I was wondering if you need to buy a new domain name for every landing page you have, or can i use one domain name with sub-directories? It would seem that buying a new domain name every time you wanted to test a new page would cut into profits.
Thanks in advance!!

You can use sub domains if the content is related. You don't want whales/cake_design KWIM?

But if the content is related--or the domain is generic such as billsmith/content1 many people use subdomains.

Post count isn't high enough to post anything that looks like a link so had to leave off the w's.

    That's a good question.

Does google look at things in a domain that are related, I guess using LSI in some way so you don't get a low QS?

For example, if I wanted to market a niche about running shoes but I had a site called coolexercisegear.com, would this adversely affect a Search/Adwords campaign?

I mean, ideally you have the keywords in the domain, I get that, but some domains I'd have to have 5 words in there to match a niche and that seems excessive.

And, I thought I read somewhere that subdomains could hurt QS a little, I hope I'm wrong because using subs would help with the niche/domain issue like the OP asked.

Well domain as per offer name are definitely good and helps in targeting keywords but sub-domains can do too. Depends on above mentioned points repliers answered.

You can use sub domains but i think it will be nice to have one different domain for every landing page. Like i lije it better this way other than promoting all of my offers on the same domain

You can initially use subdirectories during testing phase. But the offer pans out, you want to have a separate domain just for that offer, sometimes more than one domain to test the display url.

It depend on you, You can also create as many as sub-domain as per your need and niche to promote. If performed well sub-domain also do well.
