also when users enter theirs phone number in that survey ,they will receive phone calls from advertisers,i got 5 phone calls in only 20 minutes
wtf?

Download/Install

At the end i checked download/install offers,of course they are not better than others,i found out that they are installing adware-spyware stuff on PC-s ,like spammy toolbars and programs,f.e Registry cleaner -this program is giving fake message to user that his PC has errors and if you want to fix you need of course buy full version of Registry cleaner, which costs like 30$ and its basically useless( i have checked reviews)......this is just example and other porgrams are same or even worse

So to summarize whole cpa industry is,in my opinion somehow blackhat and there is none legit offers ( or just few legit ones),what are your toughts on this?

The offers you've mentioned above don't last long...Instead try promoting dating offers which has a good reputation or a weight loss product or a finance product they tend to perform well and less spammy than the above ones.

    Good luck

You say that you've been in the CPA industry for some time, yet you're only talking about these shitty and spammy email/pin/download offers. There's a whole world of legit CPA offers (dating, lead gens, etc) out there.

Have you really been spending all your time with email submits? There's more money to be made outside of email submits man.

When you hear of people hitting 4 figure or 5 figure days, they are NOT doing email submits (at least on the affiliate side).

A marketer should know the ins and out of his/her marketing campaign. I know EVERYTHING there is to know about whatever offer I'm running.

I know where my leads are going, I know what they do with my leads, I understand how they justify their cost-per-action, and most importantly, I understand how they make money.

If you know how the merchant makes money, then at the end of the day, you'll make more money.

i never said i am doing only email submits ,but anyway why do you mean that dating offers are legit? Almost all of them are scamming users ,they say that they have bunch of female members and when user pays membership, they find out that actually there are zero female members ,isnt that scam?i am not saying that they are all scams i think adultfriendfinder is legit, but most of them are scams, and also i forgot about those loan offers - just search on internet about payday loans, only thing you will find is that they are huge (probably biggest ) scams in CPA.........of course there are legit ones but you have to admit that there are far more scams than legit offers.
If you know some good offers why dont you share it i am open for suggestions

Niche dating sites, like Black People Meet, Just Single Parents, and so on are all legit offers. Also, I send them female leads. These dating merchant pay much more for female leads and female traffic convert pretty damn well and not only do I send thousands of leads per month, my leads convert for my merchant - meaning that the dating leads I generate actually like the website and are willing to pay for it.

Lumosity was a legit offer that dominated on reddit ads.

    Never promoted Netflix? Or RedBox?

What about JustCloud? They're a legit service.

I killed it with League of Legends back with DotA 2 was in beta.

I could name so many more. Just look harder.

I'm not saying everything I do is squeaky clean - I cloak, I run rebills, I've done email submits. And I'm not saying that scammy offers don't exist within this industry - I'm just pointing out that there are legit offers too and that you can make money from them.

Doing CPA is a lot like wearing clothes made in 'sweatshops' or eating meat from poorly treated animals or driving a car every day instead of taking public transport. People hate when those things and the 'scammy' back-end of offers is bought up, because it's hard to argue with it being a bad thing.

However, you can approach it as you providing a service to an advertiser - rather than you getting people to take a single action so you get paid. Like, you find traffic sources that provide the right kind of leads for an advertiser that offers something your demographic would like. One person's scam is another person's great deal (or needed lesson lol). For instance - supplements, astrology, quotes, toolbars would all be declared scammy by someone (me) but others would think of them as useful (so I can promote them without having to trick people).

But in the end, I don't really care. I drive almost every day, and I promote (legal) shady offers if the price is right, and eat meat. If you do care a lot, you find CPA is a business model most useful to advertisers looking for leads they can brutally hard-sell expensive things to 'boiler-rooms' and whatnot. You either care about that or you don't.

Well, the types of offers you find on PPD and incentive sites are like this.

But on most major CPA networks you also have things like ....

    - Dating
    - Insurance
    - Legal

    And many more.

There is no wonderland... it's not just about the CPA industry, there are shady and scammy offers/advertisers in any industry.

However, there are good services, too. Many insurance, dating, gaming, financial, health, etc companies are real and do deliver what they promise.

It's up to you to decide on what to promote and up to the customer to decide on what to buy.

      Well, put it.

The McDonalds video was great. Really cool of them to tackle a question like that with up front-ness and honestly.

Lot of great companies use CPA take Groupon a few years ago. Look where they are now.

There are 'goodies' and 'baddies' in every industry, of course there's more in some than in others. The thing is, if you think it through, I think that you will find that the affiliate model makes sense for the affiliate when their parent company is making money. The more money they make, the more money you will make. While pay per click can engender dishonest affiliates to drive poor traffic, this sort of behavior will ultimately lead to a crack down on the industry, otherwise the businesses offering the programs will go out of business. It's almost a built in 'goodness' regulator
