Clickbank + Google Display Network

I've recently seen a few Clickbank offers being promoted through the Google Display Network.

The advertiser looks like an affiliate as opposed to the publisher.

I thought this was a no-go? Is it possible to run Clickbank products through Google still?

The other thing that somebody might be able to reveal is the relationship between media buy networks such as SiteScout and the Google Display Network. Are there less stringent quality controls measure if you're running through a 'reseller' so to speak?

Would welcome the first-hand experiences of other forum members.

Yes, it is possible, you need to provide value in your website to get your ads approved in Google adwords. Single page websites or websites built only for collecting emails, will not get approved, Add more content in your website and provide some information in your website.

Many people are successfully running clickbank campaigns on Google adwords with no problem.

And the relation between Google display network and sitescout is the left over inventory in Google adwords will be bought by sitescout and other networks i guess, thats why sitescout will have very less inventory on indvidual sites. They usually buy left over inventory in other networks.

    Great answer. Thanks.

The specific ad I keep seeing is direct linked to the offer hence my confusion. Maybe it slipped through the net..

I never even considered they'd be cloaking. Makes sense.

I found a website which does not cloak outbound affiliate clickbank links, they advertise on Adwords Search all popular clickbank products with 500 words product review + affiliate link and they get away with it.

    How is that possible ?

P.S I think they are not cloaking links cos when I hover over the link with mouse cursor I can clearly see the clickbank affiliate link. Visitor is also directed to Clickbank offer without any middle step in between.

This is how cloaking works.Google bots see different site content but the visitors see the affiliate page.

I would stay away from sales based clickbank products as the margins are quite small and are hard to convert. Also you are essentially going through a middleman taking a chunk of that margin. Its a lot better to go directly to the merchant, but then again CB only lets you promote sales based programs. Stick to strict CPA/CPL ... getting paid for a signup is a lot easier and more lucrative

    Hi,

    thanks.

Is the google display network a good convert traffic source to build a list?
    Create a beautiful ad with some like;

    "date every women"
    get 7 day email course
    now for free!

    or something.

Does this convert with google display network?

I don't know if it's cloaking or not but I do know there are some rare products on CB that can be advertised on AdWords & the Content Network.

I drove PPC traffic to my CB product for months without issue. I've talked to people on the phone @ Google for tech support and they said the problem is just that most everything people pimp on Google AdWords is scammy. It's not against ClickBank.

BTW - I track/spy on some PPC campaigns - and even in the hosting niche I have seen guys run straight up review sites and how to guides for 12months plus in Google.

Your example could be cloaking -but I think the greater problem is just the sloppy nature of Clickbank.
