I'm starting to think about building affiliate sites again, but want to make sure I do it right since Google has been updating a lot since I last did this.

Can anyone post maybe some "Golden Rules" to building affiliate sites and getting them ranked?

    Thanks! That was very helpful. So basically, as long as you were creating sites for users before you shouldn't need to worry about it now. Don't over optimize, don't keyword stuff, don't keyword stuff your image alt tags, etc.

    Keep backlinks at a normal rate, use a variation of anchor texts, etc.

    Still pretty simple. Don't try to outsmart the search engines and they wont smack you down.

    Keep as much as your promotion as you can inside your email list.

    This leave less on your site for Google to get mad at.

    Are you looking for google to provide organic traffic or paid traffic??
