If you are working with free traffic methods, it doesn't take much money to get started. If you are using paid methods, it can take a few hundred or more to start learning what to do to make money and turn a profit

Thanks ChrisBa, Does this mean I can start with 100$ investment and start to see earning if my campaign was successful?

it is definately possible, but not guaranteed it depends on many things like how meticulous you are, how good at ad copy, the PPC network, the CPA offer itself, if you use landing vs direct.

My first set of PPC campaigns with 7search & CPA I've pulled in over $300 in revenue and spent around $150-$175 SO I've been successful immediately. I now aim to scale up on better networks.

Thanks dragonsfire for sharing your opinion, I heard that in order to get earning with CPA you have to invest hundreds of $$ before you can see real profits.

            Yes that's probably right.

It's about ROI. I think many people may not break even with the first $200-300 they spend. But if you use it correctly you'll gather data and experience of knowing how to use the next $200 properly. maybe many newbies or the naive give up around then...

SEo2Ever; Working with a lower budget isn't impossible in fact when I started (although we're talking mid 2000) I launched a Google Adwords campaign on a threshold basis and I recall not even having $35.00 bucks spent and was in the positive. Back then I was heavy in promoting Reg Cleaners they converted well, I hear they still do but my teeth are sunk into other things these days.

Point is - utilize what you have and make the best of it. Bing would be a better starting point as Google will eat your money alot quicker then Bing will. I would also recommend starting with less competitive niche to get your feet wet with the bidding process.

Feel free to PM me if you need help starting.

            Cheers;

I'd advice you start small. Invest just a little and see how it goes. Cos there'll be mistakes and all that along the way. So the lesser you risk to start up, the better for you.

You will need some money to learn and also some money to start testing campaigns. It's hard to give you an exact number, but I'd say a few hundred dollars, something like $300 - $600, will be necessary.

Free traffic requires time and still some level of resources.

I would like you to look at it in a conventional business manner, the more capital you have to invest the better but it doesn't just stop there, your expertise matters a lot.

  • For PPV I'd start from $1,000. For PPC: $500. For eMail: $200. CPM: $500.

You should at first start making AT LEAST $10 a day from free traffic sources and when this is done, you can move forward.

P.S Progagan, your post's been reported for spamming your link.

There is a mathematical way to know how much a campaign will cost you to run.

    1. Select a minimum ROI (I suggest 20%).

    2. Select an offer (Lower the payout the cheaper to test).

    3. Do this math: (payout - 20% of payout)*2

    4. Pick a handful of unique traffic settings. (Adwords, maybe 5-10 keywords, banner placements 5-10 sites etc.)

    5. For each unique keyword or traffic: # of keywords * figure from #3

^^^^ This is how much money you will need to test this particular campaign.

The number increases dramatically when you test more keywords, or higher paying offers etc.

You can play with the numbers a bit like maybe you require 30% ROI minimum or maybe only 10%. Maybe you test more thoroughly at 3x (which is much closer to statistically significant).

For CPA, it really depends on a variety of factors; traffic sources, offers, your ability to test different landers, etc.

Of course, the bigger the budget, the better of you'll be (in most cases).

I didn't start with CPA until I had a successful business, that's only because I really didn't know about it when I first got going.

I stuck with simple affiliate info products and my own info products. With that, I started with less than $100 and scaled with profits earned.

With CPA using Paid Traffic, You could get going with around $500 BUT, you've got to have the right plan and strategies, otherwise $500 just testing whatever won't do you any good.

So make sure you've got the right strategies, stick with one traffic source and get to testing.
