Facebook Ads: Why is my CR so low?

Hi. I'm promoting CPA gaming offers. So far I haven't found anything profitable. The best I've got is a good CTR and miserable CR.

For example, yesterday I tested an ad with 8 images. The best performing image had a decent CTR, but I paused it after 12 clicks since I had 0 conversions. Why did that happen? My audience was males, 16-19 y.o., single, who like World of Warcraft. I wanted to grab some attention using the title "The Successor of WOW?" and I promoted a browser game similar to WOW. What did I do wrong? Roughly, what CR should I expect from gaming offers?

Thanks.

P.S. I usually target between 100,000 and 200,000 people. Are these markets too broad?

The reason your conversion rate is so low is because FB traffic is pretty dire in quality. You simply need to either laser-target your audience, or get a lot more click to get a lead/conversion.

Simple as that. Any questions just let me know

    hi Christian,

ur offer is converting well for other marketers? perhaps the issue is on the offer that is poor quaility...also u have to laser-target your prospects even more.. this way you keep your advertising spending low and bring in the most conversion possible!! regards..

For a better CTR, got your targeting down pin pointed, which it seems like you've done. Also you need to find a great ad image.

How many ad images have you tested?

The secret for conversions is having a good offer that fits your targeting demographic, and have a good landing page. Also testing a few offers until you find on that converts well.

test upto 100 clicks, you may see couple of conversions. CR depends on offer and targeted users only. usually it is 3-4%

If that's true, then my CPC must be around 6-9 cents in order to break even. That's pretty tough... I'll do my best though.

    Hey mate,

It sounds as though you have only run your campaign for a short while, which indicates you are giving up too early.

Below I have highlighted some things that when combined will improve your CR.

-Do Intel on what is currently working on FB for WOW (ads, Landers, Geo etc)

-You seem to be split testing your image which is a good start, but have you tested your Headline, and Description?

    - Try tightening up your targets to ads (1 ad per campaign is best)

    - Are you running your campaigns for 24hrs and 7 days (this will help to get the best times your conversions are coming in, so you can focus on those winning times)

    - Are you preselling the user on your own Landing page, or are you sending them straight to Offer lander, this is where your intel will help. No matter what I would split test this firstly.

    - Where is your third party tracking tool telling you your conversions are coming from (devices, state, ip addresses etc)

    - You are clearly getting conversions so if you are getting a decent number of those I would ask my Affiliate Manager to up my CPA if not find another network that will.

With any campaign you will lose at first but once you have done the combination of optimization required you will see how easy it becomes to get into the black. And there is no definitive number for CR on any campaign just depends mostly on your angle to offer.

Worst case scenario you lose on that campaign, if so move on to another campaign.

    Hope this helps.
