Creating ebooks sounds like hard work. It is not - if you know how to create ebooks quickly and easily. You'll find it becoming a fun, profitable and speedy process after you've created a couple ebooks. I have written around 75 of them over the last 10 years, and am going to share some of the tricks I use every day - even today.

Start With a Plan

When you set out to create ebooks, don't just sit at your computer and start banging away at the keys. Instead, take out a sheet of paper (or open up Notepad) and jot down some quick notes.

In the plan, include things like:

- who is the target audience for your ebook
- what are the biggest problems they are seeking to solve
- how can you help them solve these problems
- what is your purpose in writing this ebook
- what is your goal for distributing this ebook
- how many days do you have to create ebooks
- how much money can you afford to spend on it
Draft Your Outline

Once you have the plan laid out, the next step is to create a framework for your ebook. Any guide on how to create ebooks will teach you to structure your ebook with an introduction, chapters detailing the content, and then a close.

I'm going to tell you about doing it a bit differently. Start out by introducing the PROBLEM. Agitate it, dimensionalize it, make it feel real and alive to your reader. That way, by the time they start getting into the meat of your content, they'll better appreciate the solutions you're offering.

Make each chapter focus on one element of the problem - and offer a solution for it, while introducing the next problem. It's like reading a mystery novel - every chapter ends with a cliff-hanger, so the reader is forced to turn to the next page to see what's happening!

Write Your 'Marketing' Content

Whatever your purpose in creating ebooks, write it down now. If your primary aim is to get awareness for your website or business or cause, create your 'marketing copy' for that now. Yes, before you even begin writing your ebook.

This way, you'll find it easy to insert quick mentions of this throughout the rest of your ebook. And often, your ebook itself will weave around the real purpose if you state it clearly in the beginning.

Create eBook Chapters

Write your ebook. Try and do each chapter in one sitting. At least discipline yourself to write a couple of pages daily. When you are in the 'zone' and words flow freely, just keep writing. Don't stop to edit, correct yourself or do any research.

If you prepared your outline and table of contents already, fleshing out each section of your ebook can be quick and easy work.

Get Illustrations

If you want to include graphics and design elements in your ebook, do it now. You have 2 choices - create the graphics yourself, or hire it out to a pro.

Format Your eBook

Creating ebooks involves packaging and formatting it to look elegant, attractive and readable. You can get very sophisticated about this - or keep it simple and basic - depending upon your audience.

Keep up to date with changing technology. Once upon a time, compiled .exe ebooks were all the rage. Today, you'd find it hard to get anyone to download such an ebook, because of the danger of viruses and rogue programs. PDF is today's standard - but that could change if something better with more security comes up.

The real trick is to stay on the leading edge, follow trends and constantly educate yourself on the best way to create ebooks - by buying and consuming information about the topic... including other ebooks!
