PPC - Do I Need To Be At PC All Day?

Hi

I know there are many aspects of PPC which can be fixed beforehand, eg, daily budget, but would you say it was substantially more difficult to succeed with PPC if you are not able to be at PC all day, eg, if you work?

I ask this on the basis that you won't be able to tweak (as often). But are there other factors which you'd be losing out on aswell, other than just the inability to tweak/test.

Or is it possible to set it up and get pretty accurate results, without it being too dangerous (eg, a runaway campaign)?

Thanks

    Hey Warrior Markets,

When I was using PPC (for the short period that I did), I would rarely be home. I would do as much pre-hand work as possible and stay a little pre-cautious. I could, however, access my work on my blackberry. It's a small investment that pays off, over and over again. I would highly recommend looking into it.

    Good luck,

Sitting there and watching your stats is a great way to over manage and screw things up.
Ideally you should give things a full 24 hours, if not an entire week, to actually test what traffic is genuinely like. Different times and different days will have different response rates.

You should setup a campaign with 10 or so variables and simply split test your traffic through it all, if you can afford to do so.

No, you do not and should not sit in front of your PC all day watching PPC stats.

One of the benefits of PPC is being able to set it up and let it do the work... getting your fast highly targeted traffic.

You need to set it up, start it, and then collect sufficient data before you start tweaking your campaigns.

If you set it up correctly (daily limits, run dates, etc...) you should not worry about runaway campaigns.

    Regards,

    John

    Thanks for the replies, guys.

Yeah, I appreciate the comment about needing to give any given campaign a long enough time to gather accurate results.

My question was more about what it is I'd likely lose/not be able to do by not having access to the computer for long periods of the day. As there must be some benefit to being able track campaign during the day, it'd naturally follow that not being able to do so would lead to some disadvantage.

However, I guess, perhaps, the disadvantage is minimal. More importantly, going by the replies, can I assume it is not only possible, but actually normal, to be able to run a campaign without it running away?

I mean, would it be the "default" result. Or are we saying it is "possible....... if you do this, do that.."? In which case, would it be difficult/dangerous for a newbie to PPC to run a hands-off (during the day) campaign?

I hope I haven't confused you guys. I just want to get into PPC, and would like to know if I can '"test" it safely - but also accurately.

    Thanks again for the replies.

There are many ways to track it via a smart phone. I have many campaigns that I run and do not check them but once a day at most.
