Pay Facebook fifty four cents for zero clicks (with proof)

I will add that I am really. New.
Maybe this is a known thing that everyone knows but me, but when I run a very specific campaign and three hours later on my cost per click have zero clicks but have been charged money I get stressed.

This sort of thing is a huge discouragement to a beginner like myself.

I had a similar issue, contacted their support they said it is something called oCPM(optimized cost per imp) when I said I don't want it , they said it is good for you(I don't believe them)

it doesn't mean something filthy is going on, even though optimized for cpc if at the end of the day it didn't get any click, FB will charge you for the impressions they delivered..

      You know, it makes sense.
and with that I add in sarcasm...

I really consider myself pretty sharp. I even took the time to read the page on this directly on facebook.

If it's listed there, I certainly did not see it.

This is according what type of pay you choice, I think you choice Cost Per Impression ( CPM) not CPC ( Cost Per Click) which mean they will take money about the Impression how much you ad appear to users not how many users click on your ad

      No. It'd per click.
      I circled that part.

Cpm would show me the number of times it was displayed.
That is not what this was.
Thanks for the input though friend :-)

You want to make sure you select CPC instead of CPM. Also in a lot of cases you are better off advertising for post engaements that lead them to your site and build up your fan page rather than advertising for website clicks.

One other thing to mention is the more targeted your ad demographics are the lower your cost per click will be.

Once again, look at the screenshot my friend...
      1. This was optimized cost per CLICK and not per Mille (Mille=thousand as in displayed that many times.

      2. I think maybe there is something to per engagement. Perhaps that's something I need to study

      3. Yes I really focused it. What a great point you make. Thanks for that reminder.
      Reps added. Er, thanks added.

One other thing I just remembered from my experience with fb ads is sometimes there is a delay in the clicks being displayed. You may have received some clicks and it hasn't updated that yet. If you have analytics installed on your website you can check if there has been any traffic that has came from FB.

If I remember correctly some times the amount spent is updated quicker than the clicks and impressions are updated or at least that is what I remember happening to me.

I have had similar experiences in the last 3 weeks or so, their algo must be going ultra crazy to do something like this!

I had been getting 10 cent clicks all day long and suddenly everything stopped!

So to clarify, you've spent 54 cents in 3 hours and you're already complaining?

    The problem here isn't Facebook...

Computers don't do math incorrectly, man... Facebook isn't ripping you off. You're only 3 hours into the campaign, the reporting isn't realtime. There are two possible reasons for this:

        1. Fraudulent clicks were detected - you were billed for these initially, but they weren't counted and will eventually be credited back.

        2. The transactional data and the analytics are not on the exact same schedule. Transactional data is usually realtime or near-realtime, but analytics have to be sync'd across multiple servers, so they're usually a little behind.

        Quit freaking out.

If you're using newsfeed ads, Facebook doesn't just charge you for clicks to your website. They charge for other engagements with your ad, including likes, shares and comments. It may be that you've got a handful of likes and comments on your ad, but no clicks through to your website.
