Some noob Facebook Ad questions

I've been dabbling a bit in Facebook Ads and trying out different things, the Power Editor, Qwaya and such but since my main biz is SEO and the money has been coming in, I kind of let it go. I want to try to get into FB ads again now though.

Here's a couple of questions, I know they are noobish, but would appreciate serious replies.

1. Which tracking program should I use for affiliate conversions through a landing page?

I tried using the Power Editor with Facebook Conversion Tracking, but apparantly that only works if the conversion script is on your own site?

Prosper202 seems to be the standard, but I found the documentation not-noob friendly. Linktrackr showed up in a search, is cheap, but seems sort of basic. CPVLab gets recommendations, but obviously costs a lot more.

I do both lead gen for independent companies and affiliate networks. With the indenpendent companies I have access to the 'checkout page' and with the affiliate networks I can install a third party tracking pixel.

2. Any good beginners guide for setting up the one you'd recommend above?

3. I read that Facebook does not allow Prosper202 links, so how do you work around that if it is correct?

Depending on your level of experience, I would just use their own conversion tracking pixel. Facebook isn't going to "steal" your campaigns.

I don't know why people love p202 so much honestly it's ok but cpvlab is far superior. (Must be the price issue).

      Hey,

Ok, that is cool, but as I wrote, I didn't think the tracking worked if the script is on a vendor site and not your own? Any good guide to setting it up?

It will still work but the vendor has to place the code for you. Most affiliate networks already have an interface to handle this. If not email your AM or the vendor directly.

    1. Which tracking program should I use for affiliate conversions through a landing page?

You can use Facebook Conversion tracking, Google Analytic Goals (if you are familiar with that), Prosper202, or CPVLab.

All can work, the best depends on your goals, experience level, and patients.

Sounds like Facebook Conversion tracking maybe good enough for you.

    2. Any good beginners guide for setting up the one you'd recommend above?

Google, or the software documentation. It isn't always fun, but that is the most complete way to learn them.

    1. For tracking programs check out prosper202, bevomedia or cpvlab. Each have their pros and cons. You can either use pixel tracking or subid tracking

    2. I know prosper202 has many tutorials, videos and guides on their site. I'm not sure about the others

    3. Use your own domain and I don't believe you will have issues
