Article marketing is dead, long live the king!

Recently I am reading a lot of posts on the Warrior Forum, on Internet marketing blogs and in Internet article marketing directories that article marketing is dead. In fact this trend has become so prevalent that if I had a cent for every time I read it, then I would never have to write another word! Sometimes the reasoning behind these misconceptions is obvious, the writer has not written enough articles, or they have written a plethora of articles without bothering to do the keyword research which means the prospective readers cannot connect with their work; sometimes they're merely writing in a niche with no market.

At other times it is difficult for newbie's to understand the type of article that they need to be writing. If you do not understand the purpose of the article and it is harder to write relevant content. At the end of the day there are only four types of articles, content articles, authority articles, articles to drive traffic to a specific URL and backlink articles.

Content articles can have your own unique twist and so can authority articles; these are the most important types they cannot be outsourced willy-nilly or cheaply because they define your Internet persona. My research has indicated the back link articles work whether or not they make sense in other words these articles can be outsourced as cheaply as a dollar an article. The article designed to send traffic to a website falls between the two categories. They can be outsourced because they should follow a very simple formula.

Recently, I have gone back to school to study for my second degree some 30 years after the first one and one of the things I've noticed in education is the change in how essays should be written. In my day they were written without stating the obvious, - today they should be written by stating your intention, putting the argument your intention, reiterating your points and concluding your points. This formula will work well for this type of article.

Once you have adapted your style of writing to the purpose of your article things will become much easier than fall into place. Content articles should always be the length they are meant to be, don't pad them out with fluff if they're only 250 words long and then so be it. Don't make it an article, write a blog post instead. The authority articles in my view should be at least 600 words and frankly they can be 800 or even 1100 words because they are meant to be authority articles they should be informative and cover all points and all bases. Although they can be controversial they must always be well researched and establish you as an authority in your field they are the antithesis of `backlink articles where the emphasis is on speed of writing and require no research.
In conclusion define the purpose of your writing before setting pen to paper and craft your article according to its purpose. Remember that your readers do not make you any profit as readers to make a profit from them you have to convert them into action takers, action takers either read more, research more, and they should be from you because they then become loyal. Eventually this loyalty will convert to trust and lead to purchase and voila, all of a sudden article marketing works like a charm.
