I little history of my business:

In 2008, as the economy was beginning to crash in September, I saw what most businesses in most industries were doing. They began to change their focus from 'play to win' into 'play just to survive'. I immediately saw this for what it really was… a strategy for failure. When my 'would-be competitors' began cutting corners, lowering their value to their customers and lowering their expectations for themselves, I focused all my company's energies on adding more value to my students, building for the long term and raising expectations for myself, my staff and my valued clients…. My online guitar lessons expanded further. The result: while other companies around the world (including those in the music instruction industry) began losing money, clients and hope, my business grew by 51% that year.

In 2009, when the economy hit the bottom, unemployment peaked, businesses and banks were failing, music schools began to close or cut back on teachers, many music teachers got out of teaching completely (and never returned), and most (almost all) guitar lessons websites lost lots of business… On the contrary, my staff and I again reliably, consistently and overwhelmingly prospered and grew my business by another 48% in 2009.

In 2010, the US and global economies were still in deep recession, more businesses, big and small across all industries lost more money - many went bankrupt… many music schools and teachers (both online and offline) panicked and lowered prices further, cut corners almost to the breaking point, did everything possible to simply 'survive'… and hoped for change that would not come in 2010, 2011, 2012, etc…NO-NO-In this same year (2010), I focused relentlessly on adding more value to my students, helping them achieve their own success…. business grew an additional 65% … I became (by far) the highest earning guitar teacher in the United States.

in 2011, the recession continued. governments in Europe were on the verge of collapse. Protestors (and in some countries, riots) flooded the streets of Europe, the UK and even the USA. Food and energy prices continued to skyrocket. More good people tragically lost their jobs - worse, many lost their homes… At the same time, my staff and I worked even harder, constantly making improvements in every area of the business. We aggressively developed and implemented newer, better and more innovative ways to help my students get bigger results, better results and faster results. The result: business grew even more deeply into 7-figures that year and I became the highest earning guitar teacher in the world - of all time.

in 2012, The great recession enters its 4th full year. More of the same continuous bad news in almost every industry, more hardships among both businesses and the common person, wages were still down, unemployment was still high, and many homes and businesses sat vacant. On top of it all Google releases new big changes to it's systems, hurting many businesses who depend on search engine traffic… In the meantime, my company grew again, adding more record profits to both the top and bottom lines. Demand became so high for my high end live events that $2,000 per person events sold out in 3 minutes, a second event was added and sold out in 22 minutes! Tom Hess Music Corporation again surged deeper into 7-figures.

So how did we do all of this? How was it possible for a guy who teaches guitar to earn millions? Here were the key steps:
