Why Can't You Succeed Online?

There are so many threads in the various forums with tales of people who cannot succeed in Internet Marketing. Many of these people had bought various reports and courses from IM gurus, hoping that it is the magic shiny bullet that would solve all their problems and bring immense wealth to them.

First of all, think of yourself as a student in school. Ask yourself this question – What was your best subject? It does not matter whether you completed high school, or have lots of degrees. There must be a subject you liked and did relatively well in.

Next, try to understand yourself as a student by asking the following questions:
  1. How did you learn best?
  2. Did you have a strict teacher?
  3. Did you have an inspiring teacher?
  4. Did you have a teacher who made you work hard in class?
  5. Did you have a teacher who went through the problems you had with the topic?
  6. Did you have a teacher who showed interest in you as a person?
  7. Did you have peers who studied with you?
  8. Did you ask your teacher questions if you did not understand?
  9. Did you just watch a video and expect to ace the test?
  10. Did you revise your work periodically?
  11. Did you sit in front of the class or sit at the back?
  12. Did you pay attention in class?
  13. Did you have group work in school?
  14. Did you have projects you need to complete?
  15. Did you have a teacher who uses her experience to guide you instead of just entertaining with tales about herself?

Once you have answered the questions, think about how you are as a Internet Marketing learner.
  1. Do you buy a product, read part of it, and chuck it aside on the digital shelf?
  2. Do you go through the videos again?
  3. Do you read the product again?
  4. Do you write down the questions you have?
  5. Do you do your homework?
  6. Do you actually try out any of the steps?
  7. What do you do when you are stuck at any stage?
  8. Do you have peers you can turn to for help?
  9. Does the product owner allow you to ask questions?
  10. Do you get your questions answered?
  11. Do you attend classes?
  12. Do you have a mentor?
  13. Do you keep trying until you pass (make money or able to do what you were learning)? Just like how you keep trying until you get your driving license?
  14. Is there any actionable plan you can follow through?
  15. Do you focus on one subject or do you try to learn all sorts of methods?

While adult learning may be different from the time you were in school, many fundamental principles still exist. You still have to do your homework. You still have to ask your friends for help.

Simply treat each new report you buy as a subject you have to pass in school or you risk being kicked out. You might be good in just one subject, but you can be really good at it if you put your mind to it.
