I am going to be working on an AdWords project for a client that targets schools/colleges in the US for getting them qualified leads. The idea is to provide these colleges with "x" number of valid, qualified leads that they could get in touch with and end up converting them.

I would like some suggestion on what would be some ideal keywords to target. Being a non-native to US, I would appreciate if someone could make some suggestions. Once again, the target audience is not students themselves, but colleges looking for student leads.

Also, is AdWords even the best medium for this, or do you recommend some other paid channel?

Thanks!

You have to understand of what your audiences are. Say like, the college might some courses right, then go and target those keywords, when people search for those keywords your ad will pop up. If the keywords has less search volume, use Adwords channel targeting like "Education, colleges etc".

You can even try targeting other courses also, when in the end you are reaching students only..

    Just my few cents.

^^ Thanks for your response. The problem is, our initial targeting is going to be more generic so specific courses might not work at this point. And you are right in saying that most keywords will also end up targeting students as well, which could potentially result in very low CTRs.

I am hoping to find some key seed terms and then expand on them as we go.
