First time doing CPA need help

Hello guys,

This is my first campaign and I'm a bit confused over certain number of things. I'm planning to use POF as my PPC traffic source. I have a few newbie questions. Please do not flame me because I'm a genuine newbie.

1. How does the banner ads work? I read a guide from another forum and it says that I would need approximately 10 banner ads. Why would I need so many banner ads? Is it because the ads would be rotated evenly throughout the campaign?

2. I'm planning to use Prosper202 as my tracking device and I found 2 sites regarding guides on how to use Prosper202. The followings are the links:
T202 Tutorial Videos
Tracking202 - Text Tutorials
Will these tutorials be sufficient to help me get started on the right track?

Sorry for asking so many basic questions. I'm not from an IT background.

I'm a newb too but, I think I can answer the first question.

The reason you would want to have 10 different ads is to test and see which ones perform better. My hunch is that you would only do this if you have a substantial budget set aside and you want to test many ads simultaneously. So far, I just do split testing of 2 (and now 3) different ads.

Hope that helps - also hope some veterans jump on with answers after this "bump". Good luck!

      Hi,
Thanks for the helpful answers. But does that mean the ads will be rotated evenly and automatically in 1 single campaign in 1 account?

You make a banner ad, then when the banner ad is displayed for the site's visitor you charged pay per click (CPC) or per thousand impressions (CPM).

You need so many banner ads, because the higher a CTR of you banner ad the cheaper it is for you. So you want to always be testing new banner ads trying to create something that gets a better CTR. (Or conversion rate this clearly important as well.) A good/cheap banner could determine if a campaign is profitable or not. They should be rotated evenly when split testing them.

Those videos should put on the right track! If you hit any sticking points good tracking202 for you specific traffic source to find more detailed help. In your case your traffic source is going to be POF.

1.That number of creatives ain't that big it's needed to see in which direction you should go. I would as well go with different approaches on those banners to see which one works best.

    2. Prosper is your way to go at starters later on you can switch to cpvlab.

    Thanks,

    1. We do this to find the best converting ad, we can make guesses on what will work, but in reality without actually testing it we will not know what works and does not work unless we actually try it and test it and let the data tell us.

This is a good read on this - http://blog.clickbank.com/2011/08/25...testing-guide/

    2. Those are good tutorials to start
