Wordpress for Landing Pages???

I've heard that you should stay away from any wordpress sites including Optimize Press for creating landing pages because of it's slow speed and security reasons. Any thoughts on that. I don't have much other experience creating web pages but I'm looking into Adobe Muse. Any comments welcomed.

    If you're just starting out you should be fine. At the same time you should really start to try to learn html and php

    I really dont suggest using Wordpress for LPs

    Traditional Html and css LP work the best for me.
    I use both Dreamweaver and Muse to make LPs.

    Try learning some basic HTML and CSS its very easy and wont take more than a week but its great skill to have.

    You'll get multiple answers for this.
    I'll be short and sweet.

    Under 500k visits per month
    Use wordpress + cloudflare CDN + gzip compression

    Over 1M visits per month look into custom solutions.
    Wordpress can handle it but from time to time it might time out < happened to me.
    It also depends a lot on your server.

    If your just getting started wordpress is acceptable.

      Don't mind the wordpress haters. Fox news, among other heavy hitters in web traffic control use wp.

      As long as you know how to optimize and keep your server settings (and capabilities) rocking -- you're as solid as any other platform for any web content (landers, news, blogs, ecommerce, etc)
