PPV: Can i bid on the same keyword (not URL) as my offer?

I know i can't bid on the same URL that i'm promoting, but what about keywords? For example bidding on 'walmart' while promoting walmart.com

Hello,

I had asked this same question from my affiliate manager and she told me that you can as long as their is no restriction on trademark bidding.

on some offers in not allowed column it is written "No Trademark Bidding" on those offers you cannot bid on the word walmart if you are promoting walmart.com

Yes. This is a perfect way to gain volume to your CPA offer. You can also try variables like walmart.co or ww.walmart. A lot of people make mistakes, when typing in the search engine.

Yes using the keyword is often a very good way of increasing traffic. It has even better accuracy when you target a website that is more specific, ex. golfdating if you where promoting an offer for golfdating.com. Hope this helps

Ask your affiliate manager on each offer you want to do this with.

Be prepared for bidding wars on offers this works for. When I used to do this, I had to set up some automation that would keep me at the highest position while making sure not to bid past my EPC. It was funny driving up my competition, some who had dumb automators that didn't have a ceiling bid. I would set my daily budget to $1 and raise my bid as high as possible on a second clone campaign and watch my competition kill itself with huge bids.

Generally, you aren't going to get a stable campaign out of this in the end. You might make a quick buck here and there, but it is such an old practice that you won't get very far with it.
