CPA email submits waste of time? Or just 90% shaving?

Currently promoting a few networks:
peerfly (not enough traffic sent, so at the moment i can't tell anything)
adworkmedia (not converting at all)
adscendmedia (not enough traffic sent, so at the moment i can't tell anything)
cpagrip (1 conversion)
maxbounty (1 conversion)

Traffic is ultra targeted coming from sweepstakes websites and i do promote sweepstakes CPA offers, US traffic.
Sent decent numbers only 2 conversions from all of the above.
Honestly i think they are shaving leads on a 90% average or they are just fooling people.

Will give more details soon

Peerfly has already paid more more than $3k since I joined so can tell its legit. I am earning mostly on email and zip submit with my low-traffic website.

It's normal for all CPA networks that's why you need to monitor your site links closely if you are running a site the promotes CPA offers. Advertisers can stop their offer from time to time so it's normal for us to monitor.

I could not agree more with always running your own tracker on any links -- but I figured that was common sense so I failed to mention that in my rant above Good advice though Adie

maybe you can suggest better targeted traffic sources than mine if you are likely to share here.

This is one of the reasons why i typically avoid email submits these days, the problem is you will never know..

I've also found in the past, targeted traffic don't always work so well with email submits (for me at least).. i've always had to have an angle to get the visitors to fill them out

I don't use e-mail and zip submits because they get scrubbed so heavily, but they can work I don't doubt that.

But I don't recommend them to beginners.

BTW: could any representative of those networks come here to explain what's their "scrubbing" criteria? I'm very interested to know more from them.
That will surely help newbies and seasoned marketers to get better results.

lol does anyone else ever notice how whenever affiliates dont see exactly what they expect from a campaign / method they used, then its always the affiliate company that is in some sort of conspiracy to work against the affiliates by shaving their leads at ridiculously high rates...
yet that very same individual will get on the forums next week and post about how happy they are to have done well, and usually say nothing about the role of the affiliate company and shaving then... Would it not make more sense that it would be opposite???

I am honestly not trying to be a smart a$$, for all i know your really getting shaved by 90% from your aff manager, but after reading your posts I am fairly confident that even if the advertiser is shaving, i highly doubt that all of them at once, would shave at the same rates...

Ive been where you are though, gone on rampages where i was convinced my PPL was being shaved, and never once could I prove it, however once i stopped trying to look externally for the issue and rather focused on how I was executing the methods & was surprised to learn that maybe my campaigns werent as strong as I thought & after a few months of trial and error i managed find the sweet spot - ever since then, I have never identified one issue with shaving where something seems off with the CTR or whatnot & I am on quite a few of the larger networks who according to sum, swear on their mothers grave shave, so good luck to ya either way my friend - i hope ya dont take this the wrong way

tacitinc, i have several websites in different niches promoting affiliate products. I'm in the CPA business only from 1 month but the difference is not so big. What makes me think is i'm successful at promoting some affiliate products (they convert well on a regular basis). On the other side, even sending targeted traffic to cpa offers, i don't get the expected conversions as normally should happen. I have tried emails submits and it's a total waste of time.
I will try content locking as well soon (setting up a new website for them) and will let you know how it goes. I'm very curious to check again the shaving rate of content lockers. this time the difference is i do require a "particular" action after the offer has been completed, this way i can really check if CPA networks are shaving and i will tell you exactly what is the shaving rate of every network. Or maybe i will find new opportunities and will share my success story here, who knows...
    Stay tuned...

different things work for different people, but your right thats not to say its the methods that dont work, usually its the person doing the marketing i am glad to see someone like you who, who only after a month in the CPA world, seems to understand that concept
your strategy with targeted traffic to the offers is a perfect example of this, where as someone else may have the same results doing targeted mailings, when you say they are pointless... haha you can see the 'telescopic' nature to the conversation already, it could go on forever and we still would not know a true method to the madness....
if you want to, PM me what niche you plan on doing those locker sites in and illl let you know my full opinion on that - because on about 90% of niches content locking is NOT WORTH IT AT ALL - ppl always end up over doing it or using the locker to early or in the wrong place.. I used to have a site called runescape autoclicker dot com, built by hand, it was a basic html site where players of runescape could come and download a free auto clicker that i wrote in 5 minutes in php. To this day, that was the only site (out of about 6 total i tried locking with in various niches) which actually was worth running the locker. but then again i had the exact match domain for the main ranking keyword in the niche - was on Page 1 - Result #1 on Bing & Yahoo, and Page 1 - #2 on google for over 3 years straight without having to hardly touch the site / update... I was using adscend media at the time for the locker - I was happy with their conversion & the payouts... I never suspected any shaving. The sites traffic would fluctuate quite a bit every month, one month I could get 1000 unique visitors per day w/ 250 conversions on the locker (which was placed on the download button for the autoclicker) - other days Id get 300 uniques and have 175 conversions... lol but i noticed that trend on the other runescape niche website which i was running at the time, so in a nutshell what I am saying is - be careful
I like your idea about reporting back and staying in touch regarding your split tests, I currently have a couple going on myself across a variety of niches so if you want we can trade some research results
